High Pressure Brings Clear Skies While Southeast Storms Disrupt Travel

Stephen Pellettiere
SPEAKER_00:

Hi, this is Bindy Roger, Steve Pelleterian. I'm the Weatherman. Thanks for checking into the Weathermanpod.com on your Monday. It's the 27th day, the month of October, 2025. And we are looking at a big area of high pressure across the northeast, extending across much of Quebec province of Canada, extending southward into the Great Lakes, and then eventually eastward into the Mid-Atlantic. There are some showers just across Nova Scotia and northern sections of Maine, coastal sections of Massachusetts, and also rainy weather expected across the Carolinas today, extending into sections of Georgia, eastern Tennessee, and Kentucky, and also into central and south Florida as well. That area is going to be a fixture of clouds and threat of rain over the next several days for the Mid-Atlantic and over the southeastern states. But the high pressure cell will give us good weather for today across New York, Philadelphia, and Washington, and up in the Boston area. The showers will move east. So looking at pretty good weather for today, highs in the 50s, near 60. Tonight it'll be back into the 30s and lower 40s, and more dry weather for Tuesday, with temperatures also between 53 and 58. And that starts to break down across the northeast. Areas of rain and showers will gradually move in later Tuesday and on Wednesday, even on Thursday, a possibility of some scattered showers from this area of low pressure that'll be forming just off the coast of the Carolinas from the midweek period right up through the end of the week as well. So a little bit unsettled for this week. Now, if you're traveling today, it looks like good weather in New York, Philadelphia, also in the Washington, D.C. area, no problems today. Boston also generally looking dry, dry in Detroit and Chicago, and also Minneapolis, St. Paul, but it will be raining there tonight and for tomorrow. Central and South Florida, looks like lots of rain and some showers and thunderstorms. Expect some delays going into there. Also delays into Atlanta and Charlotte because of the rainy weather and IFR conditions in those places. Instrument conditions for much of the southeastern states. Houston and Dallas Fort Worth, basically dry, a little warm front moving through there. Dry and warm for today. Also warm from San Diego, LA, and San Francisco. It's finally stopped raining there. That rain has now moved into the central and eastern Rockies and over the Dakotas. Still, though, however, the possibility of some showers in Portland and Seattle during the afternoon today. I've been Roger Steve Pelletier and I am the Weatherman. Hope you have a great day today. It looks like pretty good weather for the Northeast today. And for a portion of tomorrow, but midweek, you'll be unsettled. We'll go over the details. First thing on Tuesday morning. See you then.
