Brothers and sisters, let us call to mind our sins and so prepare ourselves to celebrate the sacred mysteries. I confess to Almighty God, and to you, my brothers and sisters, that I have greatly sinned in my thoughts and in my words, in what I have done, in what I have failed to do, through my fault, through my fault, through my most grievous fault. Therefore I ask bless the Mary ever virgin, all the angels and saints, and you, my brothers and sisters, to pray for me to the Lord our God. May Almighty God have mercy on us, forgive us our sins, and bring us to everlasting life.

SPEAKER_07

Amen.

SPEAKER_00

Lord have mercy. Lord have mercy. Christ have mercy. Lord have mercy. Lord have mercy. Let us pray. O God, strength of those who hope in you, graciously hear our pleas. And since without you, mortal frailty can do nothing. Grant us always the help of your grace, that in following your commands, we may please you by our resolve and our deeds. Through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, God forever and ever.

A reading from the book of the prophet Amos. Amaziah, the priest of Bethel, sent to King Jeroboam of Israel, saying, Amos has conspired against you in the very center of the house of Israel. The land is not able to bear all his words. For thus Amos has said, Jeroboam shall die by the sword, and Israel must go into exile away from his land. And Amaziah said to Amos, O seer, go, flee away to the land of Judah, earn your bread there, and prophesy there, but never again prophesy at Bethel, for it is the king's sanctuary, and it is a temple of the kingdom. Then Amos answered Amaziah, I am no prophet, nor a prophet's son, but I am a herdsman and a dresser of sycamore trees. And the Lord took me from following the flock, and the Lord said to me, Go, prophesy to my people Israel. Now therefore hear the word of the Lord. You say, Do not prophesy against Israel, and do not preach against the house of Isaac. Therefore, thus says the Lord, Your wife shall become a prostitute in the city, and your sons and your daughters shall fall by the sword, and your land shall be parceled out by line. You yourself shall die in an unclean land, and Israel shall surely go into exile away from its land. The word of the Lord.

SPEAKER_08

Thanks be the God.

SPEAKER_04

Reviving the soul. The decrees of the Lord are sure, making lies the same. The precepts of the Lord are right, rejoicing. The commandment of the Lord is clear, enlightening the eyes. The fear of the Lord is pure enduring forever. The ordinances of the Lord are true, and right here so together The judgments of the Lord are true, and of the my jast was in Christ to reconcile the world to himself. The good news of reconciliation he is entrusted us.

