Saturday Recap: Sunny And 80s

SPEAKER_00

Started out beautiful. We had a great day today across the Mid-Atlantic and Northeast. And uh temperatures were in the 80s. Plenty of sunshine compared with the clouds. Everything just really turned out quite nice for Saturday.

Sunday Turns Cloudier And Windier

SPEAKER_00

Uh on this Sunday, we are looking at clouds on the increase. A series of areas of low pressures and frontal systems arriving from the Midwest will bring us those clouds. And temperatures still manage to get up to 81, 86, so you are going to have some sunshine too. South winds at 5 to 15. We'll be gusting up to 25 at times during the afternoon

hours. Still some showers and thunderstorms are likely for tonight, probably after 3 a.m., closer to daybreak on Monday. Their overnight lows down to about 71. And some showers on thunderstorms will be with us on Monday. It'll be a variably cloudy day. Highs will range between 80 and 85. More thunderstorms are likely at night, but nighttime low temperatures generally ranging back into the 60s.

Brighter Midweek With Pop-Up Storms

SPEAKER_00

On Tuesday, the weather starts to improve, becoming partly sunny. Could be a straight thunder shower later in the day or at night, but it does look like very nice weather. So temperatures on Tuesday should average up to about 80 to 85. On Wednesday, it looks like partial sunshine 85. That chance of a late-day thunderstorm after 2 p.m. or during the evening hours. That type of pattern will continue into Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, and even Saturday of this upcoming weekend. So we've got some pretty nice weather coming up. This pretty typical weather for the month of August coming up over the next several

Air Travel Impacts Across The US

days. Traveling by air today, the bad weather will be moving into the northeast and to the New York area probably later in the day and at night, or actually overnight. So I don't see any major problems for New York, LaGuardia, JFK, Newark, and up in the Boston area. Phil there might be some later day showers, and showers are more numerous around Pittsburgh and also D.C. and Baltimore. Occasional rain during the afternoon and evening could slow things down a bit there. Also, rainy conditions into Charlotte, central and northern portions of Georgia, under clouds and the possibility of rain, but should be ending by later in the day. So minimal problems for Atlanta Hartsfield. Looking at uh showers and thunderstorms all over Central and South Florida. Dry weather at Houston and Dallas, but hot. Chicago and Minneapolis also on the dry side. Smoky in the northern and uh western sections of the Dakotas and Montana, northwestern Wyoming. Dry weather in LA, San Francisco, some light showers up in Seattle and Tacoma. So no major problems. Most of your bad weather is going to be across the Carolinas during the daytime today. And then uh more widespread showers and thunderstorms. So some delays expected for the Eastern Seaboard coming up
