All right. Thank you for joining us on our episode of Sam and Summer. I'm Floyd. And I'm Aaron. And we are back, and we're here to talk about everything that is wine, spirits, and sometimes beer. And if you've been listening to our episodes, we've had some really sound ones. We've had the hunt for wine, the hunt for spirits. We've also had uh the uh getting ready for the apocalypse and or stocking up for the apocalypse. And we've also just put out unwinding during the apocalypse. So all specific unique episodes. But now this one we're going to focus on what we've been doing ever since we've been kind of sheltered in. And I don't know about you, Aaron, but you know, made me think a lot about what I've been doing with my life, being sheltered in with my family, my two kids, and my wife, and not being able to go anywhere. I don't know about you. You actually have to pay attention and you have to kind of just step up to the plate. Uh, my wife is still working, she's a teacher, so she's been teaching at home every day. Uh, my kids go to school from about 10 to uh let's say 2:30. And what does dad do every day? He just sleeps, gets on the computer, see if there's any news, and takes care of the kids, cooks lunch, cooks dinner. That's pretty much my routine. Drinks, you know, research for the uh podcast. Oh, a a ton of research. A ton of research. A ton of a ton of research. It's a lot of discovering things about my tolerance that I never knew before. Drinking, uh drinking a ton of wine, a ton of like scotch and bourbons now, too. So it's kind of been this evolution of uh Floyd into uh I don't know what's gonna happen once I go outside and the light hits me. I don't know how many pounds I'm gonna gain, what I'm gonna look like if I'm gonna.

Quarantine 15. For my for me, it's gonna probably be like the quarantine like 50. It's just I don't know what I'm doing.

But uh you up a lot though. I remember the last time I went uh to your place, and uh, I think we should tell our listeners we're doing this from a remote session. Oh, yeah. So the first few episodes we were doing, we were kind of keeping at a distance, but right now we're just kind of staying at our homes. And so uh I remember the last time I went to your house for something, you were pretty stocked up. Like you had done about 17 different shopping runs.

Uh, I definitely stocked up. If uh you've seen any of the pictures that I post on Instagram, it's been crazy. Like, if you go to Unwind Boutique and Instagram, you'll see a couple of pictures that I post. It'll be of everything known to man that I purchased in the last couple of days, weeks, and everything that I had to get stocked up on. You didn't know. This was this was crazy. This was out of the blue. People were hoarding toilet tissue and paper towels. Come on, you were you were going around doing the same thing. Uh, but I am worried about I have blantons all the way.

I I have found, I have actually found a loophole in their schedule uh as to when they release that total wine. So I'm constantly calling and saying, okay, listen, do you have any uh Blantons? Uh and it's funny, a lot of these distilleries have resorted to making hand sanitizer. And so some of them are still resuming their production as usual with making you know different whiskeys and different vodkas and different spirits, but a lot of them have just said, listen, we're stopping the production altogether, and we're just gonna make hand sanitizer out of the alcohol that we normally use to make booze. It's it's a crazy, crazy time.

It definitely is crazy. I think last time you were here, I think we recorded, we were doing our recordings, and I think we did maybe two to three episodes, or I think four. And we were like, all right, let's just get these in place, let's get started so we can start putting them out. And it was like, we don't know how long this is gonna be. We didn't really, we were kind of in the beginning of it, the beginning stages. So as we were hunting and finding everything and gathering, it was kind of like, well, where are we gonna go from here? So let's get a couple of recordings under our belt. And then once we realized, or once they started saying everybody has to stay home, self-quarantine, you know, stay home, stay sheltered in sheltered, you know, everything, closing the parks, we realized we wanted to continue to make some great content. So we were like, all right, we have to invest in uh a remote podcasting uh kind of deal. So that's where we you know got the idea to just get some extra equipment and then do it remotely where we can still produce a great podcast.

So besides actually downloading Squadcast, have you uh dabbled in any kind of online gaming or online streaming? Anything interesting that you've been watching lately? Well, you know what?

I think this is the perfect time to uh maybe let everybody in on what we're gonna talk about. This is kind of uh where we are going with this whole conversation and your great question. But before we do that, do you have anything in front of you that you are drinking at this moment?

