Rick Nelson
Rick spent a 31 year career with the Nevada Department of Transportation as District Engineer in Reno, NV and retiring as the Assistant Director of Operations. He participated in many national programs that help create the winter maintenance operations you see in place today. Rick represented the US on the Winter Service Technical Committee of the World Road Association for 10 years serving as the Committees English Speaking Secretary for the last four years.
Currently he provides subject matter expertise to AASHTOs Winter Weather Management Technical Service Program, formerly SICOP, a program he has been part of since 1993. Rick is also a Certified Instructor for the National Highway Institute.
