PASTOR TIM JUPP

THE SEED IN THEM

Tim Jupp

The church hadn’t begun its missionary work. They could have sent Phillip and Stephen a few weeks earlier and maybe everything had been different, but God had told them they would take the gospel to Samaria and so they would! This baby church, still learning, not a year old: indeed, was a fragile group of transformed Jesus followers who’s fellowship was suddenly destroyed but they could not keep silent.

The seed of truth was buried in them and where they went the gospel went.            Jesus had said Samaria was ready for a great harvest and here we see it was the seed in them that would be harvested and great joy came to Samaria.

Wherever the established believer is driven, he carries the knowledge of the gospel, and makes known the preciousness of Christ in every place. (MHCC)

Persecution is good for the church.  It turns the church loose.  It disconnects the church from its comfort and sends it out in dependency. JOHN MACARTHUR
