And he said to"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":141.93,"endTime":146.52,"body":"me, he said, you know, that his"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":141.93,"endTime":146.52,"body":"name is Rick. And he said to me,"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":146.76,"endTime":151.47,"body":"he says, I want you to build"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":146.76,"endTime":151.47,"body":"community within community. I don't want to sit"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":167.7,"endTime":171.15,"body":"behind a desk, but then the"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":167.7,"endTime":171.15,"body":"logical mean was like, how am I"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":171.15,"endTime":174.96,"body":"going to get everything done."},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":171.15,"endTime":174.96,"body":"But I didn't realize, you know,"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":174.96,"endTime":178.86,"body":"how his words would end up"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":174.96,"endTime":178.86,"body":"shaping my career, you know, I"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":178.86,"endTime":185.85,"body":"looked at it at that point as"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":178.86,"endTime":185.85,"body":"being a very specific, you know,"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":185.85,"endTime":193.02,"body":"order, so to speak, and goal for"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":185.85,"endTime":193.02,"body":"that position. However, you"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":193.02,"endTime":198.03,"body":"know, what he was sharing with"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":193.02,"endTime":198.03,"body":"me, it was really about creating"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":198.06,"endTime":202.62,"body":"next social wellbeing. And, you"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":198.06,"endTime":202.62,"body":"know, which is, you know, really"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":202.62,"endTime":205.26,"body":"developing and sustaining"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":202.62,"endTime":205.26,"body":"meaningful relationships with"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":205.26,"endTime":210.45,"body":"others, you know, about, you"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":205.26,"endTime":210.45,"body":"know, how allowing ones to feel"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":210.45,"endTime":213.75,"body":"valued and authentic and"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":210.45,"endTime":213.75,"body":"providing a sense of"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":213.75,"endTime":217.11,"body":"connectedness and belonging, and"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":213.75,"endTime":217.11,"body":"that's what builds community."},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":217.11,"endTime":221.13,"body":"And that is what he wanted me to"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":217.11,"endTime":221.13,"body":"do. Right? He knew that, you"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":221.13,"endTime":223.68,"body":"know, he had this amazing"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":221.13,"endTime":223.68,"body":"private health club that"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":223.68,"endTime":227.52,"body":"everyone wanted to be a part of,"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":223.68,"endTime":227.52,"body":"but if he just had that large"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":227.52,"endTime":231.15,"body":"health club, and that people"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":227.52,"endTime":231.15,"body":"were just coming there just to"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":231.15,"endTime":235.59,"body":"take a class, span class and"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":231.15,"endTime":235.59,"body":"leaving, or just coming, you"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":235.59,"endTime":240.09,"body":"know, to get on the treadmill"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":235.59,"endTime":240.09,"body":"and workout and leaving, there"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":240.09,"endTime":245.16,"body":"was no sense of place to keep"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":240.09,"endTime":245.16,"body":"them there. Right. And so his"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":245.16,"endTime":248.19,"body":"task to me as the program"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":245.16,"endTime":248.19,"body":"director is, I want you to"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":248.19,"endTime":252.36,"body":"create a community within a"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":248.19,"endTime":252.36,"body":"community. And so my job was to"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":252.39,"endTime":255.75,"body":"create all these different"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":252.39,"endTime":255.75,"body":"programs that would keep people"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":255.75,"endTime":261.18,"body":"connected. And so I started"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":255.75,"endTime":261.18,"body":"creating these communities from"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":261.18,"endTime":267.42,"body":"hiking clubs to, you know,"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":261.18,"endTime":267.42,"body":"having from hiking to running"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":267.9,"endTime":271.8,"body":"to, you know, even like fencing"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":267.9,"endTime":271.8,"body":"programs, and our my basketball"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":271.8,"endTime":276.48,"body":"leagues were really intense and"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":271.8,"endTime":276.48,"body":"impressive, though. They were"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":276.48,"endTime":279.57,"body":"already that way when I started,"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":276.48,"endTime":279.57,"body":"right, and my job was just to"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":279.57,"endTime":284.49,"body":"continue to nourish them, and"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":279.57,"endTime":284.49,"body":"help them to flourish. But that"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":284.49,"endTime":288.84,"body":"was the magic of this health"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":284.49,"endTime":288.84,"body":"club, right is that not only did"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":288.84,"endTime":294.12,"body":"we have all these different"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":288.84,"endTime":294.12,"body":"clubs, but we also had events"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":294.72,"endTime":299.37,"body":"that also brought people"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":294.72,"endTime":299.37,"body":"together. That were free that"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":299.61,"endTime":304.08,"body":"gave People have an opportunity"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":299.61,"endTime":304.08,"body":"to get to know each other that"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":304.47,"endTime":308.16,"body":"made them. So when they saw each"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":304.47,"endTime":308.16,"body":"other in the club, that they"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":308.16,"endTime":312.48,"body":"would be like, Hey, how are you."