Rescuing Citrus Climax and Evading Trouble
Speaker 1Uh, she says, last chance, just put the stuff back and I won't let my boyfriend eat you, eat me, are you serious? You're trespassing, this is my job.
Speaker 2I don't think your job allows your boyfriend to eat human beings.

I zoomed in on where we left off from the last issue, i think. A quick recap Orange Blast and Nate went to check out the secret lab that Orange Blast knew about Moving some of the equipment out to Obie's truck. One of the last things was this I don't even know what to call it like this refrigerator status chamber piece of equipment that was running along with a Linux server. When you opened it you could see Citrus Climax in their old uniform from the old Jolt days. We kind of left things hanging out. What is Citrus Climax look like?
Speaker 2Wow, throw it in my hands. I had all these cool pics. I was waiting for you to like snap one out on me. So we, what is Citrus Climax? I think we are going to go like you can't use the name Climax and not go sexpot, but maybe we flip it And it's like the hottest guy I like that.
Speaker 1Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Speaker 2You know he's the kind of guy wore half shirts in the 90s Yeah, washboard abs, feathered hair because same uniform as before. So he's got like the 90s feathered hair. He's a Ray Bams wearing kind of guy.
Speaker 1Nice, nice.
Speaker 2A lot of his way to like show off his biceps in every potential advertisement. It's kind of a Roblo vibe, is what I'm thinking.
Speaker 1I like it. I like it, yep, yep. Age wise was he younger than you, older than you.
Speaker 2I think Nate was the youngest, okay.
Speaker 1Okay.
Speaker 2So if he was, if he's OG, then maybe he's just like a little older, or was a little older at the time. Gotcha, gotcha, Like, because Nate was 17. So maybe he could vote, but couldn't quite drink legally.
Speaker 1Gotcha, gotcha. This guy, this citrus climax in the container, unconscious wired up, looks like he could easily be in his 30s, early to mid 30s, easy. So yeah, yeah. And then, while you guys are there looking into this human refrigerator, you hear motorcycle outside kind of pull in right. You can hear it in the distance and then you can hear it get louder as it pulls up.
Speaker 2This is sounds like familiar, like a classic Indian that we may have heard before or No, no, so I think I think it's unfamiliar.
Speaker 1It's not a cruiser heavy sound. It's got that whiny racing sound to it.
Speaker 2Oh, like a okay, yeah, yeah, Like a Kawasaki Yeah.
Speaker 1Yes, yes.
Speaker 2Oh, you see this man. Yeah, that can't, that can't, be that can't be how sure as shit looks like Jason, but he should be way old.
Speaker 1It should be this dude. Hey, it looks like a kid in here That that can't be Jason.
Speaker 2I'm trying to get him up and out of here And I don't know, did you hear that motorcycle We got? we got a B-Feed man.
Speaker 1I did, and you can see his orange glow start to envelop his body, right, because he's you know he's getting ready for whatever's outside, because he doesn't know either, right? So he's kind of got this orange aura that's kind of taken over his body, not like Colossus living steel, but he's kind of got like an orange glow happening.
Speaker 2Nice, when he powers up Yeah. At the glow like very gory slash.
Speaker 1When you said that I knew exactly where you were going, i knew where he's going. When you said the glow I can hear it.
Speaker 2Yes, if you ever have Shogun Harlan show up in this game. I will send you on Who is Shogun Harlan?
Speaker 1Yes, not him. I have to watch that tonight.
Speaker 2Right, all right. We need to get the hell out of here, man.
Speaker 1We sneak it out. We're going out the front. I mean my truck's out there, so whoever's out there? they seen the truck.
Speaker 2They seen the truck. Let's do the. I mean we're carrying somebody's body.
Speaker 1We're going to take him out of here. Unhook him.
Speaker 2Yeah, i don't think he wanted to be here, unless this is how he stays all young. He wasn't that vain.
Speaker 1I didn't.
Speaker 2I'll reach in. Is he hooked up to any electrodes or anything?
Speaker 1Yeah, there are electrodes on him and he's got like a breather like down his throat, over his face kind of thing. He's right in there. Pretty good, you could pull that stuff out. But yeah, he's more than just monitoring tools. Right, they've actually got him. What is it? It's called ventilated, is that right? I think so, yeah.
Speaker 2You know, if this were a hospital, Obi, I would not be pulling him out of here. This is a freezer in a warehouse the middle of nowhere, Well near the dog tracks. So I'm pulling him out of here because I don't think he, I don't think this is a good way for him.
Speaker 1All right, i'll back your play. Right, i did I just, you know, i don't know what this thing is doing, but I don't know what it's doing either. What, uh, what are we going to do about that motorcycle?
Speaker 2a couple superheroes, so just walk on out of here and they give us some trouble and keep going. All right, all right, we're not aiming to cause any trouble.
Speaker 1We're not aiming Nice. Yeah, getting him out, getting him disconnected, pck, not a big deal. I think the machine starts to fire off different warnings when you do that, right.
Speaker 2Not loud Anything, i understand.
Speaker 1I think just that some of these things are getting disconnected. Like it can't register his heartbeat anymore.
