Today’s Sunshine And Local Temps

SPEAKER_00

And we've got sunshine upcoming for the day as our high temperatures get up to around 90. Yesterday we scanned the area temperatures ranged from about 91 to as high as 96 degrees. It was definitely a hot day on Friday and then cooled back with some scattered thunderstorms that moved through uh central and northern New Jersey, southeast New York, and Long Island. And uh they quickly moved just offshore as the evening continued. But today we have also uh just plenty of sunshine and highs in the 80s for the most part. It's a north wind near 90 degrees, but you're gonna find them mainly in the 80s around the area. And even along the Jersey Shore, Long Island shore, and Del Marva, you're going to have temperatures that will be cooler as the winds will be at a little bit more onshore out of the northeast during the afternoon hours.

Sunday Storm Chance And Cold Front

SPEAKER_00

There'll be some clouds moving in tonight. 70. It looks like daytime on Sunday. A partly sunny day, but there is a chance of some afternoon and evening thunderstorm. This is a strong cold front moving through on Sunday night. High Sunday 92 with those showers and thunderstorms, some locally severe. For Sunday night, nighttime low temperatures will drop back into the middle 60s.

Cooler Start To The Workweek

SPEAKER_00

But look at Monday. Plenty of sunshine 82. Tuesday 79, another sunny day, beautiful weather. And Wednesday, although mostly sunny and 82, just a chance of a late day or evening shower. May get back up to near 90 or into the 90s by Thursday and Friday of next week.

Air Travel And National Weather Scan

SPEAKER_00

If you're traveling by air today, the weather looks pretty nice all across the mid-Atlantic and northeast from DC up to Philadelphia, New York City, and Boston. Dry weather as high pressure builds into there. No problems flying in and out of the area airports. Atlanta, just some scattered showers, also scattered showers in Charlotte and Central and South Florida. A few light rain showers along the southern Texas Gulf Coast, but Houston, probably okay weather-wise. Dallas, Fort Worth also looking hot, but with a generally dry weather. The severe weather will be over southern Missouri and northern portions of Arkansas and northern Oklahoma during this afternoon and evening. Chicago's looking good, as does Minneapolis, St. Paul, West Coast dry weather from San Diego, LA, San Francisco, all the way up to Portland and Seattle again. Looks like some nice weather for the West Coast.
