Today we're continuing our appreciation verbs series, where you learn how to express your tastes and preferences - as in how to say what you love, like, dislike, hate, etc. 

And today we focus on the verb "adorer" which means to adore, to love, to like, but I'll explain more about the meaning in just a few seconds.

In this episode, I'll first share with you the meaning of the verb "adorer," then the conjugation in the present tense, and then we'll finish with some examples.

So, the verb "adorer" can have a few different meanings, obviously depending on the context. 

"Adorer" can mean "to love," as in to love someone with passion. For example, "I love my husband," I adore my husband: "J'adore mon mari."

But it can also mean to really like someone or something. And for me, personally - that's how I use the verb "adorer" 99% of the time. Rather than a strong romantic feeling, I use it to say "I really like someone or someting." For example: I really like chocolate; I know I use this example all the time haha: "J'adore le chocolat."

Now, it can also mean "to worship," but we're not going to talk about this meaning today. 

Alright, so let's see the conjugation of the verb "adorer" in the present tense. 

This one is a regular verb; it's super simple and follows a simple pattern. And by the way, I'll have a grammar membership coming out soon, where I'll have a full module dedicated to French conjugation, so stay tuned for that. 

Ok, répetez après moi, repeat after me: 

• j'adore
• tu adores - don’t pronounce the -s at the end.
• il adore
• elle adore
• on adore
• nous adorons
• vous adorez
• ils adorent

Alright, now let's see some examples: 

• J'adore faire du shopping. (I love shopping.)
• Tu adores skier. (You love to ski.)
• Il, elle adore ses nouveaux jouets! (He, she loves his new toys!
• On adore les crêpes. (We love pancakes.)
• Nous adorons chanter. (We love to sing.)
• Vous adorez le français. (You love French.)
• Ils, elles adorent voyager. (They love to travel.)