},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":308.16,"endTime":312.48,"body":"And now, instead of them passing"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":312.48,"endTime":315.6,"body":"each other by or just waiting"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":312.48,"endTime":315.6,"body":"for them to get off that"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":315.6,"endTime":319.35,"body":"treadmill, right and staring at"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":315.6,"endTime":319.35,"body":"them awkwardly, now they're"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":319.35,"endTime":324.9,"body":"having a conversation with them."},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":319.35,"endTime":324.9,"body":"And it really created this"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":324.9,"endTime":330.3,"body":"magical place where now people"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":324.9,"endTime":330.3,"body":"aren't just part of this health"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":330.3,"endTime":334.05,"body":"club, they're part of this"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":330.3,"endTime":334.05,"body":"greater community. And so that"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":334.05,"endTime":340.98,"body":"really, kind of got me. I didn't"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":334.05,"endTime":340.98,"body":"realize it at the time, but it"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":340.98,"endTime":345.06,"body":"really got me excited for"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":340.98,"endTime":345.06,"body":"building community as such a"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":345.06,"endTime":351.66,"body":"young age. And then from there,"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":345.06,"endTime":351.66,"body":"you know, I was able to take an"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":351.66,"endTime":356.16,"body":"opportunity to be a lifestyle"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":351.66,"endTime":356.16,"body":"director at a community"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":356.16,"endTime":360.66,"body":"association, and you spent, you"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":356.16,"endTime":360.66,"body":"know, the last 15 years, you"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":360.66,"endTime":365.22,"body":"know, going from there to"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":360.66,"endTime":365.22,"body":"community manager, and then"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":365.58,"endTime":371.04,"body":"being with a developer for six"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":365.58,"endTime":371.04,"body":"years as director of vital"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":371.04,"endTime":374.55,"body":"services, and I really got to"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":371.04,"endTime":374.55,"body":"jump in and do so much from"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":375.15,"endTime":380.37,"body":"overseeing all their programming"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":375.15,"endTime":380.37,"body":"and lifestyle for their national"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":381.24,"endTime":386.88,"body":"projects, to also helping them"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":381.24,"endTime":386.88,"body":"look at their amenities, and how"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":386.88,"endTime":390.03,"body":"should we be building their"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":386.88,"endTime":390.03,"body":"communities and their amenities?"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":390.03,"endTime":392.34,"body":"And you know, what should be"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":390.03,"endTime":392.34,"body":"going in them? And, you know,"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":392.34,"endTime":399.18,"body":"what, what do you resonance want"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":392.34,"endTime":399.18,"body":"to be able to connect? But then I would"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":486.24,"endTime":491.01,"body":"chickened out, to be quite"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":486.24,"endTime":491.01,"body":"honest. And but I had a lot of"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":491.01,"endTime":497.67,"body":"people who believed in me, and"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":491.01,"endTime":497.67,"body":"who could see my skill set, that"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":497.67,"endTime":500.79,"body":"would tell me that I should do"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":497.67,"endTime":500.79,"body":"it. Right, they would say, Oh,"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":500.79,"endTime":505.86,"body":"my goodness, like you really are"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":500.79,"endTime":505.86,"body":"needed in this sector. And if"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":505.89,"endTime":509.94,"body":"more people had you, you know,"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":505.89,"endTime":509.94,"body":"if more developers had someone"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":509.94,"endTime":515.37,"body":"like you, you know, our, our"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":509.94,"endTime":515.37,"body":"industry, it'd be so much"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":515.37,"endTime":520.23,"body":"better. So different. Um, but,"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":515.37,"endTime":520.23,"body":"you know, hearing it and doing"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":520.23,"endTime":525.54,"body":"it are two different things."},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":520.23,"endTime":525.54,"body":"And, you know, I got to the"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":525.54,"endTime":529.47,"body":"point where, you know, my"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":525.54,"endTime":529.47,"body":"contract had ended with my last"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":529.47,"endTime":533.43,"body":"client, who I just loved and"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":529.47,"endTime":533.43,"body":"adored. And it was time for me"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":533.43,"endTime":536.88,"body":"to kind of make a decision,"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":533.43,"endTime":536.88,"body":"like, which way do I go, you"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":536.88,"endTime":541.95,"body":"know, do I continue down the"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":536.88,"endTime":541.95,"body":"path I was in?