Speaker 2Yeah, like we-we-we-we-we got it Right. Yeah, stuff like that. Okay, cool, so it's doing that.
Speaker 1But you get him out. You kind of either fire men's, carry over your shoulder or however you want to do that. Are you carrying him or are you giving?
Speaker 2him the OB. I'm carrying him. Ob's-ob's yeah, i'm carrying him if I need to get out of there.
Speaker 1Yeah, you guys get to the front door and you can see two folks outside that kind of look like they were arguing back and forth, a woman and a man. The woman is in some type of security outfit but she is armed, where most security folks usually aren't armed armed. The other guy he's in motorcycle leathers but he doesn't have a security suit on.
Speaker 2What are they arguing about? Hold-hold-hold OB back.
Speaker 1Yeah, yeah, yeah, just drop a little bit. Yeah, no, no, that's fine. She's like. You know, i don't care, we're behind, you're half the side gig that you're running. It's erratic, it's not consistent. If they were paying you consistently I wouldn't be on your back. And then he's like it's new. I've only been there three weeks. I got to prove myself, but the money's good, i don't want to just walk away. So they have that kind of conversation.
Speaker 2They just happen to be here, as far as it seems like She's got a security uniform on So yeah, but it isn't like we've been alerted to the presence of people doing bad stuff. We're going to rush in. I'm wondering if we can sneak up out of here. Is there a way?
Speaker 1You tell me there's probably more than likely. I mean, this is just a regular warehouse. There's probably another way out. There's certainly windows, right, it's all one story. It's a prefab building, i have to believe, right, i don't have a reason for there to be one way in, one way out. So I got to believe there's another exit or another way to get out, maybe even a garage door right, loud, no, that would be loud, yeah.
Speaker 2I'll go look and see if there's a door out the back of the side opposite of where they are right now. See if we could just give them a slip.
Speaker 1Gotcha, gotcha, your truck's out front.
Speaker 2Yeah.
Speaker 1Okay.
Speaker 2That I've got a plan for that Gotcha, gotcha, yeah, let's. Yeah.
Speaker 1Let's say there is a door directly on the back side of this warehouse. Maybe it's a little larger than the front doors so you can move other bigger things in. It's not raised like a dock or anything like that, It's just like a double door. So anything bigger than the front door they can move stuff in from the back side. Okay, And I think maybe the driveway you could have pulled around to the back right And it was big enough to support maybe a van or bigger vehicle holding some stuff, Maybe not a big semi but something big. Okay.
Speaker 2We're going to slip out the back on my plan, just so you know. Interject with whatever die roll as you think are necessary, right? No, that's good, because I think.
Speaker 1Yeah, yeah. We see her flashing a light in through the front door. She tells the guy stay by the bike, we take a quick look through here and then we go home, right, and she's flashing the light around And he's like what about this truck? So she's at the front door threshold being cautious, all security person like not just rolling up in there, what is What's? I'm trying to think of a name for a. She says this is Serbus Security. If anyone's in here, i need you to come on out. You're trespassing Bye.
Speaker 2Do I get off this?
Speaker 1lady, let's make that a perception check.
Speaker 2Sounds good to me, all right. So perception check would be rolling against my int.
Speaker 1Yes, i'm looking at. Hang on, let me bring up my mods table. I think you might be clean. I don't think there's anything funky here. There we go. View a new window. Yep, just your int against your int, or less, no modifiers, you're good?
Speaker 2Okay, let's see my int. And we're on 3D. Here we go Right at Hit it 12 on 12.
Speaker 1Nice, She looks legit. Like her uniform looks legit. I think it's got like some stylized three-headed glyph right Dog glyph on it as an icon. She's got like a security utility belt right. Like I said, she's armed. You can see that She's got whatever else goes on that belt So that all kind of looks legit. The only thing that's funky and she's made the guy stay back right So he's not there side-by-side with her, So he doesn't look like he's part of whatever this job is. But he drove her here. So that relationship, whatever's going on there, is weird, But she looks legit. This is in a con that she's serious about doing this thing, Okay.
Speaker 2Okay, does she see? Yeah, that's good, that's good. So she's a security guard doing security guard stuff.
Speaker 1Yeah.
Speaker 2I think I'm going to. I'll be like unglow, unglow, let's get out of here. And I'm going to try to open the door and see if we can slip out the side. She's coming in Right. Close the door, real care-flag.
Confrontation With Intruders
Speaker 1Nice. I want to say yeah, you guys, you can pull that off. We don't need to check for that, Because you can hear the mail. He says hey, there are three people here, oh shit. And then she goes fuck, where are they?
Speaker 2All right, I hand over Jason aka Citrus Climax to Obi What are the car? I'm going to deal with this. And then, once I've handed it over around Gotcha, gotcha To the guy, not attack, just boom, I'm there.
Speaker 1Right, whoo. Uh, yeah, he doesn't look startled right, but he does look like a little boy Right, but he does get defensive right. Um, you're faster, uh, because you're the speedster here. I'm not looking at stats or anything, but I think thematically you're the speedster, so you get the, you get to make the first call. What do you want to do?
