Hi, this is Bidi Balder Steve Pelletier, and I am the Weatherman. Thanks for checking into theweathermanpot.com on your Monday, second day of the month of February 2026. It's Groundhog's Day. Yeah, it's the day where various zoos across the country, in particular Puxitoni, Pennsylvania, they will pull out that rodent and uh somehow ask it if it sees its shadow or it does not. Doesn't matter what the weather will be, it all depends on what they feel is going to happen out there in Pucketoni. My bet is the way that this winter's been going, I think they'll probably extend it. Uh, you know, say six more weeks of winter, which is what's normal. As a matter of fact, uh the trend that we're seeing, at least for the first 15 days of February, for 16 days after today, uh, most likely going to average about seven degrees below normal. Yes, that's right, seven degrees below normal. The coldest period will be from February 5th until about February 12th. Thereafter, things will get back to normal, but then we'll start having some coastal storms, and that may include the possibility of uh some coastal storms that could give us some snow to the Mid-Atlantic and Northeast. This after the snows that we saw in North and South Carolina, even sections of northern Georgia and even southern Virginia and West Virginia, uh, between two and as much as 10 inches of snow fell in many communities there. They're working their way out of that this early portion of this first week of February, and it looks like up here around the Mid-Atlantic and Northeast, it will be generally dry weather. Sunny skies expected for your Monday, or highs will reach the lower 30s, finally going above or at least near the freezing mark. Clear skies at night, nighttime lows down to about 7 to 12. Tuesday's weather's looking mostly sunny. Highs for the day, 30 to 35. At night, there could be some snow showers overnight in early Wednesday, but nighttime lows back into the middle teens. Wednesday, partly sunny, 31. That incidentally is below normal by about five or six degrees. Should get up to about 37 degrees for a high, maybe around 20 for a nighttime low, and we're going to stay below that as we head towards Thursday. Sunny skies 29. Friday, strong cold front moving down out of the Great Lakes. Nordic cold front will be bringing the possibility of some snow showers or a period of some light snow or snow squalls. That'll be later on Friday and Friday evening. Then it opens the door to some sharply colder weather for Saturday and Sunday. Saturday sunshine highs only near 20. Upper teens expected for Sunday. Nighttime lows each day near zero. That trend will continue, as mentioned, right up to uh about maybe the 12th or 13th of this month of February. Then I think uh near normal or slightly above normal conditions, but even really has to go way above normal in order to uh make this month of February uh average. It's probably going to come in when you add it all up below normal by about four degrees. And again, uh precipitation amounts for the last six months, mid-Atlantic and Northeast have been below normal. Looks like that below normal trend will continue in this month of February as well. So, as mentioned, it'll be sunny today, lower 30s for Groundhog's Day. Groundhog will probably uh say there's gonna be another six more weeks of winter. Maybe, probably along. You never know. Never it's a 50-50 deal with me, but as far as the groundhog is concerned. And then uh sunny skies for Tuesday up to 33. Now, if you're traveling by air today, good weather across the northeast, just clear conditions, light north winds at New York, LaGuardia, JFK, no problems, major problems weather wise because of uh uh the high pressure building right across the region. It looks like fair weather up in Boston. Uh, DC also looking pretty good, as does Charlotte. Atlanta also doing well, no problems weatherwise there, central and south Florida, big area of high pressure from the Gulf, building eastward. It should give them some mild weather there. Houston and Dallas are looking dry. Chicago, some snow showers, fair but cold weather, bitter cold in Minneapolis. And looking out Los Angeles, San Diego, and San Francisco. Dry conditions continue there. And then rainy weather. What do you know it? Up in Portland and Seattle today. I've been your model, Steve Fellatier, and I am the weatherman. Hope you have a great day today. Talk to you first thing on Tuesday. See you then.
