September Nor'easter Rainfall Recap

And taking a look back to the month of September, that pretty big storm last weekend. Very pretty, but it was uh quite a nor'easter that uh caused quite a bit of rainfall, damage, and flooding along the Jersey Shore, coast of Long Island, coastal New England, and even down at Dilmarva as well. And uh the storm basically, in some places, gave up to seven inches of rain in one day, or at least a series of two days. And that compared to the average amount of rainfall that we see around the northeast or mid-Atlantic and Northeast, which was between five and seven inches of rainfall in September. So there were some places where it was a lot higher than that, especially in sections of New Jersey and Long Island. However, the temperatures just about where they should be for this time of year. Actually, New York City was about a degree below in Central Park, a degree above around Trenton. And of course, Newark Liberty, always a little bit above normal since they moved their thermometer and their weather uh station there at the airport. But uh long story short, uh, this was a month of near-normal temperatures, but quite a bit of rainfall and stormy conditions. And we'll be talking about that nor'easter over the next several months. When we start looking back into some of the statistics from that storm,

Warm Today Then A Cooler Weekend

very interesting. Either way, we've got high pressure now across the mid-Atlantic states, a little frontal system poking through this morning, so there's a little extra cloud cover. There is a frontal system this morning that extends from the central Great Lakes from Lake Huron across to much of Lake Superior down into the nation's midsection, south to the Texas Gulf Coast. That will be arriving on Friday evening, but it will be a pretty warm day today with a little warm front poking through. Temperatures expected near 80 degrees with a decent amount of sunshine after early clouds. Friday's weather also starts off with sunshine, but gives way to an increase in clouds in that frontal system over the Great Lakes will be arriving in the east. That'll bring us some showers. But it does open the door to another high-pressure cell that's currently moving into Montana and Dakotas and Minnesota. That's gonna give us some great weather for this upcoming weekend into the first couple of days next week. Near normal temperature. That means high 60s to near 70, nighttime lows 40s to near 50. Real autumn-like weather coming up this weekend. But it's gonna be warm today and

Air Travel Weather Across The US

tomorrow. Traveling by air today looks like uh good weather in the New York Liberty area, New York, JFK, LaGuardia. No problems there. Philly's looking good. In Maryland at uh Baltimore, BWI, Dulles, and uh at uh Reagan, we are looking at some pretty good weather in DC. No problems in Charlotte. Atlanta's looking dry. Scattered afternoon and evening thunderstorms in South Florida. Rainy weather will delays into Houston, Javi, and looks like also looking at uh quite a bit of rainfall in the Dallas Fort Worth area with the possibility of some locally severe weather as well. And uh up in the Chicago area, more rain with that frontal system that's hanging just almost stationary right now. Dry in Minneapolis, St. Paul, dry weather in the west coast, except for Seattle, Tacoma, where there will be some scattered showers and isolated areas of uh rain that are less into the evening hours in the Pacific
