SPEAKER_00

In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen. The grace and peace of our Lord Jesus Christ, the love of the Father, the friendship of the Holy Spirit be with you all. And with your Spirit. Welcome to the celebration of the Daily TV Mass on the solemnity of the Feast of the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus. I'm Father Michael Coots. The televising of this Mass is made possible from a contribution from the estate of Josephine Mary Campanella of Burlington, Ontario. The Mass is being offered for the repose of the souls of Josephine and her husband, James Joseph Campaniela, and for the living and deceased members of their family. May their souls and the souls of the faithful departed, through mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen. As we begin this Eucharist, we ask the sacred heart to forgive us our sins. You came to forgive sinners, Lord, have mercy.

SPEAKER_05

Lord, have mercy.

SPEAKER_00

You are the salt of the earth, Christ have mercy.

SPEAKER_05

Christ have mercy.

SPEAKER_00

You are the light to all nations. Lord, have mercy. Lord have mercy. May Almighty God have mercy on us. Forgive us our sins and bring us to everlasting life. Amen. Let us praise God as we say. Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace to people of goodwill. We praise you, we bless you, we adore you, we glorify you, we give you thanks for your great glory. Lord God, Heavenly King, O God Almighty Father, Lord Jesus Christ, only begotten Son, Lord God, Lamb of God, Son of the Father, you take away the sins of the world, have mercy on us. You take away the sins of the world, receive our prayer. You are seated at the right hand of the Father, have mercy on us, for you alone are the Holy One, you alone are the Lord, you alone are the Most High Jesus Christ, with the Holy Spirit in the glory of God the Father. Amen. Let us pray. Grant, Almighty God, that we who glory in the heart of your beloved Son and recall the wonders of his love for us may be made worthy to receive an overflowing measure of grace through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, God, forever and ever. Amen.

A reading from the book of the Deuteronomy. Moses spoke to the people. You are a people holy to the Lord your God. The Lord your God has chosen you out of all the peoples on earth to be his people, his treasured possession. It was not because you were more numerous than any other people that the Lord set his heart on you and chose you, for you were the fewest of all peoples. It was because the Lord loved you and kept the oath that he swore to your fathers, that the Lord has brought you out with a mighty hand and redeemed you from the house of slavery, from the hand of Pharaoh, king of Egypt. Know therefore that the Lord your God is God, the faithful God, who maintains covenant loyalty with those who love him, and keep his commandments to a thousand generations, and who directly repays with destruction the one who rejects him. He does not delay, but repays directly the one who rejects him. Therefore, observe diligently the commandment, the statutes and the ordinances that I am commanding you today. The word of the Lord.

SPEAKER_04

Bless the Lord, O my soul, and all that is within me, blessed his holy name. Bless the Lord, O my soul, and do not forget all his benefits. The steadfast love of the Lord is everlasting to those who fear. It is the Lord who forgives all your iniquity, who heals all your diseases, who redeems your life from the pit, who crowns you with steadfast love and mercy. The steadfast love of the Lord is everlasting to those to feed. The Lord works vindication and justice for all who are oppressed. He made known his ways to Moses, his acts to the people of Israel. The steadfast love of the Lord is everlasting to those who feel his a reading from the first letter of Saint John.

SPEAKER_02

Beloved, let us love one another, because love is from God. Everyone who loves is born of God and knows God. Whoever does not love God does not know God. For God is love. God's love was revealed among us in this way. God sent his only begotten Son into the world so that we might live through him. In this love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his son to be the atoning sacrifice for our sins. Beloved, since God loved us so much that we ought to all ought to love one another. No one has ever seen God. If we love one another, God lives in us, and his love is perfected in us. By this we know that we abide in him and he in us, because he has given us of his spirit, and we have seen and do testify that the Father has sent his son as the Savior of the world. Whoever confesses that Jesus is the Son of God, God abides in them, and that person in God. So we have known and believe the love that God has for us. God is love, and the one who abides in love abides in God. And God abides in them. The word of the Lord.

SPEAKER_04

Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart. Alley Lu.

