Rain today, sunshine tomorrow: How the weather is shifting across America
Hi, this is meteorologist Neal Pelletier and I am the weatherman. Thanks for checking into theweathermanpodcom on your Friday. It's the ninth day of the month of May 2025, quickly approaching one-third through the month, a month that usually shows us some beautiful weather, but across the northeast, today looks like overcast and wet weather as an area of low pressure and approaching frontal system. We'll do a slow move right through the mid-Atlantic from Richmond up to DC, all the way up to Philly, new York and the Boston area, under clouds and a good possibility of rain and some thunderstorms during the daytime. Today, elsewhere, high pressure is now building down across the Southern Great Lakes, so great weather for Chicago, but another series of low pressures gathering strength across the central Gulf of Mexico and causing rain in coastal Louisiana and the western panhandle of Florida and even portions of Texas as well. High pressures building across the Midwest and it looks like our weather situation for the West Coast looking dry and it looks like pretty good weather for most of today. Our forecast for the northeast corner, including Philadelphia, atlantic City, new York and up in the Boston area, looking at clouds and rain for today There'll be some occasional showers and maybe some thunderstorms, and temperatures will only range into the low to middle 60s For tonight showers and thunderstorms will end and then overnight some clearing that big area high pressure across the southern Great Lakes that moves into the northeast. Nice weather for Saturday and Sunday, both days featuring sunshine. Highs 70 to 75 both Saturday and Sunday, in the mid-70s Early.
Speaker 0:Next week looks like dry weather up at least through Tuesday. If you're flying today it looks like overcast and IFR weather causing delays across the northeast. That means Philadelphia, new York, laguardia and especially Newark. Up in the Boston area also looking at occasional rain that'll cause some delays there as well. Atlanta some scattered showers, but nothing major. A little bit of light rain in the Charlotte area. The central and south Florida also scattered showers and thunderstorms. During the afternoon IFR and some maybe one hour delays in and around New Orleans and in the Houston area. Probably no major weather weather delays there, but there will be some lower weather and also in Dallas-Fort Worth some afternoon showers are possible. Dry conditions in Chicago and Minneapolis. Dry conditions across the West Coast with no problems flying into the western United States during the day. Today. I'm your Roger, steve Pelletier, and I am the weatherman. Hope you have a great day today. Talk to you first thing on Saturday. Take care.