Not at all. No apple juice. Come on. Oh, you're going straight apple juice? I'm on the wagon right now. Uh yeah, I'm actually doing that. Um, help me out with it. You know it better than I do. Uh a cleanse. Detox juice. Uh amarut uh cast strength.

Oh, oh, all right. So you're going the uh Indian whiskey.

I'm I'm having a little bit and then I'll probably you know go back to something I normally have, but I'm leading off with this one. Uh it's you've had it before, right?

I've had I've had all the Amroots. I sell them at the store. I've had the Cash Strength, I've had the uh regular whiskey. So I've tried those two that I sell at my store, and uh I'm probably gonna I'm actually starting out with a gruener right now, a glass of grooner. Really? Yep.

That's I would never have guessed that.

No, I you know, it's I've realized I got I have to start becoming more sophisticated as I'm trapped in my house. I can't just go straight for the hard stuff like you can, because you could just pass out and you don't have to worry about waking up the next day and doing anything because you have no kids and no wife. It's you're by yourself.

I wake up at some time between two and five o'clock and uh I just get the day going.

Yeah, so I you know, I have to really pace myself and say, you know what, I'm gonna start out light and then I'm gonna go heavy later at night so that I get a good night's rest during all of this.

But no, I listen, listen, I just want to let you know, I have fish that I have to tend to. If they don't get fed once every three to four days, I don't get the end of it.

Well, that's what we're learning. Sidestep there a little bit. My son has fish and snails. He and guess what's going on with the fish and the snails at this moment?

Dying, or you're cooking them now?

SPEAKER_01 7:08

Well, they're they're dying. We we've noticed that something's not happening throughout this stuck at home kind of deal, and that's not taking care of the fish and the snails. But we've talked to my son and we've said he's got to start really stepping up his game, or sister's gonna be in in control of uh the community of fish and snails that we still have alive. So that's one little side note.

On that note, what do you mean? On that note. So yeah, you call you so so Gruner, though. Tell me, I guess what I mean is what exactly is it? I know we sell at the store, I know what I read about it, but what is it like to actually have it?

SPEAKER_01 7:43

So, Gruner to me is very interesting. I think now that we're getting into that, you know, springish, summer kind of weather, I think it's a nice wine to start out with. It's nice, it's dry, it's from Austria. Um, so it's a really good, solid wine, you know, not too expensive either. You can get a lot of great Gruners, you know, for like that kind of $11, $12 um range where you can stay in and be very comfortable with the price. But just a nice dry white wine that just kind of pairs really well with a lot of things. You know, I like to pair it with like cheeses, crackers, you know, some fish once in a blue moon if I have it. But it's just and it's a nice starter wine. It's kind of like how I feel about Pinot Grigio. It's like Pinot Grigio is just a dry table wine. So I feel like I might have a glass just to kind of start, and then um, I might lean towards, you know, a red wine for the rest of the rest of the night, like you know, a Pinot Noir. I might go that route if I just wanted something nice and light, but an excellent white wine to kind of start out with, you know, a nice little discussion on um our podcast here. So why don't you explain what you're drinking?

Um so it's very different than having something like a bourbon or rye, and it's slightly different than a scotch. You can only call it scotch if it's actually from and made in Scotland. Um but this is kind of oaky and sweet at the same time, very high proof. So I've had half a glass and I'm already kind of feeling it. And this is not uh you know, again, I I've had it with certain people before where they've had half a glass with me neat, and they were definitely feeling it. Cast strength has that kind of profile. It's delicious though. I wouldn't recommend drinking it all night, uh, but it's it's very, very tasty. So it's kind of stumped. Sweet, actually. It's got that oak and that sweetness to it, which I kind of tend to go for, but it you definitely know that it's like a single malt style versus something like a bourbon.

Do you put it on the rocks or you drink it neat?

SPEAKER_00 9:53

You said I put it. I put almost everything on the rocks. I'm I'm you know, again, I'm not one of these people that has white wine with ice cubes in it. Gotcha. No, it's but with spirits, there's really no wrong way to have it.

Oh, gotcha. All right. So you're drinking that and I'm drinking what I'm drinking. So let's get back to that question you had asked. Anything interesting I'm doing personally. Um I'm gonna throw that question back to you. So I'm gonna have you start this out. So being sheltered in, besides what you're doing on a daily basis, you know, you work, you do your thing. Are there any games, any shows, anything that's brand new that you've been kind of or even not brand new, but something that you maybe went back to to kind of revisit that you've watched maybe a long time ago, or you've played a long time ago, that you want to discuss and what you're doing during these times that you're inside the house?

