Hi, this is meteorologist Steve Pelletieri and I am the weatherman. Thanks for checking into theweathermanpodcom. On your Thursday it's the 11th day of September 9-1-1, the anniversary of the horrific event in 2001,. 24 years ago they took down the Twin Towers and we had the attack on the Pentagon and, of course, the brave folks out of Newark who saved countless amounts of lives by giving your own lives the last full measure in Hanksville and Shankville, pennsylvania.

We're looking at our weather situation for today. It's pretty similar. I remember that day was nice and clear and it was light winds, beautiful blue sky and a little chill to the air in the morning. Today's going to be a little bit warmer than that. It's going to be sunny skies, highs in the 70s to near 80 degrees, with light winds becoming north at 5 miles per hour. There is a storm offshore and that's going to cause some coastal flooding along the eastern seaboard from coastal Massachusetts all the way down to Delmarva and coastal Virginia and eventually, as that storm gets away, high pressure reestablishes a foothold into the region. Plenty of sunshine and nice weather for Friday, saturday and Sunday Each day, with our highs up for 70s to near 80. Each night, with temperatures down into the 50s and in the northeast. Next possibility for some rain, probably arriving either Sunday night, monday or Tuesday of next week, and this as a little area of upper-level low-pressure system moves right across the region. For the most part it's going to be dry up until then, although there is an isolated shower threat for later Saturday and also a few light sprinkles and a possibility in a few spots across the Northeast and southern New England on a Friday evening. We'll be traveling by airliner.

Today it looks like some great weather across the Northeast. New York, laguardia, jfk, newark, all looking pretty good, no problems weather-wise. For delays I can't count about anything else that might happen. Boston, however, we're looking at also good conditions weather-wise, with a little frontal system to their north. Chicago and Minneapolis, st Paul, all looking dry. Central and South Florida has been under those thunderstorms during the afternoon hours. Still going to be a possibility for them today. Best time to fly into Central and South Florida is during the morning hours over the next several days because we don't see that changing for the most part. Could be some showers in Houston too, but Dallas-Fort Worth just sunny and hot Dry weather. In LA and San Diego Showers in San Francisco. Also showers in Portland, but Seattle looks like a little bit of improving weather there, as most of the rain is across Idaho and central and western Montana and sections of Utah as well. I'm meteorologist, steve Pelletier, and I'm the weatherman. Hope you have a great day today. Talk to you first thing on Friday. See you then.
