Hi, this is Media Bogger Steve Pellethier, and I am the Weatherman. Thanks for checking into the WeathermanPond.com on your Friday, 30th day of the month of January, 2026. Very cold conditions across the mid-Atlantic and northeast. It's been a severe winter so far in December and January. Above normal snowfall, both day both months and uh below normal temperatures. Actually, six degrees below normal in December, about two degrees below normal on average from the Carolinas northward up into Boston for this month of January. And a big storm is going to be forming probably somewhere between, I'd say, six and twelve inches in the Raleigh area and Raleigh Durham. And also looking at lots of snow across the western mountains around Charlotte and also down into South Carolina. Even at Wilmington and the Outer Banks, there's a good possibility of hefty snows on Sunday. As that storm moves offshore, it'll slip just to the northeast, just east of the New York City area. Might give us a little bit of cloud cover, but it looks like the storm is moving away, and we're going to have dry weather right in through Monday and Tuesday of next week. And also a little bit milder. As a matter of fact, as we get into Groundhogs Day on Monday, temperatures will reach 30 to 35. Also in the lower middle 30s on Tuesday, and the dry weather trend will continue into the middle of the week. But it does look like some stormy conditions could arrive sometime either later Wednesday or Thursday in the northeast. Now, if you're traveling by air today, it looks like the weather situations are improving. We have uh basically northwest winds, a little cold front led through. The art of cold front reinforcing all the cold air. The cold weather advisory will continue into Saturday. Uh New York, LaGuardia, JFK, all looking pretty good weather wise, no problems weather-wise getting into those places. Boston's always pretty good at this point. Charlotte, no problem right now, but they will have delays later on Saturday into Sunday. So if you're going to go into that area, it will be quite treacherous and probably lots of cancellations into the Charlotte area later Saturday and Saturday night. In the Atlanta area, also looking dry, but there will be some rain and possibly even some snow showers in northern Georgia as well as the storm winds up and moves offshore. Central and South Florida looking pretty good, and they're going to get into some colder weather, especially for Saturday night and Sunday, but start to warm up as we head towards early next week. Houston and Dallas, Fort Worth looking pretty good. No problems weather wise there. Chicago just cold and maybe some snow showers, but no problems basically in that area. Los Angeles, San Francisco, and also up in Portland and Seattle. Well, up to Portland is looking okay, but in Seattle, probably some rainy weather, but dry weather through most of the California coast today. I've been Roger, Steve Pelletier, and I am the Weatherman. Hope you have a great day today. And we'll talk to you first thing on Saturday to cap off the month and check that storm out in the mid Atlantic States. We'll talk to you then.