SPEAKER_00

And with your spirit. A reading from the Holy Gospel according to Matthew. Glory to you, Lord. At that time Jesus said, I thank you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because you have hidden these things from the wise and the intelligent and have revealed them to infants. Yes, Father, for such was your gracious will. He continued, All things have been handed over to me by my Father, and no one knows the Son except the Father, and no one knows the Father except the Son, and any one to whom the Son chooses to reveal him. Come to me, all you who are weary and carrying heavy burdens, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble of heart in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light. The Gospel of the Lord. Plenty of material to pray for and to reflect upon in these two. But I'd like to stick to Matthew's gospel with three small phrases. I thank you, Lord, for hiding these things from the innocent. What are these hidden things? It is the wisdom and the understanding of Jesus. A wisdom and an understanding of what the kingdom of God is truly like. It contains of care for the poor. It is reflected in Matthew 25. I was hungry, I was thirsty, I was sick, I was in prison. So basically, the love of the sacred heart consists in caring for these people. This is the understanding. In contrast, for not revealing it to the people who are learned and wise according to this world. They are egocentric. They are the ones who believe in success at any cost. They have a condescension, a condescension, condescension towards the poor, the weak, the disabled. And they would like them to get rid and not be in sight. Because it is success at any cost. I thank you, Lord, for hiding these things. Whereas the understanding of Jesus Christ is one that reaches out where he sees the poor are God's favorites. This is the hidden things that have been hidden. And we are revealed, we get this all revealed to us in the sacred heart. And then the sacred heart continues. The sacred heart, which is a symbol of God's love for us. And the core of it was seen in that first reading when you are nobody, you were a nothing. But God chose you because God loves you. And therefore he hides these things from the learned and the wise and reveals it to the ordinary people. And then Jesus says, Come to me and take my yoke. Now, whenever we speak about the yoke, we usually think about a big, huge, heavy load which is put on the necks of mules or buffaloes as they are used to plough the fields or to grind the mills. A scene that is not common to us today in a land and a time when we have combines and harvesters that do thousands of acres in a couple of days and a couple of weeks. But the yoke that Jesus has is not something that is heavy. It is the cross. It is the cross of realizing that the people that are important are the people that people the world does not care for. It is the people that are ordinary hardworking people who seek for justice for all, who seek an equality for all, who seek the people that need help and reach out to them. Because Jesus says, I am meek and humble of heart. He is meek because he is gentle and not demanding. He does not have office hours nine to five five days a week and closed on weekends. You can go to Jesus at all times. And when we enter into the heart of Jesus, we find there is a certain change within us. I become less harsh and more forgiving. I become less judgmental and finding excuses for the faults and the difficulties and the shortcomings of others. I find that I'm more approachable to people, regardless of sex, gender, uh, ethnic group, language, immigrant or local. I become open to all because a metamorphosis takes place when I encounter the very heart of Jesus, which is a symbol of Jesus' love for us. When I enter into that heart, I become to begin to realize I need to be more transparent. I need to live in the light, not in the darkness. I need to live a life that is true. So Jesus invites us. He does not force us, it's an invitation. There is no punishments if we say no to him. But he's always there as a good shepherd, a loving shepherd, who says, There are many sheep that do not belong to this flock. They too I must bring into this flock so that there will be one flock and one shepherd. And this is the heart of that deluxe noise, the encyclical of Pope Francis, when he says that the unifying element of the sacred heart is so relevant today. In a land which was full of chaos, confusion, and division, it is to this sacred heart that we approach and say, bind us together, Lord. God love you all. Join me now as we make our act of faith. I believe in God, the Father Almighty, creator of heaven and earth, and in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried. He descended into hell. On the third day he rose again from the dead. He ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of God, the Father Almighty. From there he will come to judge the living and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the Holy Catholic Church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and life everlasting. Amen. Together with Pope Leo, let us pray that each one of us may find consolation in the personal relationship with Jesus and from his heart learn to have compassion on the world. We pray to the Lord. Lord Jesus, by your victory you broke the power of evil and destroyed sin and death. Make us victorious over sin today. We pray to the Lord. For the Pope's intention during this month of June that sports may be an instrument of peace, encounter, and dialogue among cultures and nations, and that they promote values of respect, solidarity, and personal growth. We pray to the Lord. Father, help us to seek the values that will bring us eternal joy in this changing world. In our desire for what you promise, make us one in mind and heart. Grant us through Christ our Lord. Look, O Lord, we pray upon the surpassing charity in the heart of your beloved Son, that what we offer may be a gift acceptable to you and an expiation of our offenses. We make this prayer through Christ our Lord. Amen. The Lord be with you and with your spirit. Lift up your hearts and lift them up to the Lord. Let us give thanks to the Lord our God. It is truly right and just our duty and our salvation, always and everywhere, to give you thanks. Lord, Holy Father, Almighty and Eternal God, through Christ our Lord. For raised up high on the cross, he gave himself up for us with a wonderful love and poured out blood and water from his pierced side, the wellspring of the church's sacraments, so that one over to the open heart of the Savior, all may draw water joyfully from the springs of salvation. And so with all the angels and saints we praise you as without end we acclaim.

