The first Easter Sunday was one of the most grueling long days recorded in scripture. The emotional roller coaster the young church was put through must have been exhausting as debates and disagreements’ inflamed and threatened their very existence. But, our Lord would not have the gates of hell prevail: He comes to them tenderly in their great sorrow and commissions them to proclaim the good news of the glorious resurrection! It was a day like no other ever has been or will be again!
