Show Notes

The last campaign personally led by Oliver Cromwell.

The Saints against the Elect.  It’s a crazy war, purges, persuasion and propaganda.  Can the English really conquer Scotland?

Maybe if Oliver Cromwell is involved.

With Camie we discuss Oliver’s death and final religious crisis, where much like Christ himself and Mother Theresa he is unable to feel God’s presence.

Finally we end with Charles II as the Merry Monarch, with a final story I’m actually doubtful of including.  There will be a warning and you can skip the last two minutes if you want to avoid a totally scandalous, horrible and gross example of behavior among Charles’ courtiers.

There are two errors this episode.  I refer to Cromwell's navy as the Royal Navy and of course Charles II dies in 1685, not 1681, but that's what comes from having the unscripted Conversations with Camie at the end.