I've been watching quite a bit. It's like I know that when this thing first started off, one of the first movies to get released from the theaters onto uh you know digital format was Star Wars Nine, and we've talked about our ever repeating conversations about Star Wars and which ones we like.

Well, you gotta stop right there for a second. Star Wars, Star Wars Nine, which one is that? Is that you know the prequel? You gotta explain what's the title?

Star Wars Star Wars Nine is the grand conclusion to the 40-year saga of Star Wars. The rise of Skywalker? The Rise of Skywalker. Yes.

Which time when it first seemed when I saw it, when I saw it pre-COVID in the theaters, or when the most recent time I saw it on digital format.

Your initial reaction to the first time you went to the movie theater and you saw it.

I thought it was the best comedy I'd ever seen. It was it is so it is so ridiculous, Floyd. I mean, you've seen it what, one time, two times?

I've seen it once with my family.

SPEAKER_00 11:59

I actually saw it the first time at a one of those dining theaters in Virginia. I forget what it's called, but I have this tradition with my friend where we watch every new Star Wars that comes into theaters in, you know, either Virginia or when he's visiting me up here, but we always make it a point to see it when it first comes out. But I remember there were all these themed cocktails, like you know, most ice lead drinks and really cool stuff like that. But when the movie actually was starting to go and play, and people that were diehard fans were kind of rubbing their chins and being like, Oh, very interesting. Ah, the Emperor's back, and and all these uh different little nuances, they were so into it, they were so focused, and I was just laughing my ass off. Did you think that there was anything about that movie that made any real sense to you? All right.

Remember when we first talked about when we first did our like Siskel and Ebert review of this movie that came out? What was the first thing that came out of my mouth? I said, it's it reminds me of Return of the Jedi. It's a very campy, very fun movie, just fun. It's like it there was no Academy Award winner, there was nothing too terrible about it. I thought it was just a really good movie. And you laugh because you were like, What was I smoking or what was I drinking? And you kept saying, How could I look at that movie and say it was okay, it was good. And I told you, I'm a biased person that I love Star Wars, so you can't ever just talk to me and say, Hey, you know, what'd you didn't you you you should have thought it was terrible? And I'm like, I can't think it's terrible. Out of all the Star Wars movies, I might say some of them I don't really like, but I might like some others more than other, you know, another one. But I said it was it just was can't be good fun.

It was like visually awesome. I mean, visually they had warnings about it saying, if you have any kind of reaction to bright lights or you know, roller coaster rides, do not watch this movie. It was an intense movie visually. I just it's one of those things we've talked about where they keep on releasing these movies and they leave out these major plot points that would explain otherwise why is the Emperor back? Who is this person? Why is this being introduced so late in the game? And you said you know, Disney Plus is designing it so that okay, you know, anything that's unanswered, we'll just create a new series about keep them.

Yeah, keep them subscribing, keep them subscribing. You you leave the plot holes because there's more to fill in later. And that's what I told you. I was like, well, you know, I watched the cartoons like the um clone war cartoons. I couldn't stand it, I couldn't get into it, and you can't get into it, but and like the Star Wars Rebels. And I said, if you got into the cartoon part part of it, just for the story, you'll all these little cartoons they have fill these major, major plot holes that we don't get to see in the movies. And like I said, I thought The Rise of Skywalker was a good movie. I wish they just kind of made you made it more of like a mystery as to Palpatine coming back, but they kind of just threw it right in your face as soon as the movie started. It was kind of like bam, here it is. Um, so I didn't I didn't have a problem. I think what you'll be surprised of is what I've been kind of watching during this whole time I've been home. You know, we talk are we talking movies here or are we talking series? We're talking a series. So being trapped inside the house, and especially being from New Jersey, married to uh a woman that is half Italian, you know, housewives of New Jersey. That's your new so we watch wives. So we actually started re-watching The Sopranos. So we've actually got back into it. My wife was like, you know what? Every night at about nine o'clock, the kids go to bed during the week, and about 9:15, we crack open a bottle, usually like a Cabernet or a Pinot Noir. Uh, because my wife doesn't really drink a lot of white wine. She, for some reason, gives her like major headaches, so she only sticks to reds. So we've been watching The Sopranos from season one, first episode. Um, a couple of weeks ago, she like I said, she approached me and said, Look, why don't we just start watching another show? Because we finished watching uh the Tiger King show on Netflix. We binge watched it. It's a fantastic show, but I'll I'll I'll get back to that. But Carol Baskin. How dare she? Joe Exotic, love it. Um, but we she was like, All right, we gotta get back into it. So we opened a bottle. Um, it was Jordan 2002.

