Quick Intro And Date Check
SPEAKER_00Hi, this is Meteor Brother Steve Pellethi Radio. I am the Weatherman. Thanks for checking into the Weathermanpod.com on your Sunday. It's the eyes of March the 15th of the month. And it looks like through the Mid Atlantic and Northeast getting ready for some rain and some major changes coming about. And this as uh major blizzard conditions will be across the Great Lakes over the next 24 to 36 hours. Moving out of the Dakotas and out of sections of uh northern Colorado, northern portions of Iowa, and then heading towards the northeast. Some of the heaviest snows that we're going to see between it's hard to believe it, 15 and 30 inches, and that will lie uh in a line across southern sections of Minnesota, into Wisconsin, even into the UP of Michigan, and then into early Canada. But it does look like uh eventually the system moves through. That's going to cause some rain showers and thunderstorms here because we're going to be on the east side of that hole flow. It's a south wind coming right off the Atlantic. That keeps things warmer. So we'll have showers and some thunderstorms on Monday. But as the cold front moves through, it means business. The high pressure behind it, very cold. And that means uh rain showers will change to snow showers. There may even be some places where they'll get some accumulation, probably on soil surfaces, but you never know with these frontal systems and the squalls that develop behind these fronts as the low pressure systems go by. Then again, that's going to be on Monday night, Tuesday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, all fair, but generally cooler weather. Temperatures only in the 30s to near 40, which is going to be about five degrees below normal. So we've been way above normal, way below normal so far this month of March. Still, we're a little bit on the upside as far as our temperature trends are concerned. And we'll probably see between, oh, let's say three quarters and maybe an inch and a half of rainfall during the daytime on Monday and Monday night. And then some dry weather for the midweek. Now, if you're traveling by air today, as I mentioned, that major storm is going to be across the Dakotas, eastern sections of uh Kansas and Nebraska, uh, and also across in through Iowa, Minnesota, and Wisconsin into the UP of Michigan. That's where the heavy snow is. Heavy snow will be from eastern Nebraska, all across central and western Iowa, the southern portions of the Dakotas, actually eastern portions of the Dakotas, both north and south, uh, central and southern Minnesota and all across Wisconsin, where that between 15 and 30 inch area of snowfall will be. It's very strong winds, very cold conditions, blizzard-like conditions in those areas. And that'll be during the afternoon and evening hours. So any traveling into Minneapolis, St. Paul will most likely be canceled. Similar with Wisconsin, Chicago will have generally rainy conditions. They will get into some snowy conditions as the cold front moves through sometime during the overnight hours on Sunday, Monday. But in the east, we've got generally dry conditions, a little bit of cloud cover, but it looks pretty good for New York, LaGuardia, JFK, Philadelphia, Baltimore, and D.C., no problems weatherwise. No problem weatherwise up in Boston, but there'll be some showers in Charlotte. Maybe a few light showers in Atlanta, but nothing major. Central and South Florida continue the rainy weather that they've been having for the last several days. So all across from as far north as Daytona all the way down to Miami and across through Fort Myers out on the west coast. Even Tampa St. Pete may have some showers, so some delays getting into Central and South Florida today. Dry in Houston, however, it will be cloudy and a few showers in Dallas, Fort Worth, but that'll be clearing out. Dry in LA, San Francisco. Rainy weather returns to Portland and Seattle today. I've been your Ron Justine Pelletier and I am the weatherman. Hope you have a great day today. And we'll talk to you first thing on Monday. See you then.
