Welcome to God's Toolbox the Bible. Today's topic is priorities. Yes, priorities, putting first things first. There's a quote from days of old that I really like. It says, Don't put the cart before the horse. When we think about this visual and we think about the horse in front, hitched to the cart and pulling it, we see forward movement. But if we switch things around and put the cart in front, nothing will happen. There won't be any progress, no action, no motion, because the cart can't pull the horse. And that's the way it will be with our lives. When we don't put first things first, when we don't put God first in our lives. The first and great commandment is to love the Lord your God with all your heart, your mind, and your soul. And the second is like it, love your neighbor as yourself. Then there are other scriptures that talk about bringing the first fruit of your increase to the Lord. The first fruit, the best and the first of all you have, of what God gives you, of your time, your talent, and your resources. And then there's the overarching scripture found in Matthew chapter six, verse thirty-three, that tells us, seek first the kingdom of God, all the things that God has told us to do, and his righteousness. Seek that first, and then all these other things that we desire, that we want, that we have as goals in our lives, will be added. Put God first. That's it. Plain and simple.
