Our Bible Reading of the Day is Daniel 6. Daniel’s faithful service to King Darius while in exile results in Daniel’s promotion to be one of three presidents in Babylon. Prompted by political jealousy, the other leaders convince Darius to sign a decree that everyone must worship only him. Daniel remains faithful to the true God, praying to Him three times daily. When the jealous leaders bring accusations against Daniel, Darius reluctantly condemns Daniel to the lions’ den. God’s angel shuts the lions’ mouths so Daniel remains unharmed. Darius acknowledges the power of the true God to all the people.
