PASTOR TIM JUPP

STAND TALL

Tim Jupp

Paul obviously believed there was a time to Stand Tall and stand firm; a time to be strong and time to muster all authority. Here, at Philippi, Paul’s confidence in the leading of God was obvious. God had fashioned an unmistakable path to the equally unmistakable call. No matter how evil the adversary, how hopeless the circumstance or how dangerous the potential reprisal, it was time to be bold and courageous, a time to speak and be heard.  Given the opportunity and circumstance, Paul and his team exercised a kind of daring wisdom and strategy, and in the face of evil chose to ‘Stand Tall’. So, we too, when we know, we are where we are supposed to be, should declare who sent us to this present darkness and in the name of Jesus, speak and  ‘Stand Tall!’

"What greater spectacle has the earth witnessed than that of scourged and incarcerated men, suffering from unjust and cruel inflictions, and anticipating greater sorrows; yet, with a calm mind, a pure conscience, a holy joy, pouring forth their desires and praises at midnight, into the ear of the God."   C.H. Spurgeon