Speaker 2What do you want to say? Hands, uh, palms towards him. Hey, uh-huh, we're leaving here in peace. I don't want any trouble with you. Whoever had this warehouse had one of my friends And I'm taking care of him.
Speaker 1Uh, and he's, he's like it's not up to me, I'm, I'm just a boyfriend.
Speaker 2All right, Hang back. How'd you know how? there were three people.
Speaker 1It's kind of what I do.
Speaker 2Okay.
Speaker 1Dana And she comes from the door right And uh, she uh moves to put a hand near her hip, but she doesn't draw anything. Whoa, whoa, easy, uh, and her eyes also uh kind of emit uh like bright, bright light. In fact, i think it's nothing but uh, bright, uh. Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah, bright, bright light in her eyes right, and she says, uh, you're trespassing here.
Speaker 2Hold my hand out the shield a little bit Yeah yeah, yeah, yeah. Well, whoever your employer is, kidnap the friend of mine. I assume Obi's like in the back like make it a long arc to carry.
Speaker 1It's acing towards the truck Yeah, yeah, yeah. And and she says, uh, so is all that stuff in your truck that belong to your friend too?
Speaker 2It doesn't belong to anybody.
Speaker 1It belongs to this building that I'm supposed to be securing that you're trespassing on.
Speaker 2Okay.
Speaker 1Uh, i will say Obi can. Nah, he won't. I was going to say, uh, the the boyfriend, right, obi can make it to the truck, but the boyfriend knows uh where. Yeah, it won't be sneaky, the boyfriend will know and he will tell Dana, hey, there's the other one. Yeah, that's fine Uh, but they both see him carrying somebody, right Uh. And then you can see Dana's eyes kind of power down a little bit And she's like, uh, you're saying that guy was in the building.
Speaker 2I'll show you the cooler or whatever, where they'd stuck him.
Speaker 1Uh, she says, no, we probably shouldn't go back in there. I've never actually been in the building and I don't know what kind of monitoring stuff is in there. Let's move this equipment out of your truck so I can put it back. It's not going to happen, it's not your equipment and your trespassing.
Speaker 2I understand what you're saying.
Speaker 1You can keep your friend.
Speaker 2You got to tell me who who's paying your bill. Is that person kidnapped?
Speaker 1She said you can go to Sarah best security and ask and give them this address. I work for service security. This is a client of theirs. I have no idea who it is. It's on my route.
Speaker 2Why don't you just go on to the next place on your route?
Speaker 1And then her eyes flare back up. She says that's not going to happen.
Speaker 2I guess we're going to do this.
Speaker 1Nice Start of the truck, all right.
Speaker 2Uh, segment one That's nobody Right.
Speaker 1So segment two it's you. What's your decks?
Speaker 2My decks is 13. Okay, cool, it's you and the boyfriend but you go before the boyfriend, okay. Right now I am planning on trying to keep their attention until OB drives off, so I am now going to work in my variable power pool. Yes, activate, can't touch the phone. Activate, can't touch this. And yeah, it's. If you're in can't touch this.
Speaker 1Yes, For the folks at home, we can safely assume that Nate would have rearranged this pool before combat started. There's plenty of time to do that And so we're not making that check now and I'm cool with that. I got a little bit of you're not using knockback and I'm like, yeah, I know, but we'll add it in right When we get there. Right, There's a lot to add in in one shot. It was our first game, right, It's fine. So what I'm saying here is it is easy. You and I, like I said in the first episode, we have a shorthand and it is easy to assume Nate would have reconfigured out of combat once he heard the motorcycles, what he needed, And that is I'm totally cool with that. So you're going with can't touch this and fists of fury. You get to go first before the boyfriend gets to go. You both go on this segment.
Speaker 2Okay, then.
Speaker 1And OBS slower than you. He's speed two.
Speaker 2Okay, yeah, i think I'm not going to worry about the guy who doesn't have a gun or glowing eyes, who just says he can find people. I'm going to assume he's less offensive. Just the boyfriend. Unfortunately, though, he's going to get more offensive because I'm going to surge forward and try to disarm the officer Gotcha, she said her name to us.
Speaker 1Dana.
Speaker 2Dana. That's it. Yeah, dana, i'm going to try to disarm Dana. That is my plan one.
Speaker 1Gotcha, gotcha, and of course we don't have like a disarm maneuver, but I think there is an old champions, which is crazy. Oh no, grab, grab me work. Yeah, great, i think grab is good, grab works.
Speaker 2Okay.
Speaker 1We'll grab. Yeah, so grab will put you out of minus one on your CV And it'll be minus two to your DCV for until your next action. Does that make sense? to your next? Yes, cool, let me jump over here. Okay, i might. So her. Her dex is 11.
Speaker 2So it's 12, 12, 13 minus 1 right, 12 minus 11, so I'm rolling 3d6 And I've got a 1 to the good.
Speaker 1Yep.
Speaker 2Okay.
Speaker 1Yeah, I was choking on that for a second.
