Aparna Ramaswamy: Blending Ancient Tradition with Modern Mental Health Care
Aparna Ramaswamy, Ph.D., joins Saybrook University President Nathan Long, Ed.D., on the latest episode of the UNBOUND Saybrook Insights podcast. Dr. Ramaswamy discusses the value of integrating multicultural healing practices into Western counseling theory, the acuity of the current mental health crisis, how counselors can continue to serve during difficult times, and how ancient traditions can uplift the human spirit.
Dr. Ramaswamy teaches multiple courses in Saybrook University’s Counseling degree programs. In her private practice, she follows an integrative healing approach that weaves together expressive arts with meditation and conventional psychotherapies that empower her clients to become their own centers of healing and strength.
