A D&D Story

Episode 86: What If The Dungeon Wants You Mad?

A D&D Story
SPEAKER_07:

Bro, that was the thirstiest fucking explanation of it. Pulsating, groaning, shuddering, fucking thick.

SPEAKER_06:

Welcome to a DD story. I am Brandon the Ashwookie, and with me today is Bill. Hello, I'm Bill.

SPEAKER_04:

I play Glenn, the half-elfue swashbuckler, who just turned level 14, and at level 14, rogues get blind sense. So if they can hear, they cannot be they don't need to see. Pretty good.

SPEAKER_06:

And Random. You have to take away.

SPEAKER_04:

So in order to stop Glenn, you have to take a both take away both his vision and his hearing. So good. Oh yeah, and he got I'm sorry, and he got the the cloak of invisibility, which is kind of a I I'm not sure. It'll be good up until the boss until the boss boss fight, and then it'll be effectively he'll have to think about how he can switch back, and then the dagger of venom, which poisons people.

SPEAKER_02:

I got a question for you. Follow-up question on your cloak. What are you gonna do? Because you got that Gujra cloak, too.

SPEAKER_04:

Yeah, I know. Brandon's mean to Glenn.

SPEAKER_02:

You sit to make a Glenn like Glenn.

SPEAKER_07:

Because Glenn has a it's a front cloak and a back cloak, and you put them together, they're like a ponch cloak.

SPEAKER_02:

You can make a poncho half invisible poncho? That'd be fun.

SPEAKER_04:

Because Glenn has been by Brandon so far. He's the only person of the original party. That's true. And Brandon is mad about it. I'm furious. So I don't know. I have attuned the cloak of invisibility, but I'm torn. I don't know. It's a difficult decision. Because I like the the the Guja cloak has a lot of RP flair to it, but Brandon does not like RP. So I'll shift over to the invisibility cloak.

SPEAKER_02:

Listen to the listen to the podcast. He hates it.

SPEAKER_06:

Notoriously, RP is my least favorite part about TV.

SPEAKER_07:

That's why we get through so many combats.

SPEAKER_02:

It's really it's a trudge. Just staring at that battle map.

SPEAKER_05:

Yep, all the time. Anything else, Bill? Can't agree more. Nope, that's it. I'm good. Okay. And Brandon.

SPEAKER_07:

Hey Brandon.

SPEAKER_05:

Hello, Brandon.

SPEAKER_07:

What's up, everyone? Coming at you with nines, the sexiest, most deviant, oblivious oblivious uh high elf monk. He doesn't know. He doesn't know what's going on. But man, if he did, he would change everyone's lives. Anyway, just reached level 14. Have a few cool extra things that I can do. I actually have uh proficiency now on actually I should probably just read out the names of these. Uh I now have oh, yeah, because it's cool. I have a diamond soul. Uh now I have uh or my uh Nines' mastery of his key allows him proficiency in all of his saving throws. Uh and I can use key points to re-roll failed saving uh throws, but I have to take the second result. Um but it uh and I got uh extra super duper unarmored movement, which moves up to 25 additional uh speed, putting me at 55 feet walking speed per round. That's six seconds so fast. Uh and then also I got uh Blessing of Mistra, which gave me a plus two, a permanent plus two to my dexterity. So now I'm sitting at twenty-two or a plus six. It's insane.

SPEAKER_06:

Nice Maddie.

SPEAKER_01:

Hi everybody, uh, I'm Maddie. I play uh Montoya and Ego. Uh I 100% full Arctic to Boxy Ranger, not half anything. Uh see. In the last battle, I got some pretty sweet bracers uh of archery or something to that extent. They gave me more damage to ranged attacks. So that's gonna be work out pretty well with Monty if he just sits back and keeps shooting. And um he definitely got uh the the the snot puckered out of him in the uh last uh battle because he kept trying to run away, and then apparently the the the BBEG could teleport.

SPEAKER_07:

Um you puckered so hard that snot came out?

SPEAKER_01:

Yeah, something like to that extent, pretty much. Yeah. I'm trying to keep it you know kid friendly because a lot of kids watch this.

SPEAKER_07:

And uh snot came out of where?

