John Piper says; there is no cost you can pay in following Jesus that won’t be made up a thousand-fold in the Resurrection!
If God has worked in this way to preserve the truth of the gospel for people who need it, is this not still an incomparable challenge to give your life to the spreading of the gospel?
For you see your calling, brethren, that not many wise according to the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble, are called. But God has chosen the foolish things of the world to put to shame the wise, and God has chosen the weak things of the world to put to shame the things which are mighty; and the base things of the world and the things which are despised God has chosen.
3000 souls were caught when Peter opened his mouth to fish at Pentecost. A sinful, violent, foul mouthed man was willing to humbly follow instruction and let Jesus use his boat. Our Lord asks the same question of us today. Your boat, your ambition, your hope, your dreams. Can I use your boat?