Speaker 2Yeah, I'm still. I'm still not sure. I Put up the dex as a reference, but I don't think that's the number I'm actually going against. I think I'm going against 12.
Speaker 1Yeah, 12 for the minus one. Yeah, so you're one to the good. So you need 12 or less. Whoo, there we go.
Speaker 2Yeah, Matt.
Speaker 1Yeah, yes, yes, yes, yes, Yes, yeah, no, so you have, you have her gun. So is that what you were after?
Speaker 2Yeah, you, so you have exactly what I was after I Reach around, whoo, yank that thing out, but undo the snap, because I assume she's got a nice holster there. Undo the snap and I Don't know if you consider it's all one action. But the next intent is pop the clip and make sure that the you know if there's a single round in the chamber, it's out.
Speaker 1Nice, nice done. Yeah, i think again you're being a speedster. That's your, that's your special effects, that is always. You can do that, you can pop it all out.
Speaker 2Okay, bummed right up in her face. So yes, yes.
Speaker 1So the way I picture it is you're up in her face, you guys are face-to-face, so you're facing the warehouse. She's looking at you. In my head and you correct me. The truck is kind of off to the side, maybe behind where you are.
Speaker 2I See that that's.
Speaker 1That's where my head that yeah and the OB is near the truck, either coming in on the passenger side or Coming in on the driver's side. The boyfriend is probably closer to where you are, close to the bike, so he's probably a Short run to the truck, right if he's gonna traverse that distance. But he's close, yeah, so he's closer to where you are, i Think. I think we can hear OB say oh shit, i can't see. Oh, Man.
Speaker 1I think, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. So you hear him say that, right, and then that's now we're into segment three. Ob will go and Dana goes. She's faster than OB, so, yeah, her eyes flare up, right, but I think you saw this coming and These energy beams. Just she says, so have it your way, right, as she's looking right at you and she fires these energy beams right out her eyes. Crazy, that is crazy. I still got us. She still has to make. There was CV checks. Now what you can't, oh, no, you, i will see. You've got some options You have can't touch this. So, yeah, you might be fine.
Speaker 2See, we'll see. I'd like to be not touched by.
Speaker 1Yeah, i was gonna say the other option is to dodge, but you you end up giving up an action to to dodge Your CV right now. And is that a minus two for the grab right? It's 11 or less for her right now because you dropped to 11.
Speaker 2She's got 11 but can't touch this. What does that do her?
Speaker 1that will let you soak up the damage.
Speaker 2Gotcha.
Speaker 1Okay, right, she's gonna have to do a Shhh. All things being equal, if this is just a normal energy blast, she's got to do a lot of damage to get through, because you've got plus 20 there already, right on top of whatever your other Defenses, and I think it's 10 the last time I know you're at 21 there. Yeah, you might be fine, oh.
Speaker 2We'll see.
Speaker 1Yeah, you might be fine.
Speaker 2Don't, don't keep me excited.
Speaker 1All right. So here's the attack roll 11 or less. Whoo, just made that. That's crazy dang. All right, so It's a flash. So it's 46 flash and 66 energy blast.
Speaker 1Wow, let's do the flash first. We count the core and those are the phases. You're affected And it's all light. So it's like blinding flash of light. Yeah, because what it's gonna do is it affects your site, it reduces your CV value and perception rolls down to six. It disoriented the target so they cannot be sure which direction is which. So here's the 46. So that's one, two, three, four phases that you. You have this condition. Here's the one, two, three, four, five. Six Is the actual damage. Yeah, so it's 20 knockout. But between your base defense plus you can't touch this. I think it's just a flash that disoriented you. Okay, maybe she doesn't get a clean hit Or enough to get a solid hit Because you're in motion, but the flash does affect you. I think OB says And you've worked with it would be before in the past. So he says hey, i'm an Easter room man, i'm gonna do it right. And usually when he says I'm gonna need some room right, that means he's about to explode. The problem with his explosive powers is it's friend to foe, yeah.
Speaker 2That means that I Have no idea if he's so close to Jason, aka citrus climax, or not right.
Speaker 1The assumption is he's still carrying him?
Speaker 2Is he point zero or does it? is citrus climax going to get hurt?
Speaker 1by this. I Don't know. I'm mechanically no, because OB has him and OB is not gonna be affected by it and it was actually hanging on to him, so he won't be, but the truck might be and anybody in his area effect might be. But he's also kind of panicky right because he can't see mm-hmm. Right, and he's afraid that you know One I can't see. And now in the hits coming, Oh man.
Speaker 2I don't want to get. Okay, it's on now.
Speaker 1So the other thing is in champions talking is free, Presence attacks are free. They're almost instantaneous. So if you think there's a thing you can say, yeah.
Speaker 2I got it.
Speaker 1Okay, well, actually not for OB. Oh Okay, it doesn't. Yeah, so your presence attacks, you can still talk to OB and, and, but he's not under your influence, okay, right.
Speaker 2Right, right. Hey, man, i got a gun. I Think we're okay.
Speaker 1And I think he says well, i'm gonna start to countdown then, which means he's, he's, he's giving you a little breathing room before he explodes. Okay, because he thinks that's his move, since he can't see, that's a good move.