SPEAKER_01:

Yeah, yeah, exactly. You're thinking too much into this. Anyway, Monty uh in the last fight, Monty got beat up a whole bunch, even after he's like trying to run away and keep his distance. Um so for level 14, he took vanish, which will allow me to actually hide a bit better and hopefully uh evade enemies more and be a little bit sneaky at distance while he's uh trying to be the uh the the back line of our little team here. That's it for me.

SPEAKER_05:

And finally, Justin.

SPEAKER_02:

Hi, Brendan.

SPEAKER_05:

Hello, Justin.

SPEAKER_02:

Hi, everybody. I'm playing Sam Mooresbound. Uh she's a Lady Half-Work, Barbarian Path of the Storm Herald. Uh Mr. gave Sam a plus two permanent bonus to strength, bringing in the total to 20. Uh, which we, after rigorous discussion, decided that I that's the topic and go. Unless I get some other kind of godly boon. Uh at my level 14, I only gained one little perk. It's really not that powerful. No one should be worried about it. When I take my bonus action to make lightning strike something, now when it hits a bad guy, which there's no like save, it just hits uh I can use my reaction to force that creature to make a stank strength throw, and if they fail that strength throw, it just gets knocked prone. And just every round I can do that, so it's done gun that big of a deal.

SPEAKER_06:

That's pretty good.

SPEAKER_02:

No, it's fine.

SPEAKER_07:

Uh you think Sam will yell out stop resisting every round? Well, uh, she will now stop resisting. I'm glad you guys laughed, but it's not actually that funny. It's a little funny because it doesn't happen to be perfect. There you go. Yep, now we're back, folks.

SPEAKER_02:

I thought you have a uh a shout-out uh just real quick. Uh I just was uh involved in a D game relatively recently that had a really epic boss fight uh with lots of cool uh combat phases with like a really collective killing of a brutal god. It's pretty great you guys should listen to it.

SPEAKER_06:

You mean episode 85 of this podcast?

SPEAKER_02:

Yeah, that's the one. Oh, nice. I was like, what are you talking about?

SPEAKER_07:

I was I was riveted. I was waiting to hear the story.

SPEAKER_02:

I feel like that's an accurate write-up.

SPEAKER_05:

Pretty slow. You guys did do the final blow together.

SPEAKER_06:

All right, as always, everybody, thank you for following us like and us giving us ideas. It means a lot to us. Uh make sure you give us a like and a follow at facebook.com slash ad story. Retweet us on Twitter or EX at ad story too. Uh follow us on Instagram at Instagram.com slash ad story. And finally check us out on blue sky at BSKY.app at a dn d story. We have a new winner for our most downloaded episode, and it is nine's backstory.

SPEAKER_07:

Yeah, that's so great. I I feel honored to be better than everyone else. And like with with proof now. That's so like it just fucking blows my mind. It's really great.

SPEAKER_01:

Oh, the monastery fight?

SPEAKER_07:

That's a fun one. Yeah.

SPEAKER_06:

Most downloaded episode, nine's backstory.

SPEAKER_07:

I mean, because nines is the secret main character.

SPEAKER_06:

There were some good one-liners in that movie. Or in that show and Glenn are gonna have a problem with one another.

SPEAKER_07:

No, it uh 9's is the uh second season uh uh side character who comes in and changes the tone of the show uh and replaces you know the uh the boring character from from the first season. I don't know who the boring character from the first season was. So this is maybe not exactly the the way that I wanted this to go. Uh I should not have made any sort of comparison. I apologize.

SPEAKER_01:

Why do we find Nines dead in his sleep?

SPEAKER_06:

I don't understand. Bill, you can't just message me that you want to stab Nines.

SPEAKER_07:

You have to roll for that shit. Yeah, you gotta roll for that shit. And I got proficiency in all my saving throws now, bitch.

SPEAKER_06:

Um if you haven't heard from our last few episodes, the first episode of our new campaign, Oathbreaker, is being released. Make sure you check that out. It'll be posted on all of our normal social medias, um, but it will be under a different uh channel on the Spotify, Apple, whatever you're listening to us on. So those will be posted on our social media platforms so you can find them as well. Let's roll for some recap. Oh.

