After 12 years of friendship, power couple Anthony and Erica are now engaged to be married in February, 2021. Relationships have alot to do with how well they connect with eachother. Chief (ret) Joe Lopez grew up in a rough neighborhood in the Bronx, and is the son of two Cuban immigrant workers. At an early age he participated in The United States Naval Sea Cadet Corps, Cub Scouts and the Boy Scouts of America.. That eventually led to a stronger commitment to serve his country and lead, Chief Lopez joined the United States Marine Corps in 1979

After the military, he began a career with the Florida highway patrol. He was promoted to a series of different ranks, including Troop commander where he lead approximately 250 Troopers and Dispatchers from Orlando to Miami.

During his career with the Florida Highway Patrol, Lopez spent more than three decades in various roles including Internal Affairs, Violent Street Crimes Unit, Traffic Homicide, Training, SWAT, Mobile Field Force, the Bureau of Criminal Investigations and Intelligence, Contraband Interdiction and K-9, I mean you name it.

Joe Lopez is a committed husband of more than 30 years to a beautiful woman he calls his “Rock”,  are raising two children, both currently attending the University of Central Florida. And…. He’s now running for Orange County Sheriff.

According to Business Insider:

For the third year in a row, millennials who participated in the World Economic Forum's Global Shapers Survey 2017 believe climate change is the most serious issue affecting the world today.

Nearly half (48.8%) of the survey participants chose climate change as their top concern, and 78.1% said they would be willing to change their lifestyle to protect the environment.

Survey respondents were also in near perfect agreement over the cause of climate change. Over 91% of respondents answered "agree" and "strongly agree" with the statement "science has proven that humans are responsible for climate change.”

Despite the dire state of the world today — and the stereotype that millennials' are selfish and apathetic — the generation aged 18 to 35 cares deeply about global issues, and they're determined to tackle them.

This past week, we celebrated the release of Miguel Global's new Cook Book, He’s Got Flavor by doing a Live cooking show on Facebook… Which we titled, “The Flavor of Change” If you missed the FB Live performance….. The show kicked off with CEO Haygo Demir of DGI as Co-host and helper and special guest NFL Veteran Wesley Saunders along with some other close friends and guests part of the kitchen audience… 

Everyone was eager to taste to mouth watering Lobster … prepared specific to the recipe right out of Miguel's new cookbook… He’s Got Flavor. 

During the Filming of this show you saw a-lot of energy, good vibes, the sizzle from the pan, some wine drinking and success tasting … but most importantly you saw men and women come together and have and good time talking business, success, sharing ideas and perspectives.

Inside all of the fun and food tasting there was something incredibly obvious.. Viewers most definitely tuned in and became apart of the energy. The magnetic vibe pulled people in from Australia, Alaska, Aruba, Jamaica, Canada, Mexico….. 

It was a reminder of how healthy and power fellowshipping is..

Food has a way of connecting us all.. Our past, our families, memories… It bridges friendships together sometimes to people we don’t even know.. It connects us to our stomach, our body, our senses..

To share food is to share culture and heritage. When you bring people together and share a meal.. it is the most communal and binding thing in almost every place in the world. It is really like a glue that connects us.

No matter what you do and who you are.. You socio economic status, your back ground, whether you single or married, a parent or not.. You got to eat. "I do however challenge men to take the lead and become more comfortable with the kitchen, to be able to cook is such powerful and useful skill. Its a VITAL Life Skill and one that we should all possess." 

The Flavor of Change series is about The Spice of Life, The taste of success and the bitterness of failure. Every dish is not going to be a favorite of every person no different than every success you have will be celebrated no matter how good it is. 

But the value is in the discussion and that more of us who come together to have the dialogue perhaps food can be a vehicle to drive the relevant and important discussions more often.. Especially for families. I truly believe that not only will we become more unified, more connected and better cooks but we will eat good too.

Health Care workers are much more than Heroes, We can only imagine the struggle they deal with everyday. Most physicians are trained to put patients first. And, while 80 percent of physicians say managing self care important to them, barely  half of them practice it at often as they should.

You are the hero, you win the prize. Without your unselfish love for the human race and everything that you give of yourself, the bad stories would be so much worse. Yuliya “Julie” Sidorevskaya arrived on the sandy shores of Miami Beach at the age of 9 when her family migrated from Belarus in 1992. They came directly to North Bay Village, the bayside city that would eventually become the hub for her real estate empire. Julie plunged head first into living the American dream, mastering English and Spanish as she embraced Miami’s ethnic diversity. In this podcast teachers and parents discuss the current state of education and echange ideas on impact of distant learning. In response to the pandemic, schools in over 160 countries have closed and more than 1.5 billion students are affected. There are alot of questions about what's ahead, how long social distancing will last and what is to be accepted as the new norm.

Parents are frustated trying to balance work, child care and self care. For older kids and teenagers, things will begin to get much more comlicated the longer this draws out. For younger kids under 5, more time with mom and dad at home is a good thing for them.

Teachers are challenged with trying to now motivate kids through the computer and work even harder with parents to help students from falling behind.

Bill Burgos, MS, CSCS, RSCC*D, is the head strength and conditioning coach for the Minnesota Timberwolves. Burgos is also an adjunct professor for Austin Peay State University, where he created an online course discussing the current trends of sports science and strength and conditioning. He has over 15 years of experience in collegiate and professional sports, including as head of strength and conditioning for the Orlando Magic and the New York Knicks.

Mr. Burgos has obtained two masters of science degrees. He is currently pursuing a doctorate in health sciences, with an emphasis on leadership and organizational behavior, from A.T. Still University. In addition, he is certified by the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) as a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) and a Registered Strength and Conditioning Coach (RSCC). Mr. Burgos also has FMS (Functional Movement Screen) certification, is an EXOS Performance Specialist, is MWOD certified, and is certified in myokinematics by Postural Restoration Institute (PRI).

Burgos is the immediate past president of the National Basketball Strength and Conditioning Association (NBSCA) and served on several committees in the NBA such as the NBA Sports Science Committee and the Junior NBA Leadership Council. Additionally, Burgos serves on the NBA Gatorade Advisory Board. Burgos resides in Minneapolis with his wife Noemi, two boys Jesus and Joel, and son-in-law and daughter Quandre and Cynthia King. His oldest daughter Atia lives in Los Angeles, California.

Haygo is the CEO of DGI in Miami Fl; a sales and marketing company and has been working in the Caribbean for 32 years having represented over 100 brands during that time. Haygo was born to an Armenian family in Istanbul, Turkey and migrated to Canada with his family at the age of 10. Mother Anchari’s (seva) service as a healer began with her work in the field of allopathic medicine, where she worked and studied nursing at several hospitals in New York. She traveled throughout Asia, Europe, North, Central and South America.

It was through her Vedic Studies that she discovered the system of AYURVEDIC HEALING. AyurVeda, a Sanskrit word meaning “Science of long life” originated in India over 5,000 years ago. It is considered the Mother Of All Healing Arts; it specializes in holistic natural recipes and prevention of dis-ease through customized nutritional, herbal and other regimens.

Mother Anchari studied AyurVeda in India and the United States with Dr. Bhagavat Das, Dr. Vasant Lad, Dr. Robert Svoboda, Dr. Al Guervaz, Dr. Harish Johari, Dr. Pankaj Naram, Dr. Pratima, Dr. Jyotish Light Miller, Dr. Bryan Miller, Dr. John Cosby and Dr. Donn Weidershine just to name a few.
