Hi, this is meteorologist Steve Pelletieri and I am the weatherman. Thanks for checking into theweathermanpodcom On your Tuesday, 19th day of the month of August 2025, almost a third of the way, almost two-thirds of the way through the month of August, so quickly, my goodness. Tropical storm and surge warnings and watches are up along the North Carolina and Outer Banks coast and Mississippi Valley. On the hot side, we're going to enjoy some very nice weather in the northeast. In the meantime, it looks like, because of Hurricane Erin along the eastern seaboard, we're looking at tropical storm conditions along the coast, but it goes that hurricane is further offshore and coastal flooding are a possibility. North Carolina, outer Banks, beginning later today, later on Wednesday, I should say, and tropical storm and storm surges watches are in effect for that period of time. Major Hurricane Erin is expected to bring life-threatening surf and rip currents along the East Coast beaches this week. That's from the Carolina beaches today, virginia Beach and Delmarva tomorrow, and probably around the Jersey Shore, long Island and coastal Massachusetts, the islands and Cape Cod. That will be later on Thursday and Friday.

In the meantime, the weather situation across the northeast corner, with high pressure building across the region, means mostly sunny skies or highs. Today will range up to about 76. Tonight mostly cloudy down to 61. Tomorrow, looking partly sunny or highs will range between 75 and 80. Very nice conditions. You know, august so far has been a little bit below normal temperature-wise and after just a recent spat of some warm weather last weekend, we're into some great weather for today and it looks like near-seasonable conditions for the remainder of this month. Of course it's only about 11 days. So we're looking at some nice weather for Wednesday 77 for Ohio with a slight chance of a shower. Thursday mostly sunny, 81. Friday, sunshine, 83. And this weekend a look well for the northeast mid-Atlantic. To the northeast we're looking at sunshine a high of about 85 on Saturday, possibly some thunderstorms, but a high only in the lower 80s on Sunday of this weekend.

If you're traveling today, it looks like the weather situation is not too bad down in central and south Florida. Might be some stray thunderstorms offshore, but no major weather delays expected for there. However, we do see Major Hurricane Erin located about a good 800 miles due east of, say, west Palm Beach and that's off into the Atlantic. But it's starting to turn towards the north and then will be parallel to the eastern seaboard Big area high pressure giving nice weather to the northeast is blocking it from moving over shore and a series of low pressure systems that are just also off the coast of North Carolina and Virginia that's keeping that system further offshore.

It looks like dry weather in Atlanta. Also dry in Charlotte. Might be generally fair conditions for much of the northeast. There will be some rain in Baltimore, dc and Philadelphia, but only in the form of some scattered light showers. Looks dry up in Boston, dry in Chicago and Minneapolis, st Paul looking also pretty good, maybe some light showers in Houston, but Dallas, fort Worth, just hot and humid. Looks like dry conditions for San Diego, LA, san Francisco. What else is new? Looks like fair weather for Portland and Seattle as well. As a little frontal system moves through there, no major problems are expected. I'm your moderator, steve Pelletier, and I am the