SPEAKER_07:

Shout out and quick plug for uh draw steel. You guys played uh the other night. How did that go?

SPEAKER_05:

It was fun. I had a good time.

SPEAKER_07:

I didn't die. It's a new system. Uh the the combat feels pretty board gamey, um, but it it also leaves a lot of room for fun RP interpretations. Uh I I come to the Discord channel every Saturday night, 9 p.m., and I will sit there and do something else until somebody else joins and wants to talk about draw steel.

SPEAKER_06:

So you have draw steel open hours.

SPEAKER_07:

I have draw steel open hours starting at 9 p.m. Open hour Eastern time. Yeah, every Saturday night. So like it is a good time.

SPEAKER_06:

Brennan tells a good story, and the advantage of having him DM for you is not a player for you, so go check him out. Ouch. Damn.

SPEAKER_07:

Would have called that a drawback myself, but okay.

SPEAKER_06:

Alright, some recap. We did a lot last episode. Everybody give me a roll. And a five.

SPEAKER_07:

Uh natural 20.

SPEAKER_06:

Damn.

SPEAKER_04:

Coming in hard. So how how could you get an unnatural 20? Oh, I wanted to do the recap. I was ready to do the recap.

SPEAKER_01:

I know. I was actually excited to roll a one on this recap. This is gonna be the easiest inspiration you earn ever. I did roll a one. A natural one.

SPEAKER_06:

A natural one. A natural one. Alright. One the hard way. Yeah. Maddie, give me a recap of episode 85.

SPEAKER_01:

But with my modifier, I add a plus zero to that one, and it gives me a one. Hell yeah. Alright, y'all. Here's what we did. We fought the bad guy, and we won. Mistra gave us some stuff. And we already covered all that stuff, so that's really the hard part. And that was that. I mean, that really that was the entire episode. I guess the other one.

SPEAKER_07:

He's saying just go listen to it.

unknown:

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01:

I think the only thing that's worth calling out is halfway through the battle against Theros' uh Talos.

SPEAKER_07:

Whoever. It doesn't matter. He's dead now.

SPEAKER_01:

He's dead now, yeah. What's his name? What's his name? I've totally forgot about that guy already. Uh while we were brutally uh just whipping around his avatar, uh Mistress showed up and um kind of helped us out a little bit.

unknown:

Okay.

SPEAKER_01:

Borderland helped. But uh, and after that she opened up a portal and sent us on our way.

SPEAKER_06:

I mean, that is a good a decent recap. Um do you remember what portal you all chose?

SPEAKER_01:

Uh the one in front of us.

SPEAKER_06:

You had a few.

SPEAKER_01:

And we chose one of them.

SPEAKER_06:

Come on, Maddie. This is the only thing I'm asking of you for this recap. Okay.

SPEAKER_01:

I'll have to go back and actually look that one up. That was like a fire planet or something.

SPEAKER_06:

It was a red portal, I'll give you that.

SPEAKER_01:

A red portal, okay.

SPEAKER_06:

Yes. Yeah. Alright. Yeah, Maddie, you got some inspiration. Are you kidding me? Wow. Such a garbage reconciled.

SPEAKER_07:

Fucking low bar.

SPEAKER_04:

Holy shit. I was ready to do this one.

SPEAKER_07:

We fought a fucking giant lion man, and he says nothing about it.

SPEAKER_04:

So he fucking rebounded using the best parts. Yes. So Talus's eye was basically an 80s power fantasy villain, complete with an eye patch and booming laughter. True. But setting the stage, so set setting the scene, we emerged from a wrecked house, the party faces Talus, a towering figure surrounded. Yeah, Chad GPD edited this for me. I get to know his armor swirls around him like a living thing in his black and steel helm crown with a silver and gold wings draws everyone's focus. The blue gem at the helm center thrums with power. Suspected to be a piece of Mistra. But but yeah. We force caged him for some reason, which ended up nothing. I wanted to try it out.

SPEAKER_07:

It was Mistra just gave me this ability, this level 7 spell, and Nines wanted to force cage the fuck out of a giant bad guy.

SPEAKER_04:

No, I'm just saying that yes, it was a valid. I probably would have done it too. I'm just saying that it didn't work out for Justin.

SPEAKER_07:

It didn't work.

