Mid-October Outlook: Calm Days, Cool Nights, and Smooth Travel Across the U.S.
Hi, this is Midi Roger, Steve Pelletier. I am the Weatherman. Thanks for checking into theWeathermanPod.com on your Wednesday, 15th of October already, 2025. Frontal system poking its way through just about southern Ohio, northern West Virginia, southern Pennsee, Maryland, D.C., and uh northern Virginia. Then it extends further offshore, and that storm gave us along the eastern seaboard the last couple of days is now far offshore. High pressure, currently across the Great Lakes, also across the central Mississippi River Valley. We'll drift eastward, and that's going to give us great weather for the next several days. We'll start to warm up as we head towards the weekend. And we're looking at temperatures for the day today, generally ranging between 65 and 70 degrees. At night, it'll be fair down to the 40 to 45 degree range, a few places in the 30s in Pennsi and also around the Finger Lakes in northern sections of Vermont, New Hampshire, and Maine. We're also looking at uh generally fair skies for tomorrow. And temperatures on Thursday are going to average back to about 60 to 65. So a little change there with a high pressure cell right over the region on north-northeast winds. Also in the 60s on Friday, but Saturday it gets up close to 70 or in the lower 70s south and could range into the mid-70s in many places, with a chance of some scattered showers on Sunday of this weekend. If you are traveling today, fire air, we're looking at generally fair conditions. Weather's not going to be a problem because any delays in New York, Newark, LaGuardia, JFK, Philly, Baltimore, D.C., all the way down to Richmond. No problems there. Charlotte, Atlanta, and even central South Florida. The weather's looking pretty good. Also good in Houston, Dallas. Chicago might have some showers later in the day. Drier weather. It was raining yesterday in Minneapolis, but drier weather today. That low pressure will eventually spill into the nation's midsection, but it'll take a while. So dry weather from uh San Diego, Los Angeles, North to San Francisco, no problems in Portland and Seattle, expected for today. So some pretty good weather for flying, however, you know, we still have those problems with the budget, and that's causing uh some very sh uh shortfalls in employment, sharp falls in in personnel in both the National Weather Service and also at the FAA and uh all these folks who work 24-7, 365. And uh they do very good work for uh uh the citizens of this country. So uh let's hope for the best for them. Uh weather-wise, though, it looks like we're gonna get some best weather for the next several days, some typical mid-October weather. Hope you enjoy it. I'm in your brother, Steve Fellatier. That's the weather story for today. Have a great day, and we'll talk to you first thing tomorrow. See ya.
