Quick Intro And Today’s Setup
SPEAKER_00Hi, this is Video Brother Steve Pelletier. I am the Weatherman. Thanks for checking into the WeathermanPod.com on your Friday, twelfth day of the month of June, 2026, and the heat continues.
Heat Advisory And Storm Timing
SPEAKER_00Looking at a sunny day across the Mid Atlantic and Northeast with the possibility of afternoon-evening thunderstorms. Last evening they seemed to occur from about 8 p.m. till 11 p.m. And there were some locally severe storms and moved across New Jersey, southern New York, and across the city and Long Island. Although storms are now off to the east and well away from the region actually have dissipated. New storms will fire up later on today and tonight. So look for partial sunshine with highs up to 95. Heat advisories continue, and the heat index values up to the lower 100s. West winds at 5 to 10. Federal system moving through will signal more thunderstorms into the evening hours in spots, not all places, and looking at uh maybe generally less than a tenth of an inch in some of those scattered thunderstorms, of course, right underneath some of those storms. That's where you're going to have those heavy downpours for short periods of time and in small areas.
Weekend Outlook Then Early Week Cooldown
SPEAKER_00But temperatures overnight into Saturday morning will get down to about the middle sixties. Looks like a sunny and warm day on Saturday, a northwest wind around 5 to 15, and temperatures will range into the upper 80s, lower 90s for the most part. And then on Sunday, it looks like another mostly sunny day with highs near 90. But another round of some showers and thunderstorms are likely on Sunday night into early Monday. That'll bring us a cooler flow for early next week. Monday and Tuesday sunshine, lower 80s both
Air Travel Delays And National Snapshot
SPEAKER_00days. Now, if you're traveling by air today, the northwestly flow continues across the region, and that means uh generally dry weather for the New York area up until the 4 p.m. to about 9 p.m. time frame, while there'll be some scattered thunderstorms. So if you're expected to go back out and then back into the area or expecting some travelers inbound into the New York area, there could be some delays during the evening hours. But I think we'll be okay early into the middle portion of the day. Similar situation up in Boston. Looks like DC, Baltimore, and Washington, D.C. into Odellas will also have the possibility of some afternoon and evening thunderstorms, but most of the time it will be dry. Looks like Houston and Dallas will be dry, dry in Chicago, some showers in Minneapolis, St. Paul. West Coast showing dry conditions continuing from San Diego, LA, all the way up to San Francisco. Also expecting dry weather in Portland and Seattle today as