Speaker 2It's a good.
Speaker 1We're. That was two, three, four. That is me, and then that must mean it's also the boyfriend. But you go before him.
Speaker 2Let's see. Ah, here we go, we're outside and, yes, i am gonna pull a dirty trick because the flowers are in her eyes. So I got those dirt in her eyes.
Speaker 1Oh Nice.
Speaker 2Kind of squats down and he's gonna scoop up as much dirt, dirt and dust as he can to throw right up to where her face was When she flashed him your CV is s6.
Speaker 1I Know that's thinking. I'm trying to figure out What. how can we boost what you got?
Speaker 2I'm attacking an area, if that makes any Benefit or difference in what they go for.
Speaker 1Oh, yeah, yeah, Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, that becomes different because you just got to hit Yeah, you just got to hit that area, which is a six, so that becomes a yeah. So what happens here is we did this before with area attacks. You are targeting that area, which is a CV of six, and yours is six, so it's 11 or less right. Whatever you roll, she's got to make a defense check against 17 on 3d6. Oh, but you still got to get. You still got to get under 11.
Speaker 2I can only go one way with my mental powers Here, saying all that, no, i'm hearing is you didn't get that. You know you didn't get that. Yeah.
Speaker 1So I think yeah, i think you're chucking dirt right off to her right side, right, Because you're a little bit disoriented and you are you. I mean, if she was standing, if she'd be buried in the dirt right now, right, she says Last chance, just put the stuff back and I won't let my boyfriend eat you.
Speaker 2Eat me, are you serious?
Speaker 1You trust passing. This is my job.
Speaker 2I don't think your job allows your boyfriend. We've superseded your job responsibilities. When you threatened it, have your boyfriend, eat me.
Speaker 1I'm cutting you a deal here. Right, Take your friend right, Just put the equipment back.
Speaker 2Friend of mine. Save the guy who owns this place's life. You got a big debt to pay or someone else is gonna get killed.
Speaker 1Right now I can't let you leave without equipment. I don't have to turn you in, you can keep your friend.
Speaker 2I'm Nate's about to say gas, but he's got to push one more thing. What someplace you aren't watching? They can help me pay for my friend to not get killed.
Speaker 1Jay doesn't understand. What are you asking for, oh?
Speaker 2He's. Nate's question is I Still got a score. I gotta get some money.
Speaker 1Gotcha, gotcha, gotcha, gotcha, gotcha.
Speaker 2I'll try to rephrase it Yeah, yeah, if I walk away from this, i Can't. I can't pay off my friend's debt. So is there some other place? you don't watch?
Speaker 1She's taken too long right to figure out how to answer the question. if she gonna answer the question, some of it is proud, right, this is her job, this is what she does, right? but the boyfriend says We're gonna see that new Mario movie on Saturday because she's off and she doesn't say anything.
Speaker 2Well, no, let's put this shit back.
Speaker 1Yeah, i think I think you can hear the truck open and it'll be like are okay, alright, like he can see again, and He puts Jason in the passenger side. I think Dana just sighs, but she doesn't say anything. Still, maybe you can feel her hear her walk toward the bike. I think in the panels, if we're watching right as the audience, we see her give her boyfriend Kind of a look like you shouldn't have said that, but that was good, right, that was alright, right. And then, as your vision starts to clear out and come back in, you can see him helping OB move stuff from the truck, the equipment or whatever to just inside the door.
Speaker 1And maybe today's Thursday, right, and he's like, yeah, we're off, well, she's off on the weekend. So, yeah, thanks, man. Yeah, i think the whole time, maybe it's two, three trips That they take. She's just kind of watching the whole thing play out. The boyfriend pretty much tries to keep his back to you and away from you, right, but he's, he's In earnest trying to help move this stuff in and wrap this up so they can be on their way.
Speaker 2You, you legit eat people.
Speaker 1Yeah, it's not like that. Yeah it's, it's not like that. It's not me, it's not me, right You?
Speaker 2got some kind of demon, you or?
Speaker 1nah, yes, yeah Y'all. You should probably get your friend to hospital or something right?
Speaker 2I think that's the plan.
Speaker 1I think that point. You guys kind of make eye contact where he doesn't want to and If you give me a perception check I might tell you some things.
Speaker 2Well, i will roll dice, but I can't tell you for sure that I'm gonna get it. I Perception against my intelligence, which is an 11. Yes, 14, yeah he, yeah he.
Speaker 1He's got a weird kind of look about him. He almost looks a little bit familiar to you, but you can't quite place it right. But he quickly gets out of your field of vision, put some distance between the two of you. He doesn't want to be close to you, around or near you, but he's having a conversation with you. He's like yes, it's the thing I do and It's not really eaten, but I could see how somebody might think that Especially since your girlfriend kind of said those exact words.
Speaker 1Yeah it may look like that. All right, they get on his bike, she hops on the back. I think they close up the front door and that kind of stuff. They don't move the equipment beyond that front lobby area So everything doesn't go back where it was. It's just kind of stage it right there. He's very lifted.
Speaker 2Yeah.