SPEAKER_04

Holy, holy Lord God of hosts, heaven and earth are full of your glory. Hosanna in the highest in the highest. Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord. Hosanna in the highest.

SPEAKER_00

At the time he was betrayed and entered willingly into his passion, he took bread and giving you thanks, broke it and gave it to his disciples, saying, Take this, all of you, and eat of it, for this is my body which will be given up for you. In a similar way, when supper was ended, he took the chalice, and once more giving thanks, he gave the chalice to his disciples, saying, Take this, all of you, and drink from it, for this is the chalice of my blood. The blood of the new and eternal covenant, which will be poured out for you and for many for the forgiveness of sins. Do this in memory of me. The mystery of faith.

SPEAKER_04

When we eat this bread and drink this cup, we proclaim your death, O Lord, until you come again.

SPEAKER_00

Therefore, as we celebrate the memorial of his death and resurrection, we offer you, Lord, the bread of life and the chalice of salvation, giving thanks that you have held us worthy to be in your presence and minister to you. Humbly we pray that partaking of the body and blood of Christ, we may be gathered into one by the Holy Spirit. Remember, Lord, your church spread throughout the world and bring her to the fullness of charity, together with Leo, our Pope, Francis, our bishop, all the clergy, and this entire people of God. Remember also our brothers and sisters who have fallen asleep in the hope of the resurrection, and welcome them into the light of your face. Have mercy on us all. That with the Blessed Virgin Mary, Mother of God, with Blessed Joseph, her spouse, with Saint Francis Xavier, and all the saints, with the apostles and all the saints who have pleased you throughout the ages, we may merit to be co-heirs to eternal life and praise and glorify you through your Son, Jesus Christ. Through him with him and in him, O God Almighty Father, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, all glory and honor is yours forever and ever.

SPEAKER_03

Amen, Amen, Amen.

SPEAKER_00

At the Savior's command, informed by divine teaching, we now dare to say, Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name, thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us, and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Deliver us, Lord, from every evil, graciously grant peace in our day, that by the help of your mercy we may be always free from sin, safe from all distresses. We await the blessed hope and the coming of our Savior, Jesus Christ. The kingdom, the power, and the glory are yours now and forever. Lord Jesus Christ, you said to your apostles, peace I leave you, my peace I give you. Look not on our sins, but on the faith of your church, and graciously grant a peace and unity in accordance with your will, who live and reign forever and ever. Peace of the Lord be with you always. Let us share with one another a sign of this peace and friendship.

SPEAKER_04

You take away the sins of the world. You take away the sins of the world. You take away the sins of the world.

SPEAKER_00

Behold the Lamb of God, behold him who takes away the sins of the world. Blessed are those who are called to the supper of the Lamb. Lord, I am not worthy that you should enter under my roof, but only say the word and my soul shall be healed. May the body and blood of Christ bring us all to everlasting life. Amen.

SPEAKER_01

Since I cannot now receive you sacramentally, come spiritually into my soul, so that I may unite myself wholly to you, now and forever. Amen.

SPEAKER_00

One of the soldiers opened his side with a lance, and at once there came forth blood and water. Let us pray. May the sacrament of charity, O Lord, make us fervent with the fire of holy love, so that drawn always to your Son, we may learn to see him in our neighbor. We make this prayer through Christ our Lord. Amen. The Lord be with you.

SPEAKER_05

And with your spirit.

SPEAKER_00

May Almighty God bless you, the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Go in the peace of Christ. Hallelujah, hallelujah.

SPEAKER_05

And peace of God.

SPEAKER_04

Our thanks to our donors for the gift of this man.