SPEAKER_04:

Yeah. Um Monty kept trying to run away from Talos and kept getting caught.

SPEAKER_01:

Um I talked about that part already. Alright.

SPEAKER_04:

So yes. And then well, actually, first before we killed him, so Mr. showed up and we did a bunch of damage to him, and after after we did so much damage to him, uh uh Glenn with a a force push knocked his helmet off of his head and he turned back into his normal unavatar un-avatar form, which was still pretty large. And then we proceeded to finish above average. Yeah. And then uh Mystery continued to help us throughout the throughout the fight by like giving us speed or haste and and stuff like that. And then so we all killed we all killed him at the same time, and then we got some stuff.

SPEAKER_02:

I think one of my favorite uh single actions of that fight was when Nines hurled his javelin into uh whatever his name was, our our god enemy because Talos kept teleporting all over the place to try to crush Monty and getting out of range of us melee guys, and so Nines hurled his javelin and then Misty stepped using the javelin's ability onto him and just started pummeling him from across the map. It was in my head pretty fucking awesome.

SPEAKER_07:

Yeah, and that I mean being able to teleport to the weapon that you just stuck into your enemy, shut the fuck up. Like I'm already on board.

SPEAKER_05:

Pretty good.

SPEAKER_07:

Literally on board in this case. I was on board of the enemy. Yeah.

SPEAKER_03:

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01:

I I thought usually once you stick your spear in, the goal is to run away.

SPEAKER_06:

You I gave Niger Splinter opportunities to stick a spear in, and he didn't.

SPEAKER_07:

That's right.

SPEAKER_04:

Stick your spear in different than what I do.

SPEAKER_01:

We're still we're still talking about combat, right?

SPEAKER_07:

Is not interested in your lusty harlots, your lusty Jezebels. Keep them off of his dick.

SPEAKER_06:

Okay. Uh yeah, that was great. Is it how do we do that little ping thing again? Make a sound. Oh yeah, it's like slash note, right?

SPEAKER_07:

Oh yeah, didn't we decide to fucking clap or something?

SPEAKER_06:

Yeah, but the clap doesn't work. We have pop filters on. All of us have two good microphones.

SPEAKER_07:

No, we we we turn off the noise suppression so that everybody knows. Wow, it actually worked. I got one.

SPEAKER_01:

The first one worked.

SPEAKER_06:

I heard that. Yeah, yeah. There you go. Okay. Yeah. Okay, here we go. So uh you all step through uh step through the portal, and as soon as you enter through the other side, the the in complete the environment's just completely different, right? The air is really thick around you. Uh it's almost it's it's almost heavy with with sorrow, and you can feel the oppression in the air. Uh the canyon walls around you are are bright red, almost a crimson color, and you can feel the ground's heartbeat. And it's it's a fast-paced beat, almost like it's filled with a fury or or or or wrath that you've never felt before. Uh the wind is howling past you, and it's it's like hate is whispering in your mind, it's coiling through your head, and every step that you take in this land, you can feel the anger scratching at the edges of your mind. Uh as you descend in this canyon, um it it feels like you're going into a grave. The sky above you is a sickly grey, it's as if the heavens themselves shy away from this very place. Lightning crackles in the clouds above you, and every rumble of thunder feels like a war drum pounding in your chest. The deeper you go in this canyon into this world, the more the world decays. The rocks around you are seeping a red uh a red liquid. Uh if you see if you do happen to see trees, they ha they hang twisted and broken, and it seems like with every step the earth is groaning beneath your feet. Red crystals are jutting out from the cliffs like jagged teeth, and they're pulsing slowly with each beat of the earth that you feel below your feet. If you as you pass crystals, they seem to shudder, uh and they seem to scratch at your mind, whispering snatches of broken thoughts, rage, betrayal, grief, memories not your own yet all too familiar. There's no birds here, no beasts cry out, only the howling wind and the endless aching drumbeat of wrath guide your way. And through it all you can feel someone watching you, something ancient, something hungry. Uh and Monty.

SPEAKER_01:

Uh are we in a forest?

SPEAKER_07:

Bro, that was the thirstiest fucking explanation of wholesale.