Speaker 1Yeah, i think the boyfriend right, he was kind of starting the stages there kind of with that thought in mind and As he fires up his motorcycle, He's like Saturday We're getting brunch, right, and then we're gonna see That Super Mario movie, right, and we might go play some pool after that, right, it's our day off. And I think he wheels around the front of the truck and back around and out the road.
Speaker 2Was messed up, Bobby.
Speaker 1Yeah, let's, let's get this dude because he's not ready to call him Jason. Yeah, let's get this dude to the hospital, or something.
Speaker 2Let's do that.
Speaker 1And he backs out.
Speaker 2We coming back Saturday of course, we're coming back Saturday if we're both still alive.
Speaker 1Yeah, cuz we could use that money.
Speaker 2Yeah, we could read I keys that money. Glad you didn't have to blow up.
Speaker 1Man, i'm gonna mess up the truck. Sorry, i got that gap insurance, it'll be fine.
Speaker 2It's a nice truck.
Speaker 1Yeah, i blew up the other one. This is, you know, this year's model. I got a. I got a start parking away from where the action's gonna happen.
Speaker 2Mm-hmm.
Speaker 1But I'm getting old and I don't want to walk it all in all the time not Really a problem I have. We're too. Next, let's say you guys, are you? are you gonna drop Jason off at the hospital?
Speaker 2Yeah, I'm gonna do for him, yeah, yeah, we got to take care of them. Make sure he's okay. It's a hospital in Orange Park, not far from there. All right, I'll swap this mad is where we will go.
Speaker 1All right, i'll swap this map around. So he's in His citrus climax costume. I'm assuming emergency rooms where we're going right. Oh, that's the wrong man.
Speaker 2Yeah.
Speaker 1So what do you tell The staff when you, when you bring him in and you carrying him, because he's still out, he's still unconscious, he isn't come, he hasn't come around, moved or anything.
Speaker 1Let's say he is breathing on his own, his heart is beating Right, good, good, but he's still out, unconscious, no movement or anything and now you two will walk it, him in here And maybe, yeah, maybe, the staff, they They get a cart to put him on, since one of you are carrying him, right, and you set him up there and Rose, that's her name, right, she looks at him and his suit and then she looks back at you too and she's like I'm listening.
Speaker 2We jump back to the it over and unconscious citrus climax in the truck and Nate says, if we tell him that we found him in a fridge in the warehouse, that warehouse lock it down. So we just found him.
Speaker 1All right, no, yeah, no, you're right. you're right, i didn't, i didn't think about that. That is, that's a solid plan. Yeah, do we know him?
Speaker 2Yeah, we know him All right. I think we know him All right.
Speaker 1Um Yeah, so Rose is like so this Jason, is he a drug user?
Speaker 2No, no, he's clean.
Speaker 1Any trauma? Do you know if he was a legend or hurt any kind of way, any kind of hope?
Speaker 2He was on patrol. He hit the panic button. We showed up and found him like this.
Speaker 1Okay.
Speaker 2I'm sorry, i don't have any more info.
Speaker 1All right, oh, they, i think. Some more staff come out and I don't have a medical background, so they're doing all the medical things to him on the card And they start to wheel him off and Rose hands you a clipboard and she says if you fill out some contact information, we'll see what we can do for your friend And we'll stay in touch with you.
Speaker 2Okay, i'm, i'm going to sign. Leave OB's burner phone.
Speaker 1Nice, yeah, yeah, yeah, that works, yeah, cool.
Speaker 2Put a fake name So we're in so much trouble. I used to be a hero. You do remember that right.
Speaker 1Nobody says we still are right, we still are. We're not red eye man, we still are heroes.
Speaker 2Red eye used to feel really far away from what we do tonight. I don't know how much farther away he is anymore. Oh man.
Speaker 1A bad night man, there's some rough nights, but not like red eye. Red eye, there's dirt and dirty. And then there's something else, and I don't have words for red eye is He's beyond dirty. We're not there, trust me. He's got to come up through the gutter to get to dirty. We cracked me up OB. All right, cool, We can cut that. What do you want to do next?
Speaker 2Go back and check on my wife and kid man. I know that we have the best possible security for him.
Speaker 1Yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, you do. And we put them up at a hotel. I don't know if we named or picked a hotel, but I know we left them.
Speaker 2I feel it was a radison, I think it was nice like downtown.
Speaker 1Yes, yes, yes, yes, with Cherry Bomb and her company doing security.
Speaker 2Yes, exactly.
Speaker 1I think leaving the hospital, walking out of the hospital, if you don't see him, ob does a police car kind of pulls up. I think in my head I envision there's emergency service vehicles where they stage. They've got an area outside where they stage him And I think a police car kind of pulls in there in that staging area. Nothing crazy, nothing weird. What is strange is it's Eric Jones that gets out of the police car.
Speaker 2Eric Jones AK3Pain. Well, i don't know if he's remembering that name.
Speaker 1Yeah well, maybe right, because the problem is right. The cop at the house said he was Eric Jones and there was three of them, right, and so, yes, this dude looks like, yeah, that Eric Jones or 3Pain, and he's in uniform and he's walking toward the hospital. But he just got out of a cop car. He has not seen you two yet, but OB seen him and OB is like you want to get this guy. We owe that bastard.