Oh, so I just was like, you know what?

I it was like that Instagram post that you put. I think it was one of your big wines that you were saving. You were like, you know what? Just I gotta do it. I gotta open it. Screw it, I gotta open it. When am I gonna who am I gonna have this with anytime soon? We don't know. So we cracked it open. We had like a nice steak dinner, so we still had some left. So we put on Sopranos, watch we're up to season two, and I think we're into we're in season two right now, I think episode maybe ten. And I think that it's the episode where Tony thought he was going to jail for killing the Bevelaca kid, but it turned out that you know he's not gonna be charged with anything, so he doesn't have to run.

Ending scene, if I recall, is him on his boat and they're playing Wheel in the Sky by Journey. Yes.

And they pushed the fisherman out of the way, they ended up falling in the water. It was it, but it was it, it's such a good show to revisit, but it's so interesting to go through all of the episodes. I swe I swear, my one of my favorite episodes is when uh they go to Italy and Paulie Walnut is going around just calling everybody, what was it? Commandatore Commandori. And he's just anybody sees Commandatori, and they're looking at him like, what's going on with you, buddy? It's I it's still one of my favorite episodes. And we started watching all of them, but it's been really great. Nice glass of wine, pop on the sopranos and kind of you know get that nostalgic feel back. So that's one of the you know, the shows I've been watching.

I love when you get more into the show, you'll you'll kind of get it more. You put a little a few coffee beans in the sambuka, and that's like your end of nighter, and they always refer to Sambuka in the show.

Every and they do shots of Sambuca too. I think somebody had passed away, and I think they were doing shots of sambuka. It was like, uh I can never go that route. Well, you're the soprano. Wait a minute. Going back, you're the soprano king. You go to Soprano Con. Remember? You should know every episode.

I do remember. I mean, I know I'm killing my brain spells with all this uh whiskey but and wine, but uh, I do remember going to that. It I listen, it's it's like a trip down memory lane. You see all these actors that get a lot older. And uh Floyd, you've been to Comic-Con with your kids a few times. Yes, been a Comic-Con. Yep. It's the same concept. I mean, it's it's the only difference about it is that there's a huge emphasis, and it's really funny because uh this was at oh my god, I forget where this was. It was in New Jersey, of course, but I forget the venue it was at, but there was a recent picture of the place that it took um that it occurred at, and they're using it now um for COVID-19 victims. So you talk about timing of going to certain events in the last few months, like oh, I went to Disney, which I did in January, and you take that for granted, not knowing what the world's gonna be like a few months later, but Sopranos Con was awesome.

It's doing do people go around dressed up as like Polly Walnuts or Tony? It's a free for all. So it's kind of like Comic-Con, similar.

It's it's selling merch, it's autographs, lines for autographs. I mean, Uncle Jr., that's the one autograph I really wanted. And I would say there was a three-hour wait to even get to him. And remember, this guy's like in his 90s now, I think. I I I think he's about 90. But uh, who else was there? A lot of people, but it's also the secondary characters, too. So, like the people uh that maybe were in one or two episodes and got whacked. Okay, of course, they're available, they got nothing else going on right now. But uh Furio was there. Um Junior was there, uh Johnny Sack was there. It was a really fun time, it was really, really good. And of course, they're selling all the Italian meats, and they have all these little stand-up and pop-ups, and it's it was it was a lot of fun. Um so you wow, you're already on season two then.

