Episode 28 - Lauren Tischendorf - Swimming with Sharks

Lynne Schinella Season 1 Episode 28

Today’s guest is a real find.  Lauren Tischendorf recently became the first woman to swim solo around Lord Howe Island in a single 35 km stretch. And if you think that doesn’t sound too hard, think sharks, a treacherous 2.5 metre swell and a lazy 14 hours in the water.

We talked about fear, the mental and physical strength you need for this sort of endurance sport, her love for championing women and the people who inspire her as she continues to inspire us.

Lauren is an educator, a teacher of kindergarten children, children with disabilities, and a champion for women and girls in several areas including as NSW director for Code like a Girl.

Enjoy my chat with the charming and unstoppable Lauren Tischendorf. She's the real deal.