SPEAKER_06:

I've been on a work trip for a week. When I got home, my wife was at a conference. She just got home. Sorry.

SPEAKER_01:

Brandon Brandon just recapped his uh his his first marriage and uh his intro.

SPEAKER_06:

Yeah. Pure anger. Oh, it's gonna get better. You ready for this, Brandon?

SPEAKER_01:

But I seriously want to know if my natural explorer works in this place or not. This is not a forest. Uh dang. What a grasslands. Arctic? Is it cold here?

SPEAKER_06:

It is not cold. Actually, the opposite. Oh, okay. Damn.

SPEAKER_07:

It's hot. It's steamy. It's thick and veiny. What if there's dripping lightning and creamy thunder? We penetrate deeper and the groaning grows.

SPEAKER_06:

Is it porn? I'm trying to set a scene.

SPEAKER_07:

Did you say red portal or red pornel? So does every porn.

SPEAKER_00:

Hey, stepbrother, come help me. My head is stuck in the dryer.

SPEAKER_06:

What are you doing, Stephen Canyon? This portal. You know, we have made that joke way too many times in this podcast. People are gonna start thinking things. Like what? What do you mean? Dart?

SPEAKER_07:

Really? I'm your sister. I'm your sister.

SPEAKER_01:

Oh, Joe Dirt. Man, I love that show.

SPEAKER_03:

Oh, Joe Dirte. Dirte.

SPEAKER_07:

Last guard. Dig it.

SPEAKER_06:

So uh as you're looking through this canyon, just beyond uh, or or just down the way, you can see uh you can see a temple standing in the middle of this canyon. Or at least what remains of one. It's uh you can see even from this distance that it's split and shattered by red crystals that are growing and twisting out of the foundation. And you can also see massive iron doors. Uh and one of them is completely bent inward. It looks like something had burst out from within. Uh it hangs cr uh hangs uh at an angle from its hinge. And then above the entrance you see a a single symbol, and it looks like it is the combination of a half demon, half boar in a semicircle.

SPEAKER_02:

Okay. I'm trying to imagine. It's like like Ouroboros chasing itself, half circle.

SPEAKER_06:

Yeah. I can I can drop the image in here, but yeah, it looks like uh a semi-circ uh it looks like a a semicircle with a twisted face inside in inside of it. It's a half demon, half boar.

SPEAKER_02:

Oh, okay. Just a s yes. So we're at like one end of this canon. Correct.

SPEAKER_04:

You don't like my description?

SPEAKER_02:

How uh we're gonna do that.

SPEAKER_07:

That's Bill. Leave it to me, I got this.

SPEAKER_02:

You're doing such a good job. Uh how high are the canyon walls? I assume we're at the bottom of this canyon, not at the top. Looking down. Yes, you are at the deepest part of this fissure. How how deep are we, Brandon?

SPEAKER_06:

Is it a box canyon? Yeah, so at the canyon's deepest wound, you find this yawning fissure of a temple. Like a gash. Yeah, like a huge gash. Dripping gash in the earth. It's as as it's as if the temple tore itself out of the earth and it's just a a festering wound.

SPEAKER_07:

That's gross. Like my entire vagina uh vagina like thought process for this canyon has been tainted by your festering crystals.

SPEAKER_02:

Tainted is a different thing.

SPEAKER_01:

That's that's on the other side of this entrance. You'll find it.

SPEAKER_02:

That actually depends on how big the sword is.

SPEAKER_07:

So I'm I'm imagining a um kind of a uh the what is it, the temple of Petra in Jordan? Um yeah. Where it's just like the the canyon walls are just like straight up and we're like down where light can barely reach almost.

SPEAKER_06:

Yeah, so it it's the the canyon walls, though you can see the top of the canyon, like the top of the walls itself, it's probably a good 200-foot climb out.

SPEAKER_02:

Oh my god. So looking up, is it just like a sliver of sky overheads at this point?

SPEAKER_06:

Yeah, it's a sliver of sky, but uh in in the canyon walls themselves, there's cr red crystals and red and crimson crystals sticking out at different angles. There is a difference between red and crimson, if that's your question, Bill.

SPEAKER_07:

Bill put his fucking hand down. He she pushly dropped his fucking hand. Uh bro, use read person.

