Agegroup Multisport Podcast (Triathlon,Duathlon,Aquabike,Aquathlon)
Triathlon as a sport has a unique part to it, where it allows everyday people to compete in a range of sports, Triathlon, swim bike and run, Duathlon, run, bike, run, Aquathlon, swim, run and Aquabike, swim and bike, for their country against others in their agegroup.
The Agegroup Multisport Podcast is a platform where Agegroup Multisport Athletes from around the world, share their Journey from Multisport beginner to Agegroup Athlete.
In telling their stories the athletes are providing valuable information and insights about their experiences, we can all learn from these, which will in turn help our own multisport adventure.
Listen to their training regimes, favourite kit, how they decide which races to aim for. Its free information from athletes who know, how to research, prepare, train, race and perform to reach their goals.
Ive learnt a lot from having these Agegroupers on the podcast, its helping me and it can help you too.
I don't do this for monetary gains, there are no commercial or financial sponsorships of any kind its just a way of giving back to my multisport community.
You can listen to us on all the major podcast platforms, and on our youtube channel and catch us on Instagram, Facebook and Twitter.

Welcome back to the podcast, on this episode we chat to Alice Lucas,
Alice says
"My sporting background has been a little stop start. As one of two girls, my mum encouraged (pushed!) us both into ballet and dancing, which I loved socially but was a disaster at. Meanwhile, Dad was a sub 3hr marathon runner and competitive triathlete, who I idolised! I started running at 18 - primarily to lose weight - and did my first triathlon in my early 20s on my early teenage mountain bike, but came 3rd in my AG and loved it.
Fast forward a decade or so, and I joined a running (with a hint of triathlon) club in London and had a couple of years of very amateur racing, with a strong running focus. 2020 was to be my year - unexpected ballot place in the London Marathon after 15 years of trying, several triathlons in the calendar, a 300km ride in Sweden and my first 70.3. Alas - 2020 was no one’s year!
Sort of fell off the wagon, but moving to Bath in 2022 reignited my excitement for the sport and I joined the world’s best tri club (while I acknowledge I’m biased, I wholeheartedly believe this to be true!). Working with an equally epic PT, I set the goal of AG racing. I told anyone who would listen, and worked to overcome fear on the bike (work in progress), improve technique in the water (ditto) and speed up my run (there’s a theme here).
Eventually raced my first MD last June and landed a qualifying time which took me to Alsdorf for the European MD Duathlon Champs last month, which was a sensational experience!
I’m nothing if not ambitious - still have a LOT of work to do across all disciplines, a lot of kit to upgrade and many years of this sport ahead of me. But objective one unlocked, proof that mindset and psychology are huge factors in any competitive sport (and business for that matter), and game on to see how far I can take this! "
