Sunday's weather, though a little bit too cloudy, and uh increasing chance of some showers that did occur across the Mid-Atlantic and Northeast during the later afternoon and evening hours of that day yesterday, and looks like more rain for today. And there could be some locally heavy downpours, so on many commuters across the Mid-Atlantic and Northeast, a flood wash is in effect up until about the later evening today. For high temperatures or rains in the upper 70s and lower 80s, mostly cloudy. Showers and thunderstorms, you'll need that rain gear today, and the probability of rainfall at 90%. Wednesday and Thursday, both days about the same. It'll be partly sunny. Each day does have a light day or early evening thunderstorm chance, and each day high temperatures will range into the middle eighties. Quick peek at Friday, mostly sunny. Chance of a late day thunderstorm and a high of 86.

Air Travel Delays In The East

If you're traveling by air today, of course, here in the Northeast, any time you have a frontal system approaching, showers and thunderstorms, and the forecast slows things down considerably with some moderate delays expected for the New York, LaGuardia, JFK, and Newark area. That'll be for the later afternoon and early evening hours, the height of the possibility of those storms. Although storms will be with us at just about any time today, so uh there will be some delays. It doesn't look like major delays, but anytime you have those heavy thunderstorms. And if in fact we do have some locally severe weather development in late afternoon, early evening, that will uh cut things down by about an extra hour or two in delays. Similar situation up in the Boston area, DC, Philadelphia, all with a chance of rain. Rain also in Charlotte, Atlanta, also rainy weather. So a lot of delays in the eastern seaboard. If you're flat traveling today, expect a tough day for traveling. Uh, central and south Florida, also some scattered showers, some thunderstorms. Dry in Houston in Dallas, Chicago, also dry. Minneapolis, some clouds, but it's going to be dry.

National Weather And Western Smoke

Uh, very smoky weather across eastern Oregon, Washington, Idaho, northern sections of Montana, actually southern Montana and northern Wyoming, and even the western portion of the Dakotas with that smoky condition. But dry weather, LA, San Francisco, and Seattle. If you're traveling to the West Coast, maybe to the Pacific Northwest, you will encounter some of that smoke aloft into a very hazy look uh to altitude.