SPEAKER_02:

Justin. Just speaking of how high these uh canyon walls are, and with only being like a sliver of that sky above us, how dark is it?

SPEAKER_06:

There is a dim light source shining into the canyon. Um, do any of you have dark vision? I have dark vision. I do.

SPEAKER_07:

I don't know. Let me check my character sheet.

SPEAKER_06:

Please do.

SPEAKER_07:

I'm just kidding. You idiot. I can't believe you fell for that.

SPEAKER_02:

You absolute rube. Alright, I'm I'm good now. I feel better. Thank you. Okay.

SPEAKER_06:

Alright, so I just described the scene to you. You've all stepped out of the portal. Um, what do you all want to do? Or do you want to say anything to each other?

SPEAKER_02:

Legit question. As we step through and look around, is there any signs of life near us?

SPEAKER_06:

Other no, there's no signs of life. The only the only things you see around you are the crystals, uh, some some dead skeletons of trees. Um there's nothing growing on them. You don't see any life itself.

SPEAKER_01:

What a wonderful place we find ourselves in.

SPEAKER_07:

Uh nines will say, uh, tell me again why we chose the red portal. I was gonna ask who kind of looked hot.

SPEAKER_04:

Looks over at Sam.

SPEAKER_02:

Sam doesn't look at you. Sam looks away.

SPEAKER_01:

Monty kind of like he he steps back and forth between his feet and like picks up one foot and it's kind of gushy and has red garbage all over the bottom of it. He's like, uh yes, I this might have been a poor choice. Guys, we should go check out that temple. Is the portal gone? Can we go back?

SPEAKER_03:

Stop checking. Is there a portal behind us?

SPEAKER_06:

Alright. So, I need everybody to give me a wisdom saving throw.

SPEAKER_07:

That's not my worst saving throw. Hey, ooh. Look at me who's got proficiency now.

SPEAKER_06:

Glenn is notoriously good at these. Which I'm glad. Oh, uh, yeah, so Sam, you get disadvantage on this throw. Nines, you get advantage on this throw.

SPEAKER_02:

Why do I have disadvantage? Just curious.

SPEAKER_06:

Uh, just because the nature of Sam is a barbarian.

SPEAKER_02:

Well, I rolled a 11 for my first one, so it's gonna do better the second one for sure. Oh, and that's a four. Yeah, I got a four.

SPEAKER_07:

I'm getting the feeling that uh Sam's wisdom is a little questionable here in this land of rage. Not my worst score, just you know?

SPEAKER_06:

Not my worst one either, but you rolled above a ten.

SPEAKER_02:

On my first time. Okay.

SPEAKER_06:

Uh so Glenn and Glenn got above a ten. Glenn and nine, uh, though you can feel this it it feels like an itching in your mind itself, you're able to push it away with some concentrated thought. Uh Sam, as you're as you're sitting there, you you remember the loss of Moors, of uh all the friends that you've had before you, the loss of your your instruments of your musical instrument store. And it just fills you with this this anger. And though you're able to control it at the moment, you can you've you've never been this angry before. Uh nines or not nines, sorry. Um Monty. You you miss Adelaide, and the loss of her not being able to find her burns within you. And uh for the remainder of this scenario, you all have a you both have a minus one to wisdom saving thrusts.

SPEAKER_02:

Kidding me. Just modify that over here. This garbage.

SPEAKER_04:

Does Glenn notice them being affected?

SPEAKER_06:

No, neither of you notice this at the moment. This is all internal with no external uh uh views. Unless one of the players wanna RP this at all.

SPEAKER_04:

I'm just saying, because you said that I felt a itching in my brain. Yes.

unknown:

Okay.

SPEAKER_02:

Alright, and wisdom is now tied for my worst score. What is your worst score? Intelligence? Well, it's tied with wisdom, yeah. Yeah. That's fine. I didn't use it anyways.

SPEAKER_04:

I oh, because I have I was like, why is my intelligence saved so high? I forgot I was proficient.

SPEAKER_01:

Just when we're in this plane.

SPEAKER_06:

Yeah, just while you're in this plane. Alright, so I'm gonna do it. Yeah, wisdom saving. Not not nine's, not you.

