Quick Intro And Date Check
SPEAKER_00Hi, this is Biddy Roger, Steve Pelletier, and I am the Weatherman. Thanks for checking into the Weathermanpod.com on your Sunday, 16th day of the month of August, 2026.
Sunday Clouds Then Storm Risk
SPEAKER_00And uh looks like generally beautiful weather that we had on Saturday giving way to some increasing clouds today, and a good possibility of some scattered showers and thunderstorms, especially during the afternoon and evening. The probability is going to be increasing to about 60%. Expected high temperatures generally in the mid-80s. So if temperatures get into the mid-80s, you have to have a decent amount of sunshine, but the clouds will rule out any of that extra sunshine for the afternoon hours. A thickening cloud cover will bring us those showers and thunderstorms into the evening, with nighttime low temperatures down to 67.
Week Ahead From Monday To Friday
SPEAKER_00Now, Monday's weather is looking partly sunny and warm once again, 85 to 90, and a chance of some late day and evening thunderstorms with uh nighttime low temperatures back down to about the mid-60s. Tuesday, sunny, 88. Wednesday, sunshine near 90. On Thursday, a chance of some thunderstorms 85. That's a cool front moving through, then mostly sunny, breezy, and cool. Nice weather on Friday. Friday's highs, 82. But recapping for your Sunday, an increase in clouds and maybe some afternoon
Flight Delays For Northeast Airports
SPEAKER_00evening showers. Traveling by air today, looks like the weather situation for the northeast, not too bad for the daytime today. However, in the afternoon and evening, there'll be those scattered thunderstorms that could cause some delays in the New York area airports. And up in the Boston area, also some scattered showers and thunderstorms are expected during the afternoon and the evening hours as well. Now, looking ahead uh up towards uh the daytime tomorrow, similar situations. A warm front will be very close by to us, so probably a little bit more extensive delays later day and evening expected for
National Weather And Fronts Overview
SPEAKER_00Monday. Elsewhere, however, for today, we do see dry conditions in Atlanta, a few scattered showers uh in the Washington, D.C. area, and also in Baltimore. However, down in Charlotte, it looks like dry weather. Dry weather also central and south Florida, Florida Peninsula looking pretty good. Chicago cold front moving through, so that will be some locally severe thunderstorms before that front. And then during the afternoon, we get into a clearing trend. Uh Houston and Dallas are looking dry. Dry weather continues on the West Coast, LA, San Francisco, all the way up to Seattle, Tacoma, no problems weatherwise, flying into the West Coast today. Looks like the biggest uh problem spots will be across the Ohio Valley, Mid Atlantic, and Northeast by later today and tonight.