Yeah, or we we we at least try to get two or three under our belt per night. Um, so we try to really catch up as much as we're committed. It's kind of like I said, our new thing because our first binge watch was like I said, Tiger King. We got that out of the way. Um, a couple of episodes, and we just watch, we would watch three, we would watch four, but we started that early because when this all started with uh COVID-19, pretty much the schools were out and there was no dist long distance learning. So my wife was pretty much free throughout the day every day. Um, so we would watch more than just like three or four episodes. We'd kind of just binge it and kind of we got it. I think we got. That show done in maybe four days.

Do you recognize any of the locations? For the tiger? No, not at all. Floyd's being modest with saying that it appeals to him because he's a Jersey guy and we're Jersey guys. This whole show takes place in our immediate area. So we both live about 10, 15 minutes away from the actual Sopranos house.

Well, yeah, it's and it just recently sold. But a lot of the a lot of the scenic play, like a lot of the scenes, actually. My friend used to work on the Sopranos. He was an assistant uh set director, uh location director, and he was, you know, he worked at the Bada Bing, you know where the Bada Bing is. He they filmed a scene where How do you figure I know where the Bada Bing is? So you the Bada Bang, you have there was a they're disgusting, they're demeaning. I bet they are. Um, so the the other scene, if you remember, when Tony Soprano and they try to rub him out in Montclair, that was right around uh right across the street from uh where Dunkin' Donuts is on Bloomfield on Bloomfield Ave. A lot of scenes, a lot of places around town, they they shot it. It was it's so cool to kind of see all those scenes and oh man, I live right down the street from there. I live up the street. Oh my god, I can't believe they shot that scene there. But it's it's such a great show to uh to see. So it's just been that's one of the shows that I've really put a lot of wine and a lot of time into to make sure I get a good amount of episodes in.

Season three. Oh, season three. Okay, gotcha. You haven't gotten there yet, but you will know exactly when you get to the episode. So tell me when you get to the episode, you're like, oh my god, that's crazy. I I know I can't. I'm I'm I want to get to the time capsule.

I want to get to the scene where it's Paulie and Christopher in the woods where they're lost. That's another one of my favorite episodes. Season three. Yeah, that's I that's what I'm talking about. I just can't wait to get to that point. I'm not as up to date on Soprano knowledge as you are, but it's one of those things like you always have that couple of episodes you remember, and that's one of them. So looking forward to catching up with that. Um, as far as movies, you've already explained your movies.

Um I'm going back to a lot of older movies too, and I find that I would watch movies that I would never normally watch under any other circumstance, but because I've gone through so much, I've watched so much, I'm like, I, you know, American Pie is streaming. I haven't seen that movie since I was in college or high school. And I'm like, wow, I'm I'm being taken back to these different times, you know, about going to high school parties and doing funnels of beer and everything. I just think it's really kind of crazy the amount of TV shows and movies I've been watching that I just normally wouldn't have the time for.

So, what are you more doing? Is it more shows? Is it more movies? I did start I did start and finish Ozark. Have you seen that show? I started season one. I think me and my wife watched two episodes and then we kind of just quit because uh the problem with me. It's it's hard. It's hard. The problem with me is like if I have The Walking Dead on, if I have Game of Thrones on back when it was on, if I had any show that I really was a dedicated fan of, I would dump like a brand new show like immediately. I wouldn't even wait. So I think Ozarks fell into that point where it was like, okay, I have other shows that I'm more into. I can't, I like I said, I didn't have time for that. I was like, I just don't have time to start a new show, so I would focus on the shows I was watching. But it's a show that people have told me you gotta you gotta watch.

It's a great, great show. The thing about Ozark, and then it's Jason Bateman essentially laundering money for the Mexican cartel. That's the little tagline of the show. The problem is these shows have been made before in some capacity, like Breaking Bad, and then you have shows like Narcos, you have Sopranos, obviously. And I think that a lot of these Netflix shows have a hard time in their first season or two finding their tone or finding their kind of message or delivery of that message, and then you just gotta give it a little bit of time. And once you get to season three or four, you're like, Oh, I kind of get it now. This is a totally different show on its own, and it holds up against other shows in its own unique way. Yeah. Oh, most definitely. Lethe weapon. I I watched all four, not the series, not the TV series, but I watched all four movies, I think, in a two-day setting. I I I forgot how great of a movie series Letha Weapon is. So, what did you enjoy most about like the Lethal Weapon series? Oh, it reminded me exactly of uh me and you. I you're the responsible guy at home that's too old for the shit. And and I'm I'm the renegade guy at home, you know, just drinking a beer and uh playing with my pets and you know, uh I'm a loose cannon. It's it's the it's the first real buddy cop movie, isn't it?