SPEAKER_07:

Yeah, I'm just no taking.

SPEAKER_06:

Yeah, it's wisdom saving throws.

SPEAKER_04:

So how far away would you say the temple is?

SPEAKER_06:

Uh half a click. I'm sorry, a click. Evolution. Uh yes. Uh reminded me of that Saturday night live skin. It's probably it would it's about a quarter mile from you. Okay. That may actually be half a click. I think it is.

SPEAKER_04:

I mean close, but Sam.

SPEAKER_02:

Uh yeah, so uh being angered now. Not quite raging, but just like grumpy in general. She kind of just hunches her shoulders up and then kind of stomps mildly stomps towards the uh the thing without saying anything to the rest of the guys. Towards the temple.

unknown:

Okay.

SPEAKER_07:

Uh nines is going to uh obliviously follow along.

SPEAKER_04:

Okay. So the uh the temple's about what, fifteen hundred mile fifteen hundred feet away. How wide is the canyon? Uh it's it's about seventy-five feet from wall to wall.

SPEAKER_06:

Okay, and then past the canyon or past the temple can we see anything? Yeah, there's there's the canyon stretches beyond that as well. Okay, so it's not a box canyon. No, it is not.

SPEAKER_07:

Only in so much as it is a gash and and the uh firm or the the earth. I don't say firmament, but the earth is a good thing.

SPEAKER_06:

Yeah, it's a deep wound in the earth.

SPEAKER_04:

Firmament works.

SPEAKER_07:

No, firmament's the other way.

unknown:

Okay.

SPEAKER_07:

I know, right?

SPEAKER_04:

So you said it's hot and dry. Is that what you said?

SPEAKER_06:

Yes. It is extremely hot, extremely dry. It is the ground is cracked beneath your feet. Uh, it looks like this place hasn't seen rain or moisture of any kind in in years.

SPEAKER_04:

Okay, that's okay. We gotta plenty of mayonnaise.

SPEAKER_00:

Um, did you have a question?

SPEAKER_06:

No.

SPEAKER_04:

Oh, okay. Um, and then the canyon makeup, is it slope sloped in like or out? Wait, in. Do the walls slope in or just straight up? So the sun is the sun is beating down on us? Yes. Okay. Alright. Uh Glenn is just gonna walk forward.

SPEAKER_01:

Monty will look over his shoulder as he sees the uh portal dissipating and will breathe a breath a sigh as he uh remembers Adelaide and misses her, and then begrudgingly will turn around and follow the group as he clutches his bow.

SPEAKER_06:

Alright. Sorry. Need to start something. Um okay. So, as you approach the temple, uh, just like I described before, you can see one of the doors that are off its hinge. Uh, and uh the temple itself has these red crystals protruding all over it. It's almost like uh it it it's like the crystals have taken over this temple. And then but right before you reach the threshold, you spot a circle of blackened stone set into the earth to the left of the door. Uh they're partially buried under the dust, and there's some shattered crit red crystals around it. You can see some symbols in that circle. Uh they're they're worn by just the time and the dust and the wind. Um, but even with the time that's passed, they still shimmer a little bit in the cracks. Uh the the storms fla la the stones form a ring that it's it's about uh four feet in diameter. And at its center is a simple altar. It's cracked, but it's still in intact. It looks like it's made out of some kind of animal bone, and it rests upon a dry basin uh ringed with small crystal veins. And who has what's everybody's arcana? Zero.

SPEAKER_02:

Minus one.

SPEAKER_06:

Monty, are you our most magical person right now? I hope not.

SPEAKER_04:

What's my arcana? But I have uh if I get to talk to Arnold. If uh if I'm allowed to consult with Arnold, I have advantage.

SPEAKER_06:

You do have advantage, that's true. Uh Nines and Monty. You both feel that there's a faint hum of dormant magic that's tingling in this circle.

SPEAKER_07:

Uh Nines says, I feel like there's a faint hum of latent magic tingling in this circle.

SPEAKER_02:

Sam kicks some dirt at it. Grumpily. What does Sam do? She kicks some dirt at it. She's still seething quietly. Semi-raging? No. You're raging, Brandon.

SPEAKER_07:

Oh, yeah, seething quietly? I mean I think you mean seething petulantly.

