Today, we're doing some conjugation, because it's been a while! 

Now, do you remember when we started our appreciation verb series, with "aimer", "ne pas aimer" & "adorer"? Well, today, we'll learn the conjugation in the present tense of the last verb of our appreciation verb series: détester (which means to hate) and then we'll see some examples.

So you can pair this episode with episode numbers 61 and 63, where you'll learn the conjugation of "aimer" and therefore "ne pas aimer" and "adorer" in the present tense.

Ok, so, let's go back to today's lesson. 

"détester" means to "to hate" or "to detest" something or someone! So it's much stronger and intense than just "dislike."

Let's see the conjugation of the verb "détester" in the present tense! It's a regular verb, so it's super simple! Please repeat after me, répétez après moi.

• je déteste
• tu détestes
• il / elle déteste
• on déteste
• nous détestons
• vous détestez
• ils / elles détestent

Now let's see some examples: 

• Je déteste les brocolis. (I hate broccoli.)
• Tu détestes faire la cuisine. (You hate cooking.)
• Il déteste l'odeur du café. (He hates the smell of coffee.)
• Elle déteste l'odeur du café. (She hates the smell of coffee.)
• On déteste faire du sport. (We hate exercising.)
• Nous détestons aller chez le dentiste. (We hate going to the dentist.)
• Vous détestez la grammaire. (You hate grammar.)
• Ils détestent faire la vaisselle. (They hate doing the dishes.)
• Elles détestent faire la vaisselle. (They hate doing the dishes.)

Et voilà! That's it for today! So now you can express your tastes and preferences better! You know how to say I adore, I like, I dislike, and I hate.