Yeah, it is. It's funny. It's like so I'm the guy that's like I have like three days to retirement. This crazy out of his mind guy comes along into my life and then just takes it over and makes me regret every decision I do. But then at the end, we go through a lot of you know retire. Then we go through we go through stuff, and then we find we have a such a great friendship, and then we just continue to work together. It's amazing. So so I'm I'm Murtaugh, I believe his name is.

So I would say you're more of a Murtaugh. You you want to be Riggs sometimes. I've seen Riggs come out in you, but once in a blue moon. Once in a blue moon. But you're you're more of a Murtaugh. I would definitely say I'm I'm more of a Riggs, you know? All right, so we gotta find crazy.

So episode one, it's just you know, Murton Riggs. Episode two, I believe it is. Then episode three, they have a uh, you know, like a sidekick come along, Joe Pesci. We gotta try to find that person. Is that who we're working on for the next kind of podcast? So we're working on a sidekick for this to join in on the podcast.

We gotta find somebody who's willing to actually put up with this. I you know, I think they said, like, let's host uh kind of a Zoom podcast where everybody's kind of joining in at a happy hour, which I think is actually a brilliant idea. Um, but it's it's tough because imagine three people on a recording session, you know, and oh yeah, trying to record and talk over each other. Mm-hmm. Well, that's Joe that's Joe Pesci. And I think that was what let's see, what was it? Leaf Weapon 3 is where he came in. Leaf Weapon 4 was getting just a little a little bit too ridiculous. I think that's what most jetly in it.

Um, I think the first one probably was my favorite. I think two was good, but I think three and four, they're just kind of stretching it. It's kind of like rush hour to me. It's like rush hour one was good, rush hour two was good, and then they just had to shove rush hour three down your throat, where it was just like it's just a money grab at that point. It's just like let's be nostalgic and let's just go back to what made us laugh and have a good time. I just wasn't into it. So I would say like I'm always a person that likes the first two when it comes to like trilogies or more than trillions, you know, when they have more movies than trilogies. I I I I just tend to lean towards the first two.

What about the fact that Murtaugh every single movie or every single uh lethal weapon, his house is terrorized, but he never thinks maybe I should move because the bad guys keep on following me. But you know, we talk about drinking and watching these movies and series, but we said Sopranos we said Star Wars is about funky drinks that would come from alien planets, like mixing and concocting different stuff. That Sopranos is about like really hearty red wine, maybe some Italian wine and or some Buka. I have a drink in mind for Lethal Weapon, but I want to kind of hear what you would drink with that series.

Lethal Weapon would I wouldn't drink wine. I think that's wasting the Vertal doesn't drink wine. Um it's it to me, it's it's like what I love about Sopranos and what kind of gets me in that comfort zone with Sopranos, too, is that what you said, they're drinking wine, they're at Vesuvio, they're always drinking and eating. So it kind of makes me feel like that's what I'm only doing now. It's like I feel all I do is what am I drinking tonight? What am I eating tonight? And I think that's why Sopranos is such like a feel-good, like soul food. It's just like comfort food because it's like that's the life I'm living now. Is that my day is only about food and about wine. What am I gonna drink tonight? What am I gonna eat tonight? So that's why I think I kind of gravitate now to Sopranos because it's just like wow, I just wish I was having like this big steak, or I was having this great pasta dish at my father-in-law's house. Rigatoni. Uh it's just, but my father-in-law is like the master of like the stove, he can make anything just fantastic. Any Italian pasta dish, he is on point. So I that's what I'm saying. It's like comfort food, it's like that just something you just love doing all the time, and you can always depend on it. If I was thinking about lethal weapon, any action movie, I kind of I kind of think about, you know, I'm just gonna have a shot of whiskey.

And I'm just gonna shoot down like a beer, you know, like it just I was just gonna say it's it's he's always he uh right before he's contemplating killing himself every night, Riggs. He he's he's always seems to have like a core slider Miller light in his hand, petting his German Shepherd dog, and then he puts the pistol on his head. I I would always say exactly the same. Like you have uh maybe a shot of bullet or a shot of Jack with like a really just awful beer.