Speaker 2Because he's 3Pain. Why would 3Pain be coming to the hospital? I don't know What if 3Pain stole this guy's. look Man.
Speaker 1I don't know about it. I just if I could lose my abilities and everyone else loses theirs, the world would be fantastic, because some people I got some strange shit that they could do right. It's not enough that that dude could be three people, now he can look like other people too.
Speaker 2Maybe Just a theory. Hang back, you know I can run away from him.
Speaker 1All right, i'll be in the truck. I'll get the truck ready.
Speaker 2Start strolling up Officer Jones.
Speaker 1He stops and he looks at you and he's kind of got a grin. It's like, how are you doing?
Speaker 2Hey, officer Jones, it's good to see you again.
Speaker 1Likewise, How's the family Safe? That's good. This isn't about you today.
Speaker 2What's it about?
Speaker 1It's another contract I'm working on.
Speaker 2So a friend of mine is in there and if your contract is, my friend, that's not good. Oh, who's your friend? If I tell you my friend's name, will you honestly tell me if you've got a contract on him or not?
Speaker 1Oh for sure I'm not that guy. I'm a professional. That's why I'm not telling you who my contract is. If they match, i'll let you know, so you can walk away, fair enough.
Speaker 2Now Rich is trying to think of a surname for you. The first thing that came to mind is a character from X-Men, and that's not good.
Speaker 1That's funny because I was starting to write down names of singers and I'm like maybe I shouldn't do that.
Speaker 2That's the surname of a singer that you threw down. I had Hendrix down. Jason Hendrix sounds cool.
Speaker 1It does sound cool.
Speaker 2I think you got it in one, my friend.
Speaker 1Done deal, Jason Hendrix.
Speaker 2Oh, look at three. pain Jason Hendrix.
Speaker 1And now all the grin and the smugness drains out of his face and he's like no, that's not my guy. Are you telling me Jason Hendrix, aka Citrus Climax, is in that hospital?
Speaker 2I am.
Speaker 1Man, you're just full of bad news. And then he turns around and he starts walking back to his cop car.
Speaker 2Well, what's this about?
Speaker 1Not only are you full of bad news, you don't even know how deep you're in. Jacksonville is too small. You should probably. Phoenix is nice. Out West is nice. Idaho is good. I don't know how you found Hendrix, but you should have left him buried where he was. This place is going to be a hot bed here soon, And I don't want to be here for that.
Speaker 2I don't want to be here in a hot bed.
Speaker 1Damn man. You making my job hard, Nate, He's a friend of mine. He's a friend of mine. Yeah, he gets in the cop car and he slams the door and the cop car kind of backs out and spins around and he takes off.
Speaker 2Head back to the truck Get in.
Speaker 1I know he's like what the heck You tell that dude? I need words like that.
Speaker 2Use your words more, ob, you find out this guy is a pure professional. He's terrible. What he does is terrible. He's basically evil. He thinks he's professional. I asked him, he said he was in for a contract. You called it. He said it's three pain. There is no real Eric James, probably Jones Eric Jones. But we was after somebody and I told him Jason was in there and said it wasn't on him. But they complicated things and he left. Would tell me anything else.
Speaker 1We're getting out of here. I don't like complications.
Speaker 2I don't either. It sounds like Citrix Climax is in a bit of trouble, but so small. Wife and son. I'm going to choose my wife and son, but we're going to go check on him and I'm going to make sure Cherry Bomb knows what's up. She used to kind of like him.
Speaker 1I like that.
Speaker 2As we're heading back, I'll be calling Cherry Bomb.
Speaker 1Yeah, yeah, no, i think she answers and she's an upbeat, kind of fun and playful mood. You can hear kind of a crowd in the background, maybe like a mix or a party or something like that, and she's like your wife and kid are good, they're safe. I've got eyes on them. It's been quiet here. Everything's been good at the Rattison. So how are things when you're in? How'd your errand go?
Speaker 2Terrible man, Terrible. You might want to get somewhere where we could talk for a minute.
Speaker 1I can meet you on the roof of the Rattison. I'll have my helicopter bring me over.
Speaker 2You are just showing off girl.
Speaker 1I'll see you there, yeah, and at the Rattison, if you stop in your kid and wife actually maybe your kid's in bed, because I think we did this in the evening.
Speaker 2Yeah, so he's out. Yeah, so he's probably out. Yeah, the late, late show, or something.
Speaker 1Yeah, and it's. it's been mundane, it's been boring not boring, but it's been normal, safe, nothing exciting here at the hotel. I think we can cut to the roof. It's you, obi Cherry. She's got a. I'm not a. I should have looked. I'm not up on my helicopters, but she's got some high tech, sleek, sexy helicopter on the roof. The pilot remains in the helicopter.
Speaker 2It's got a big Wong industries, yeah, on the side.
