Triathletes and endurance athletes are usually motivated by having a goal, such as a race or event to work towards as it gives them something to focus on, a structure and plan to follow. So what happens when that goal/race is taken away from you like at the moment. 

Paul Jones (Professional Triathlon Coach) and Kate Charlton (Chartered Physiotherapist, Strength & Conditioning Coach and Triathlon Coach) bring you the next episode of the PK Triathlon Podcast.

REVIEW and RESET YOUR GOALS.

  • What goals can you keep workings towards
  • What can you change slightly for them to fit within the constraints you find yourself in

For example: if you find yourself suffering with a sore knee and you can’t run but it is ok cycling, there is nothing to stop you cycling, swimming and doing strength and conditioning work until you can run again.

At the moment many of us cannot swim; some of us cannot cycle or run outside but you can re focus on S&C, turbo and if you have a treadmill get on that.

Or what about entering races for 2021 season, after all there is nothing better than spending money on race entries, well except buying kit!