Yeah, exactly. You're just like, you know what? I'm just gonna share a shot of this and chug a beer right after, and then just go crazy and run into a wall or go outside and just run naked through the street. It's just one of those things. That's how crazy that movie is. It's not a sophisticated kind of movie. You don't drink a martini before while watching that movie.

Exactly. You yeah, more sophisticated stuff, but it's one of those things that it's just one of those type of movies. It's like Star Wars. Like I feel when I watch Star Wars, I have to have like a soda. It takes me back to being a kid where I like to like like soda, popcorn. It's just I can never sit there and say, you know what, I'm gonna open, I'm gonna open that, you know, 2004 Jordan because you know, I'm gonna watch the rise of Skywalker tonight. No, it doesn't go like that. It's usually like, all right, I'll pop open a can of you know diapepsi and I'll just make a bag of popcorn and watch it. So it's movies make you feel certain ways. It's kind of like food and wine. It's like this whole comfort thing. What makes you get into it? It's like, what's that favorite wine you're gonna movie pairings? Yeah, exactly. It's movie pairings, it's it's just something that's so cool about it where you feel I'm gonna drink this, I'm gonna eat this, and I'm gonna watch this show or this movie. So that's why I think this conversation is so great, is because, like I said, Sopranos to me is like comfort food, comfort drinking. Rise of Skywalker is like you're feeling like a kid again, where you want to have just like you know, a soda and you want to have some popcorn and candy. And then when you think about like a lethal weapon, it's like I just want to have a shot of Jameson's and Chug of Core is Light. It's it just it's it's amazing like these feelings that you get from watching certain movies from like either your childhood or as an adult, you know. I that's how I feel. I don't know how you feel about it.

Netflix is trying to capitalize off this whole let's do reality television thing.

Oi. I know it's it's it's very it's very weird, man. It's it's this is like the time that these guys are just making bank because everybody's trapped at home. It's like making so much money. There's nothing else to do except watch TV shows and binge everything and just put out anything to the masses, and it it's just amazing how it's gonna be when reality snaps its finger and kicks in. How are we gonna live, man? How are we gonna how are we gonna do this? How are we gonna get back to normal? It but it's interesting that how movies, shows, even video games, you know, it pairs with like what you're drinking, you know. How do you feel that night? Are you gonna play this game where uh you know, like a call of duty game and just be up all night playing it with your you know, bottle of uh scotch and just sit there and play it all night? So it's just it's pure craziness. And it's interesting you brought up Lethal Weapon. I think that's hilarious because that was like to me, I was like, this is a little bit before his time. I don't know where he's going with this one, but I'll I'll roll with him.

I I I'm kind of feeling on the whim that this is gonna be a continuation. Uh that I I I think that we in the next episode answer the question uh what else do we kind of watch moving forward? And honestly, just what you'd pose is a question where is life going in general as it relates to uh going out, drinking, socializing, yeah, entertainment, having fun. Do we go back to business as usual, or is there going to be sort of a transition period where you know we just end up like characters in Wally?

No, as you know, it's like we uh in terms of the business, you know, we're doing deliveries. So it's it's it's people are not going out, and you're talking about business as usual or back to normal.

Yeah, this guy's store has become basically a storage garage. And it, you know, listen, we're busy, we're making deliveries to people in the area, but it feels so weird going into the store now. It doesn't feel like going into a store, it just feels like saying, you know, what can we grab and deliver to people to their homes? And people's behavior is just completely different. I mean, I barely even see the people that I am delivering to. It's just leave it on the porch, disinfected, and then text them saying it's on your porch. That's it.

Yeah, is like and you're right, is like this is I feel like there's that's our next episode is like what's gonna be the new normal going forward? Because like we live in this world now where it's like everything is contactless, everything is, you know, don't see anybody, don't touch anybody, don't you know, six feet, stay away, just drop it off and deliver. So, is that the future of what we're doing and what we're talking about? I think it is. It's kind of you know what it it reminds me of. I don't know if it was part one or part two of Lead the Weapon. Let's see if you can remember the movie where Murtow was on the toilet, and there were let me die on the toilet, Riggs. And there was a bomb on the toilet, and Riggs had to help him. This is kind of where we are right now. So we're gonna, you know, we're we're in that.