Speaker 1Yeah, with the logo on it, yeah, and she's got like a matching, a matching kind of flight suit stylish that she's wearing, which she comes down the stairs and walks over to you. I think she gives you and whole be like great big hug, like an old friend kind of hug, and seeing you in ages and it's like it was yesterday, right, kind of thing. So we're getting everybody back together.
Speaker 2Feels like it.
Speaker 1We can be like the Justice League or something.
Speaker 2Exactly. It's like the Justice League mostly rejects in one superstar. It's three-pane guy. He had a contract on somebody in the hospital. Maybe it was Jason, maybe the fact that I knew it was Jason, i don't know. He said it wasn't Jason. We got to deal with him. He's tougher than I am.
Speaker 1And he'll be puts his hand on your shoulder. He's like no, he's not tougher than the both of us.
Speaker 2What a fact he kind of was.
Speaker 1No, I, it's that cop. I thought it was a cop, right. You know, an officer of the law, right?
Speaker 2Okay, did you get the drop on us? He's a pretty smart guy.
Speaker 1There should be some rules about how we, how we do things.
Speaker 2Dress up like a cop when you're a bad guy, kind of monkey shine is that I look at Terry bomb, but I use her like regular ass name, Maggie. I don't know what to do about Jason.
Speaker 1I got to take care of.
Speaker 2Sarah and Mason.
Speaker 1She's like Hendricks I look at like water. I don't even care, You found it.
Speaker 2Yeah, I found it. Was he had to go out and do. He's in the hospital, somebody?
Speaker 1had him on ice.
Speaker 2He's bad. He's not good at all. He was in a coma, so pretty.
Speaker 1And I think she says prettier than me girl, please Never earned it. She said uh, the last time I Had any contact with him He was working with red eye And they were doing some dirty mission that involved Sticking it to what would become Chimera. I never saw Hendricks after that. I did see red eye. I just assume everything went well.
Speaker 2Well, maybe red eyes sold him out. Maybe red eye doesn't know what happened to him. I don't know. I.
Speaker 1Could do some digging when I get back to the office tomorrow.
Speaker 2If you could. He was one of us. How's your family Little wigged out, especially when I told them about treat three, pain and Mason's asleep, he's okay.
Speaker 1What do you want to do about three pain?
Speaker 2I Really wish he didn't exist, but Come in and fill that gap.
Speaker 1She says word on the street is he's good, he's got a perfect record.
Speaker 2Yeah, I could see why it's tough smart. I Don't know if you would walk away from a contract for the right amount of money, but it Might be an option. It might be. I.
Speaker 1Don't know him like that.
Speaker 2It's feeling he takes a lot of pride in Maintaining his contract, so It's probably gonna come down to a slight I.
Speaker 1Think obi's like I got something for him. I ain't worried about it. I Got that fool's number.
Speaker 2You owe him. You got the drop on you something. Fierce, officer. Joe. Wasn't fair. Maggie, if you could, i know I'll keep asking for favors and I'm sorry. I'm gonna see if I can get Sarah Mason out of town. Scares me, though. What if three paint follows them and I'm not around?
Speaker 1I, whatever you do, i think you got to keep all that information off the grid and To a minimum right.
Speaker 2I.
Speaker 1Think it's probably a matter of time before he finds she's here. Right, paper trail money trade, right, right. I know it can't be family right?
Speaker 2I don't If we're cruise ships leave every day Scoots out to the Caribbean or something.
Speaker 1City of Phillip man has some resources, so if he's got those at his disposal to find her, yeah, the best you can do is make sure her movement is not tracked right Off the grid.
Speaker 2You know me, i'm not very good off the grid, so any help you can give I'm trying to cover our tracks, i'd appreciate it.
Speaker 1She said I I'll do what I can, but you know who is good off the grid. And I think she starts to turn the walk away because we all know who's good off the grid And she's walking back toward the helicopter yeah, I just nod. Go over it, Obe.
Speaker 2We bring up red eye. See what we can do.
Speaker 1He's gonna want his payment.
Speaker 2Yes, but we got that we can work Exactly. All right, all right, maybe you have to give your truck is collateral pretty truck that you haven't blown up yet.
Speaker 1No, i think you know We give him his 15. If I know, red eye right, the slate's clean right. He doesn't hold on to, he moves on there right. So But He'll know right, because we're using them and I don't know that. I always trust him. I.
Speaker 2Don't trust him a whole lot either. This is his element. I'm out of mine.
Speaker 1So so we're on the same page. Then I don't always have the words but yeah, this is his house and I don't like it. But I'll call him okay. All right, we can leave you right there, man.
Speaker 2Yeah, that's great.
Speaker 1All right, you enjoy the rest of your evening. Thanks for doing this. This is as always. Oh, thank you. So I love it.
Speaker 2This is super, it's one of the best games. It's so good. It's okay, you're doing awesome.
Speaker 1Man, you gave me a lot to work with. I love all these characters and I love See and Nate. Kind of re-engage with them and and figure out where are we all right now. And I think I feel like we both know not all of these characters are good. I think we know red eyes, probably the worst, but we're the surprises where the other shoes, and I think that's find out. Yeah, yeah, the shoes very good. So all right.
