In this episode with Heather Landex we learned some interesting facts about allergies, and vegans, and the lack of awareness in the hospitality industry, and how it impacts people's lives.

She spoke to the loss of business from restaurants not serving people who are vegans or with allergies.

Working to educate the industry, Heather has also written a book "Inclusive:  The New Exclusive" and shares with us why she came up with that title.

Heather began working in the food service industry in 2000 and has worked in 8 countries,
in over 1000 food service businesses. Since training as an Environmental Health Practitioner
she has specialized in food safety, worked with the World’s largest food safety and safety compliance companies, The Olympic Games, the World’s largest chain restaurant brands, Michelin star restaurants and developed and further specialized into allergy
and dietary preferences beyond compliance and into customer service, marketing and branding.

Why? Heather has personally experienced the wraths of food allergy, is her own style of vegan and travels extensively for work across countries helping restaurants and hotels to keep to food safety and brand standards. She has observed where the areas of weakness are in the food service industry and she has witnessed the best of the best. She also connects the dots within the industry, bringing experts together, as well as innovations and solutions. Heather is passionate about bringing a win-win scenario to the World, where people feel
included when they eat out (including at school, work, conferences and events) and food service businesses are successful, and everyone is happy.
