Storm Watch: East Coast Weekend Forecast
This has been your brother, Steve Pelletier, and I am the Weatherman. Thanks for checking into weathermanpod.com on your Saturday. It is the 11th day of the month of October, 2025. And that coastal storm expected to develop along the eastern seaboard, starting to send some cloud cover and some moisture up through the Mid-Atlantic and the Northeast. Latest weather guidance, the uh European model, does not really bring in too strong. Uh, it has really been having a tough time handling the situation. Uh, our American model, the GFS, has been bringing that storm in with the heaviest amounts of rainfall, most likely later on Sunday and Sunday night. Uh, so because of that, flood watches are in fact up along the eastern seaboard, uh, commencing later on Saturday and some places further south to Sunday and Monday into the expected development of the storm. And we're going to be updating you at around noontime on Saturday for this situation. But either way, on Saturday it'll be cloudy with the possibility of some occasional rain and showers, more to the south, less to the north, just cloud cover north. And temperatures for the day generally ranging near 70. Rain is likely on Saturday night, nighttime lows back into the middle to upper 50s. More rainy weather expected for D.C., all the way up to Baltimore and Philadelphia and New York City, and even into the Boston area eventually. But uh basically up until New York City and Southern Connecticut. That'll be on Sunday and Sunday night. Sunday's high temperatures ranging up to about 65. Monday, also the possibility of some rain 62. As mentioned, we'll update you on this weather situation as we head into the afternoon hours on Saturday. So check back a little bit later on today. In the meantime, if you are traveling today, of course, uh tough conditions because of the budget problems in Washington, and uh that of course is affecting our air traffic control system situation. Uh the meteorologists who are handling uh the bad weather in flight routes, they're still down here in DC working 24 hours a day as well, trying to keep everything as safe as possible. But again, uh just pawns in this um budgetary process that's happening down here. So unfortunately, they're doing the work and uh they also are very dedicated folks. So thanks to them. Uh looking at uh generally decent weather, although there'll be delays in the New York area because of the work problems. Also around the Boston area, similar situation, dry conditions there. Uh some showers are expected uh generally across the Carolinas, actually from Del Marva south to the Carolinas during the afternoon and evening hours on Saturday. So I was gonna slow things down. Charlotte doesn't look too bad. Atlanta not too bad there as well. Uh Central and South Florida, a little frontal system stationary right over southern Florida, gonna be a pathway for more showers and thunderstorms there. Dry in Dallas and Houston, dry in Chicago. Looks like some rain for Minneapolis, uh dry conditions for LA and San Francisco, but that rain continues in the Pacific Northwest, causing some delays into that area. Once again, check back with us a little bit later on today. We are going to update the positioning or expected positioning and how the models are doing uh for forecasting that Sunday night or Saturday night through Monday weather event. Until then, I'm Steve Pelletier. Have a great day. Talk to you later.
