DO YOU UNDERSTAND HOW IMPORTANT THIS IS?

We cannot doubt that the time of our Lord's crucifixion was appointed by God.               His perfect wisdom and controlling power arranged that the Lamb of God should die, at the very time when the Passover-lamb was being slain.  

The death of Christ was the fulfillment of the Passover. Jesus was the true sacrifice to which every Passover-lamb had been pointing for 1500 years! What the death of the lamb had been to Israel in Egypt — Jesus' death was to be to sinners all over the

What Jesus did that Thursday was the Passover changed, adjusted to a new covenant. It was the fulfilling of the foretold in the picture of the Passover. Those who have trusted in the shed blood of Jesus are wearing it, so to speak, on the doorway of their lives. What is even more incredible is Jesus the very next day fulfilled the Day of Atonement, Yom Kippur. The two holiest days in the Israeli calendar came together in one 24 hour period. We remember and honour both in what we call the Lord’s Supper, Holy Communion or the Sacrament. What we do, we do as directly ordered by Jesus Himself, to do it until he comes. We dare not relegate such a priority to the periphery of our worship! It is a command with warning; ‘don’t take this lightly ‘or ‘in an unworthy manner’. I wonder how many of us understand just how important the Lord’s Supper is. It is most sacred!
