Mountain Rum - Ep 35 - Karen Hoskin, Montanya Distillers, Founder & CEO
Where the backbeats meet the spirits.
Episode #35 . Our second podcast for the celebration of Women's History Month is Karen Hoskin, CEO and founder of Montanya Distillers.
Since 2008, Montanya Rums have earned 24 gold, silver and double-gold medals, including “Best Rum in the World” at the World Rum Awards and “USA Rum of the Year” at the Berlin International Spirits Competition.
It was a pleasure chatting with Karen on International Women's Day about her journey into making mountain rum, music and about a force for good. She talks the talk and walks the walk. Also she is passionate about the environment and about reducing single-use trash from disposable products.
Karen not only makes rum, but also makes music. She has been a musician for most of her life. and will be heading into the studio next month to record 8 songs. Can't wait to hear the full LP.
Also on the mid show rum review, Jame from Ready Set Rum , reviews the Appleton Estate Reserve Rum
