Today, we’re learning 15 common French words where the final letter is not pronounced, where it is silent.
Now, there are actually many, many words like this… so we’ll do a part 2 very soon to continue practising together. :)

So today, I’ll give you a list of 15 words, with their English translation.
- petit (small) → /pəti/
- grand (big, tall) → /ɡrɑ̃/
- blanc (white) → /blɑ̃/
- froid (cold) → /frwa/
- chaud (hot) → /ʃo/
- nez (nose) → /ne/
- vous (you – formal/plural) → /vu/
- trop (too much) → /tro/
- temps (time, weather) → /tɑ̃/
- beaucoup (a lot) → /boku/
- lait (milk) → /lɛ/
- prix (price) → /pri/
- gentil (kind) → /ʒɑ̃ti/
- long (long) → /lɔ̃/
- jamais (never) → /ʒamɛ/
In all of those words, the final letter is silent.
