Spring prep tonight or not First step and it lasts about What we did have was the -24 degree temperature and -46 degree wind chill factor yes you did not hit me wrong it's -46 degrees Fahrenheit wind chill factor we are talking very cold for about a week and that was interesting because we definitely was interesting so when you're talking about winter what kind of things are you trying to survive in the winter power outages could be lack of water from all of these things traffic sorry I'm struggling with you're talking about I mean like water is definitely the most important and there's probably some similarities between what you need for the winter and we are also going to need for spraying in Spring you're thinking more about thunderstorms electrical storms tornadoes floods what else happens in Spring no that's not right if you have livestock or bees or your kids anything like that rain-slick weather all that matters storms for sure because we can go with Tornado Alley probably pretty much any season you're going to want to think about your house your vehicle your bug out bag and you know what do you need on your person they lie so that's kind of what I was going to go into here and you can help me fill this in 15 members on the Facebook group since the last time you want me to run to that was named some of these are not real names but if it's so Hey Joe Mike holder Jr Daniels Anthony guy John Casey Michael and Kirk and some days I think I may have mentioned last time I can't keep up with the when I don't do it frequently I forget who I already mentioned so thank you yeah what we talked about last week about the Harvest Right freeze dryer I think a couple other members may also have one very interesting on how to use that and what you can use it for the most interesting thing I saw was the peeps that Easter peeps marshmallow but not yet get your house ready for pairing your house to survive some of these things that were talking about how much do you need to get ready I'm thinking 2 weeks do you need to be prepared for like two weeks of survival or what what do you think two weeks of survival or two weeks to get ready for the winter or whatever and I'm going to have to survive and what I have in this house I need at least two weeks is what I'm thinking happy with 3 weeks to a month but let's be honest
Eat whatever I want. Okay you didn't need that form since birth in the face okay so you're also going to need fire which means lighters matches back up fire starters God forbid you have to use one of those and you're home I'm going to need light and you don't want to use those if you don't have to keep those in your bag use Bic lighters go down are fun when you don't have to use them but when you get to where you have to use that thing it's not fun anymore what will you will wear them down eventually start talking about lighting to lighters first Favorite Things is the headband those are really handy if you are in the dark at home get your hands-free right now I don't think they are but we have the new store since you brought it up and it has got their hold 2023 catalog out so we go do some pricing and stuff like that so yeah yeah degrees in an also red or green as well which I would like to know as a backup if you want to see it night close up but don't want to be seen by others let's say in your house that you don't want to know you're in there walking running around the house with flashlights flashlights or headlamp battery operated because if you're smart you're going to have a solar generator have some kind of generator to repower your cell phone whatever it is you need to to power up in which case you can recharge rechargeable batteries and also the little hand crank apparently it does work for cell phones you want to make sure you have extra blankets of course what does USB powered fan on a list you can plug them into your backup battery whatever it is and you can have them if you sleep with no don't forget you can also use those emergency blankets that are trying to of what are those made out of and then the other will hold all of your body heat and keep it warm it takes the the radiant heat that comes off of your body member our bodies are almost 100 degrees 98.6 The temperature Are you need to find it to find it for you and aunty acid so you want to make sure you have spare batteries for all of those lights when he mentioned a minute ago the solar charger you already said that one of the handprint Chargers if you don't have those things that something you should work towards getting crank style that has a USB battery charger make sure all this stuff is where you can find it if you need it you know if your roof blows off what are the rooms of your house gets taken off my tornado or something you need to be able to find some of these things easily automatic duct style duct tape but brand self defense Andy Welch a spray you know your Firearms you may have hand weapons like the worst case scenarios that you would have to use the stuff that you want to make sure you mention that same thing goes for some extra cash and your important documents if you know if a natural disaster does happen that's something you don't want to be scrambling to try to find you need to have that stuff in a safe place if you have to evacuate or whatever you want to be able to have your important stuff like that with you good point your home preparations the same for your pets to about for humans think about the dog the dog version of whatever it is water foodstuff blankets whatever it is and I'm kind of mentioned evacuation just now but let's say you do have to leave your home in a hurry that's where the bug out bag comes in almost everybody's probably heard of the bug out bag but just in case you haven't it may also be called a go bag you have normally have about three days worth of supplies in a bag and you should have a bag for each person has long shirts I don't care if it's if it's a hot spring or not waterproof jackets that you will get cold so make sure you get anything that can protect you from the water that means galoshes or waterproof something that's comfortable if you have to trick and you get wet it's it's a very dangerous if you can't get inside definitely You have a bag already packed and get on the road and leave a bug out bag out bugging out as a military term when a position that's being held as big as getting moved quickly to another position that's bugging out so you don't want to wake up in the middle the night and there's a wildfire approaching your home you got to leave fast a heart hurricane or tornado that's coming normally when there's a tornado you're probably not going to get on your car and take off but there may be instances where you have enough warning then she'll do that earthquake civil unrest would have some kind of in your neighborhood I'm not going to stick around so I don't have to home Intruder you know that that was on the list when I was doing my research but I guess that's kind of a matter of preference for yourself I don't think I would leave my home over an intruder I think I would take care of business if your mother was small children and you don't feel comfortable with protecting your home or maybe you don't have the means to by all means leave out the back door to take your kids with you maybe not out there when disaster strikes they go into action go into into what can I get move you stay behind with an area's evacuated and they go house to house still looking for all the valuables and he didn't you can do and that's fine if you're out and you're up and you're gone and you own a house with have insurance in there all right so what should you have in your go bag a lot of the same things that we mentioned about the house as far as some food and some water light something to make fire headlamp you're also going to want some hand tools like a knife and things like that always start with 3 hours without shelter 3 days without water 3 weeks without food without masks of ventilation that sort of thing to protect you from the see the smoke in the air that you took to keep you from the elements with rainwater cold whatever that is did you send me the other things you can put in there that may come in handy for you would be like a contractor trash bags or to some storage bags like six blocks you know it's a great idea store in different size quality Ziploc bags so that your bag that hold your water filter now becomes another prep for you got in there but if you really need one that is or that you can organize things the way you need it so that you can buy A lot more tools are different tools that would be used outdoors and it's always good to have a notepad and a pen maybe some self-defense items glass breaker I mentioned earlier there's some of those that also double as Weapons small battery backup to recharge your cell phone in case you get caught out in it fully and I carry it around with me for a while and don't use it right to 1 weeks at least after charging it and still 100% so okay so that was the the four different types of preparation your home your bug out bag your get home bag and then your everyday carry bag yeah so prepare for these things outside of having your preparation there are also going to want to talk to your family members let them know if a Tory know if you live in Tornado Alley you should have already done this what's going to happen if we get a tornado siren they need to know that ahead of time because kids get scared easy especially when they hear that fire and it's pretty scary do you know what you're supposed to do you train for you thought about it does everybody else has everybody else and are you going to be able to think of all those things when it happens now you don't want to be explaining to a scared child what they're doing in the in the bathtub or in the head don't know what's going to happen to them if something like a natural disaster happens so talk to them ahead of time and let them know that you're going to try to take care of them make sure you take about your pets the neighbors if you have neighbors that you're close to you might want to think about them also George all I have for the first quarter and make sure you're prepared for them when they come you don't get your money back if you're not so good time to do that good time to start planning a little seedlings and get ready for the spring you know warm spring weather and all that we can all that more than they usually do because it's the holiday season is over you got a nice little Nice and get it sometime to save money start thinking about what you're going to do for the next three months if you're going to be doing right now so with that is why I like to be in the studio okay so hold on I just wanted to mention that our next episode after this one is going to have some specific shoutouts to specific listeners
