Sunday Setup And Main Threat
SPEAKER_00Hi, this is Meteorologist Steve Pellet here, and I am the Weatherman, and thanks for checking into the WeathermanPod.com on your Sunday. It's the 14th day of the month of June, 2026, and we're looking at some pretty nice weather. A little frontal system that it's approaching the area for Sunday evening, and that could cause some locally severe uh thunderstorms and storms as the front moves through. Otherwise, we're just going to have generally a dry day across the mid-Atlantic and northeast, those showers and thunderstorms most likely occurring after the mid to late afternoon hours up into
Heat Then Nighttime Severe Storms
SPEAKER_00the evening. So our highs for the day, generally in the upper 80s and lower 90s on southwest winds, showers and thunderstorms at night. Again, some severe thunderstorms are likely. And the chance of proper chance of rainfall or precipitation is at 70%. So pretty good bet that we'll see a quarter to a half inch of rainfall. And of course, in thunderstorms, always get some higher amounts from place to place.
Cooler High Pressure Through Tuesday
SPEAKER_00Then the weather turns very nice. Big area high pressure moves in from the northwest from the Great Lakes. That'll bring us a mostly sunny day and a high in the upper 70s to near 80, almost perfect. Perfect weather continues until Tuesday, near 80. Maybe a chance of some showers and thunderstorms on Wednesday of this upcoming week. And back up to some heat, maybe 90 degrees, expected for Thursday before we cool back with more showers towards
Air Travel Outlook And Timing
SPEAKER_00the end of the week. Now,
Regional City By City Forecast
SPEAKER_00if you're traveling by air today, and you're only going on this Sunday, the weather's going to be pretty good in New York, Philadelphia, D.C., all the way up to the Boston area. It's later in the afternoon and the evening frontal system working its way across Ohio, the Ohio Valley, and the Tennessee Valley, will be arriving in the east, and that will bring us some locally severe weather. Looks like most of the severe conditions will be across eastern PA, most of New Jersey, uh, eastern Maryland, and Delaware. And it could even extend up into sections of southern New England as well. And that would be between 4 p.m. and 10 p.m. on Sunday. Then that big area of high pressure starts to build in from the Dakotas, and that's going to give us some pretty good weather. But in the meantime, uh daytime weather for the New York area is looking good, just those thunderstorms at night. Uh, there will be some scattered showers in Atlanta and also in Charlotte. And also the possibility of some heavier thunderstorms in uh northern Florida, Central and South Florida doesn't look too bad. Just some scattered showers there. Houston has some rain. Looks like the frontal system going through Dallas Fort Worth. Could be some thunderstorms with those. Dry weather continues across the West Coast, LA all the way up to Seattle. No problems weather wise there. Also in Chicago and up in Minneapolis, St. Paul, that high pressure is building in. So some pretty good weather for them later on today and tomorrow.
