I'm glad to be back here. It's been a few weeks of sickness, and I'm finally starting to feel good enough to record another lesson for you all! And today we are doing some conjugation. 

So in this episode, you will learn to conjugate the French verb "faire" which means "to do/make"  in the future tense, and more precisely the simple future tense. 

So "I will do, I will make... You will do/make etc."

We already learned the conjugation in the present tense of the verb "faire" in episode number 24, many episodes ago, so if you're not familiar with the present tense of "faire" yet, then I suggest you start with episode 24 and then come back to this episode to learn the future tense.

Alright so let's see the simple future tense conjugation of "faire" (to do). I'll share some examples in a minute.

Repeat after me.

• je ferai (I will make)
• tu feras (you will make, singular informal)
• il fera (he will make)
• elle fera (she will make)
• on fera (we will make, informal)
• nous ferons (we will make)
• vous ferez (you will make, plural or singular formal)
• ils feront (they will make, masculine)
• elles feront (they will make, feminine)

Now let's see some examples.

So you will notice that in some French expressions, we use the verb "faire" in French, even if “to do, to make” is not the verbs we use in English. Some expressions with “faire” aren’t a word-for-word translation.

For examples: 

• "faire attention" = to be careful
• "faire de la randonnée" = to go hiking

And actually, I'll record an episode, hopefully, next week, on French expressions using the verb "faire" in French, but where it’s not used in English.

• Je ferai mes devoirs plus tard. (I'll do my homework later.)
• Qu'est-ce que tu feras demain soir ? (What will you do tomorrow night?)
• Il/elle fera des crêpes pour le goûter. (He / She will make crepes for afternoon tea.) 
• On fera le ménage le week-end prochain. (We will do the house cleaning next weekend.) 
• Nous ferons attention sur la route. (We'll be careful on the road.)
• Est-ce que vous ferez les courses aujourd'hui ? (Will you do the grocery shopping today?) 
• Ils/elles feront de la randonnée pendant leurs vacances. (They will go hiking during their vacation.)

Ok, so recap of the verb "faire" in the future tense, make sure you know it by heart, because it's such a common verb that we use in French. We use in so many expressions:

• je ferai (I will make)
• tu feras (you will make, singular informal)
• il / elle fera (he will make)
• on fera (we will make, informal)
• nous ferons (we will make)
• vous ferez (you will make, plural or singular formal)
• ils / elles feront (they will make, masculine & feminine)