After getting into a boat, Jesus crossed the sea and came to his own town. And just then some people were carrying a paralyzed man lying on a bed. When Jesus saw their faith, he said to the paralyzed man, Take heart, son, your sins are forgiven. Then some of the scribes said to themselves, This man is blaspheming. But Jesus, perceiving their thoughts, said, Why do you think evil in your hearts? For which is easier to say, Your sins are forgiven, or to say, Stand up and walk. But so that you may know that the Son of Man has authority on earth to forgive sins. He then said to the paralyzed man, Stand up, take your bed and go to your home. And he stood up and went to his home. When the crowd saw it, they were filled with awe, and they glorified God, who had given so such authority to human beings. The Gospel of the Lord. Before the Great Depression, the United States experienced economic prosperity. That period is known as the Roaring Twenties. With the rapid industrial expansion and increased consumer spending and investment, stock price prices were at their all-time high. It was a bubble waiting to be popped. Then in the winter of 1928, Joe Kennedy, who was the father of the 35th president of the United States, John F. Kennedy, stopped to get his shoe shined. The Shoe Shine Boy leaned in and gave him a stock tip, by Hiddenberg. Joe was a major stock market player and owned a lot of stocks. So instead of buying the stock, he started to sell his position. He famously said, you know it's time to sell when Shoe Shine Boy gives you stock tips. When it comes to investing money in the stock market, I read that a significant majority, 70 to 90% of the people, lose money. But successful investors like Warren Buffett make a lot of money because they understand this one thing: human psychology. Warren Buffett has his rule is simple: buy low, sell high. He makes money doing just that. Unlike Warren Buffett, the main reason most people lose money is because they're doing the opposite. As soon as they hear that their friend or neighbor made a lot of money from this one stock, they rush to buy that stock that has already gone up due to greed or FOMO, fear of missing out. When the bubble finally pops, the stock price plunges, they panic and sell. They lose money buying high and selling low. The difference between the successful investor and significant majority is how they handle their emotions. Are you in charge or are you being ruled by your emotions? What is true of investing is also true of other areas in life. We either are in control of our emotions or we are controlled by them. How often do we get into arguments with our loved ones just because we get triggered and say very hurtful words that leaves them deep scars? I'm guilty of that. I've done that many times. When I used to get triggered, the anger felt like a nuclear bomb had just exploded inside. I often didn't express my anger and held it in. I let it implode. By suppressing my negative emotions and bearing hurtful memories over time, I ended up developing autoimmune diseases like digestive issues, psoriasis, and thyroid problems. It just kept on getting worse until I had a life-changing experience in Mejgoria in 2023. Since then, I've started to work on myself and began the journey of healing from my childhood traumas. I can say that I've gotten a lot better today and have a better handle on my emotions than I used to. Eleven years ago today, my friend and mentor, Monsignor Ken Robotai, passed away. He's been a good friend and mentor for me from early in my priesthood. I had many conversations and shared my struggles and challenges with him. He would listen and sympathize with me by offering me words of encouragement. Many times I felt better after speaking to him. But from time to time, there was a lingering feeling of disappointment after speaking to him. It came from my failed expectations. Whenever I was treated unjustly, I felt neglected, overwhelmed, and helpless. Then I secretly hoped that someone would just come and rescue me by jumping into action and fixing my problems. That's why there were times I hoped that my friend would do more than just listen. Only recently, when I began to work on myself and began healing for my childhood traumas, I stopped overreacting. When you're overreacting, every problem, every molehill looks like a mountain, and that's what prevents you from seeing the truth. In the first reading, God sent Amos to prophesy against the kingdom of Israel. But Amaziah, who was a priest of Bethel, feeling angry and resentful towards Amos, accused him of conspiring against King Jeroboam. We all know Abraham did nothing wrong. He was just doing his job, and he did it well. The temple of the Lord that King Solomon built is where the glory of God resided. Therefore, King Jeroboam, building altars in Bethel and Dan and establishing false worship of golden calves, was clearly in the wrong. The only reason he did this was to maintain control over his people by preventing them from traveling to Jerusalem, which was the capital city of his rival kingdom of Judah. God sent Amos to warn Jerobo for his idolatry. Unfortunately, Jeroboam didn't listen and led his people astray from God's commandment, leading to the destruction of the kingdom of Israel. Instead of Amaziah and King Jeroboam admitting their faults, they laid blame on Amos and refused to listen to him. Unfortunately, there is a tendency to believe the problem exists only in others. This is a cognitive distortion known as personalization. This stems from lack of self-awareness and comfort in viewing ourselves as not part of the problem. This is always doing part to our self, uh, our defense mechanism. We project problems onto others because if problems exist only in others, all we have to do is just point it out and blame others. In my opinion, I think the reason why people are afraid of working through their issues is that at some point in their lives they were wounded. And those wounds make them feel that they aren't enough or they are not good enough. And mistakenly believe that their faults make them unlovable, which makes them incapable of admitting their faults. God's love is not a response to what we do. Even when we mess up, God still loves us because He loves us unconditionally. Um, actually, an icon of the Last Supper that I saw. The disciples were standing where they're supposed to be, with a halo around their heads. Only Judas is scared is seen leaving. As he leaves, Judas leaves behind the empty halo from where he once stood. The halo that was reserved for Judas, he left behind when he walked away from it. In refusing to listen to God, Amaziah and Jeroboam also walked away from their halo. Whether you end up with the halo that God intended for you is entirely up to you. It all depends on whether you choose to remain with God or walk away from him. For all those in our daily TV Mass Prayer Intentions book, we pray to the Lord. As a community prayer, let us give thanks for grandparents and elders like Saints Joachim and Anne, who nurture faith and family across generations with quiet strength. We pray to the Lord. We ask our Blessed Mother to intercede for our needs. Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee. Blessed art thou amongst women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death. Amen. Heavenly Father, we have presented to you all our needs. We ask you to grant them through Christ our Lord. Fruit of the earth and work of human hands, you'll become for us the bread of life. Blessed are you, Lord, God of all creation, for through your goodness, we receive the wine we offer you, fruit of the vine and work of human hands. You'll become our spiritual drink. O God, who in the offerings presented here, provide for the twofold needs of human nature, nourishing us with food, and renewing us with your sacrament. Grant, we pray that the sustenance they provide may not fail us in body or in spirit through Christ our Lord.

Amen.

