Hi, this is meteorologist Steve Pelletier and I'm the weatherman. Thanks for checking into theweathermanpodcom on your Monday. It is now the 12th day of the month of May, almost getting to that halfway mark, so some beautiful weather. Over this past weekend, especially in the mid-Atlantic and northeast Over the southern states, there was quite a bit of rainfall. It looks like that rain is now spreading from the central Mississippi River Valley up through the Virginias, then into the Carolinas, and also there's some heavier showers and thunderstorms in central and east Florida, but in the New York area, philadelphia as well, there'll be some high cloud cover, but temperatures will still manage to get well into the 70s to near 80 degrees in some spots A little bit further north it'll be holding between 70 and 75, and generally fair skies across much of New York State and New England on Monday. By Monday night, though, it's going to be increasing clouds. That storm will be arriving from the southwest will give us some showers, and showers are likely on Tuesday as well, because of the cloud cover, maybe some thunderstorms. It looks like we're going to have cooler temperatures, generally in the 60s, the lower 70s on Tuesday, Cooler temperatures generally in the 60s, the lower 70s on Tuesday, and even this system staying around the area for a while. That means more showers, likely for Tuesday night and Wednesday as well. Maybe some improving weather towards the end of the week, but this does look like a long drawn-out type of system for our area in this midweek in May.

In the meantime, though, if you are flying for today down into the Atlanta area, of course because of the low pressure system there it's going to be IFR and rain. There will be at least one or two hour delays in and out of that place because of the weather. Also bad weather in Charlotte. Central and southern eastern shores of the Florida Peninsula Also about the same. That means from Jacksonville all the way down to Daytona, to Fort Lauderdale and Miami and even out to the Keys. There will be some scattered showers. Even in the Fort Myers area, showers and some thunderstorms are a good possibility for the daytime. Today Also some rainy weather at Louisiana and Panhandle of Florida.

Speaker 1:

However you get to, texas looks like the weather dries out nicely. Houston and Dallas will be fair. Oklahoma City also looking pretty good. Chicago, just some high cloud cover with a storm to the south. They'll probably get into some showers tonight. Great weather in Minneapolis, st Paul, but look at the West Coast. It is going to be dry in San Diego and LA. However, rain is moving in to the Frisco area and also in Portland, and Seattle Will be rainy, especially in the afternoon and evening hours on this Monday. Once again for today, some high cloud cover across the mid-Atlantic states with temperatures ranging into the upper 70s to near 80. Rain in the Carolinas and south, all moving towards the New York City area on Tuesday. I'll be back tomorrow with the details. Hope you had a great day today. Talk to you first thing tomorrow. Take care.
