Bonjour à tous, hello everyone, welcome back to the French Made Easy podcast. This is episode 178, numéro 178. Today, we’ll be learning some shapes in French. Basic vocabulary that we haven’t learned yet! So we’ll do a part 1 today, and we’ll learn more shapes in a part 2.

Let’s get into it, we have 7 shapes, plus example sentences! Make sure you repeat after me so you can also practice your pronunciation.

  1. le cercle 🔵  (circle)
  2. Il a dessiné un cercle sur le papier. (He drew a circle on the paper.)
  3. le carré ◼️ (square)
  4. Le carré a quatre côtés égaux. (The square has four equal sides.)
  5. le triangle 🔺 (triangle)
  6. Un triangle a trois côtés. (A triangle has three sides.)
  7. le rectangle ▭ (rectangle)
  8. Un rectangle a deux côtés longs et deux côtés courts. (A rectangle has two long sides and two short sides.)
  9. le losange 🔷 (diamond)
  10. Le losange ressemble à un carré incliné. (The diamond looks like a tilted square.)
  11. le cœur ❤️ (heart)
  12. Elle a un tatouage en forme de cœur. (She has a heart-shaped tattoo.)
  13. l’étoile ⭐️ (star)
  14. Une étoile a cinq branches. (The star has five points.)