SPEAKER_00

The Lord be with you. Your spirit. Lift up your hearts. Lift them up to the Lord. Let us give thanks to the Lord our God. It is truly right and just, our duty and our salvation, always and everywhere to give you thanks. Lord, Holy Father, Almighty and Eternal God, for just as through your beloved Son, you created the human race, so also through him, with great goodness you formed it on you. And so it is right that all your creatures serve you, all the redeemed praise you, and all your saints with one heart bless you. Therefore we too extol you with all the angels, as in joyful celebration we acclaim.

SPEAKER_04

Holy God of heart Heaven and earth I full of your glory O sanest O Sitian of the Lord O S You are indeed holy, O Lord, and all you have created rightly gives you praise, for through your Son, our Lord Jesus Christ, by the power and working of the Holy Spirit, you give life to all things and make them holy.

SPEAKER_00

And you never cease to gather a people to yourself, so that from the rising of the sun to its setting, a pure sacrifice may be offered to your name. Therefore, O Lord, we humbly implore you. By the same Spirit, graciously make holy these gifts we have brought to you for consecration, that they may become the body and blood of your Son, our Lord Jesus Christ, at his command we celebrate these mysteries. For on the night he was betrayed, he himself took bread, and giving you thanks, he said the blessing, broke the bread, and gave it to his disciples, saying, Take this, all of you, and eat of it. For this is my body, which will be given up for you. In a similar way, when supper was ended, he took the chalice, and giving you thanks, he said the blessing, and gave the chalice to his disciples, saying, Take this, all of you, and drink from it. For this is the chalice of my blood, the blood of the new and eternal covenant, which will be poured out for you and for many for the forgiveness of sins. Do this in memory of me to rehalt.

SPEAKER_04

When we eat this bright and drink this cup, we proclaim your death, O Lord, until you come again.

SPEAKER_00

Therefore, O Lord, as we celebrate the memorial of the saving passion of your Son, His wondrous resurrection and ascension into heaven, and as we look forward to his second coming, we offer you in thanksgiving this holy and living sacrifice. Look, we pray upon the oblation of your church, and recognizing the sacrificial victim, by whose death you will to reconcile us to yourself. Grant that we who are nourished by the body and blood of your Son and filled with His Holy Spirit may become one body, one spirit in Christ. May He make of us an eternal offering to you, so that we may obtain an inheritance with your elect, especially with the most blessed Virgin Mary, Mother of God, with Blessed Joseph Herspouse, with the Blessed Apostles and Glorious Martyrs, with St. Andrew Basset, and with all the saints on his constant intercession in your presence, we rely for unfailing help. May this sacrifice of our reconciliation we pray, O Lord, advance the peace and salvation of all the world. Be pleased to confirm in faith and charity your pilgrim church honored, with your servant Leo, our Pope, and Francis, our bishop, the Order of Bishops, all the clergy, and the entire people you have gained for your own. Listen graciously to the prayers of this family, whom you have summoned before you. In your compassion and merciful Father, gather to yourself all your children scattered throughout the world. To our departed brothers and sisters, and to all who are pleasing to you at the passing from this life, give kind admittance to your kingdom. There we hope to enjoy forever the fullness of your glory through Christ our Lord, through whom you bestow on the world all that is good.

SPEAKER_02

Through him and with him and in him, O God Almighty Father, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, all glory and honor is yours for ever. Amen.

SPEAKER_00

Thy kingdom come, thy will be done, honored as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us, and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Deliver us, Lord, we pray from every evil. Graciously grant peace in our days, that by the help of your mercy, we may be always free from sin and safe from all distress, as we await the blessed hope and the coming of our Saviour, Jesus Christ. For the kingdom of the heart. Lord Jesus Christ, who said to apostles, peace I leave you, my peace I give you. Look not on our sins, but on the faith of your church, and graciously grant her peace and unity in accordance with your will, who live and reign forever and ever. Amen. The peace of the Lord be with you always. And with you. Blessed are those called to the supper of the Lamb.

SPEAKER_03

My Jesus, I believe that you are present in this holy sacrament of the altar. I love you above all things, and I passionately desire to receive you into my soul. Since I cannot now receive you sacramentally, come spiritually into my soul, so that I may unite myself wholly to you, now and forever. Amen.

SPEAKER_00

Let us pray. As this reception of your holy communion, O Lord, foreshadows the union of the faithful in you, so it may bring about unity in your church through Christ our Lord.

unknown

Amen.

SPEAKER_00

The Lord be with you. And with your spirit. Go in the peace of Christ.

SPEAKER_03
