Today, we’re learning some useful French vocabulary for when you’re at the bakery, à la boulangerie.
We’ll go through 10 words, with example sentences so you can hear how they’re used in context.

- la boulangerie (bakery) → La boulangerie est ouverte. (The bakery is open.)
- le boulanger / la boulangère 👨🍳 (baker) → Le boulanger prépare le pain. (The baker prepares the bread.)
- le pain 🍞 (bread) → Qui va chercher le pain ce matin ? (Who is going to get the bread this morning?)
- une baguette 🥖 (baguette) → La baguette est croustillante. (The baguette is crispy.)
- un croissant 🥐 (croissant) → Je mange un croissant le matin. (I eat a croissant in the morning.)
- un pain au chocolat 🍫 (chocolate pastry) → Le pain au chocolat est encore chaud. (The chocolate pastry is still warm.)
- une viennoiserie (pastry) → Il prend une viennoiserie avec son café. (He has a pastry with his coffee.)
- une pâtisserie 🍰 (pastry/dessert) → Cette boulangerie fait de très bonnes pâtisseries.
(This bakery makes very good pastries.) - un gâteau 🎂 (cake) → Elle achète un gâteau pour son anniversaire. (She buys a cake for her birthday.)
- une tarte 🍓 (tart) → Je voudrais une tarte aux fraises, s’il vous plaît. (I would like)
