Agegroup Multisport Podcast (Triathlon,Duathlon,Aquabike,Aquathlon)
Triathlon as a sport has a unique part to it, where it allows everyday people to compete in a range of sports, Triathlon, swim bike and run, Duathlon, run, bike, run, Aquathlon, swim, run and Aquabike, swim and bike, for their country against others in their agegroup.
The Agegroup Multisport Podcast is a platform where Agegroup Multisport Athletes from around the world, share their Journey from Multisport beginner to Agegroup Athlete.
In telling their stories the athletes are providing valuable information and insights about their experiences, we can all learn from these, which will in turn help our own multisport adventure.
Listen to their training regimes, favourite kit, how they decide which races to aim for. Its free information from athletes who know, how to research, prepare, train, race and perform to reach their goals.
Ive learnt a lot from having these Agegroupers on the podcast, its helping me and it can help you too.
I don't do this for monetary gains, there are no commercial or financial sponsorships of any kind its just a way of giving back to my multisport community.
You can listen to us on all the major podcast platforms, and on our youtube channel and catch us on Instagram, Facebook and Twitter.

welcome to the latest episode on this episode we speak to Mark Walford
Mark says "I joined a triathlon club in late 2019 (aged 35) having taken up open water swimming after spending most of my youth playing football but after having kids less and less exercise and an increasing waistline, I did some running but my knees was aching so trained up to do iron distance swim then 10km swim, and joined tuff fitty.
Then covid happened no swimming but the club was good at encouraging safe exercise, i had an old bike i never rode, got it serviced and that was the start of my cycling. I set myself a target of qualifying for aquathon as my cycling wasn't much.
I had entered Eastbourne sprint which became a qualifier much to my surprise I and qualified for Montreal in 2022. Next few years training more and more i qualified and raced
Montreal world sprint tri 2022
Bilboa European aquathon 2022
Madrid European sprint tri (change to duathlon)
Hamburg world sprint tri 2023
Menin European aquathon 2024
Torremolinos world sprint tri 2024
My results have been top 10-30 out of 40-100 participants, nothing to set the world alight.
However im potentially best know because last year i completed 24 SuperSprint triathlons in 24 hour (starting on the hour ever hour) raising over £4000 of Alzheimer's research uk. This hadn't been done before, subsequently someone from Finland attempted a work record of how many they could do in 24 hours making and completed 18. During this process i got a local school involved and they did a multisport festival for the kids to get into it."