SPEAKER_04:

Uh Glen. So Glenn will take out uh Glenn's big book of gods and uh be paging through it looking for any similarities, any pictures, while also consulting with Arnold to see if he can figure out whose temple this is or was, and if somebody else has taken over it.

SPEAKER_06:

Okay. Great. So while he's uh searching through his big book, you do not get a response from Arnold.

unknown:

Okay.

SPEAKER_06:

As a matter of fact, your hat has not spoken to you in days, and you're just not sure why. Um, so Glenn will try to persuade Arnold to come out. Okay, give me a persuasion roll. Thirty-three. Uh you hear a small chuckle, but he d other than that he does not respond to you. Another useless magic item. Uh Nines. Monty, or either of you want to do or investigate the circle, uh, say anything to your friends.

SPEAKER_01:

Uh yeah, Monty will kind of silently just walk up there, acknowledging that no Nines, what Nines said, and walk up and investigate it.

SPEAKER_07:

Yeah, nine's nines is gonna stand like in I'm not touching you distance uh of the circle.

SPEAKER_06:

Alright. Both of you give me either a religion or an arcana check.

SPEAKER_01:

They both are pretty bad.

SPEAKER_06:

No, nine's kind of thrives on religion.

SPEAKER_01:

Yeah. Well, that's bad for me. I got a 16, so the worst.

SPEAKER_07:

Yeah, I got plus seven in religion, and with my sixteen roll, I got a twenty-three.

SPEAKER_06:

Hell yeah. So nines. Uh you can identify that this is uh this circle is based off of a ritual that uh this circle is based off of a ritual that requires a willing sacrifice of the appropriate emotion. Uh it's a symbolic gesture to purify the to purify something of rage before entering. And Okay At the same time, Glenn, you uh you find the symbol in your book of the gods on page 71. And uh you can you see that this is Erethnol. He's also known as the Many or the Horde. Uh and in the description it says Erethnol is the god of hate, envy, malice, panic, ugliness, and slaughter. He is known as the many, is worshipped by gnolls, trolls, ogres, and bugbear tribes, in addition to humans, typically in small cults. Um as you're reading your book, you find out that uh Aerethnol basically anything that creates mass slaughter or hysteria pleases Arethnol. Uh so his followers may finish people off on the battlefield, or uh try to force a ceasefire to fall apart so that they can slaughter uh the enemy or pillage a small countryside village, that kind of thing. Uh and they typic they typically try to kill or maim anybody that they come across.

SPEAKER_04:

Okay. Um so as as Glenn is looking back at his pages, he's trying to figure out if Malar or Aerith all Arithdal is labeled incorrectly, because one of them is, um, trying to figure out which one's 70 or 72. Um but uh he will relay some of that to the party, basically saying that this this temple is dedicated to a um a god of rage, and he kind of looks over at Sam. But not your kind of rage. Um not the the pure rage that you have, more like the evil type of rage. Sam kicks dirt. You are you serious?

SPEAKER_02:

Yeah. She's she's upset.

SPEAKER_04:

Glenn will look at her and say, Hey! And then uh cast residation.

unknown:

So anyway.

SPEAKER_07:

One step closer to the edge. And I'm about to break.

SPEAKER_06:

So yeah, Nines, uh you just heard Glenn's explanation of what Erethnol is. Um and now that you're hearing this, you can also you can also uh you can understand some of the glyphs with the context that Glenn has given you on the circle. And you can see that there's a couple offerings that you can you can give to this ritual if you would like. Uh you can either uh let some of your blood out into the basin, so by with a small cut or dagger. Uh it describes a confession of rage, or you can spend a spell slot of level two or higher. Uh, it actually says feed the basin with energy. So a spell slot of two or higher.

SPEAKER_07:

Oh man. Okay, uh, so uh Nines is uh with a disgusted face going to describe how you have to leave some of your blood behind or or have emotions other than intense calm and just weirdly happy, uh, or pour some energy into it.

SPEAKER_04:

So d okay, you said this out loud, so Glenn pulls out his dagger and said, Does it matter whose blood? as he looks around the group.

SPEAKER_07:

Uh yeah, uh Nines will quickly and placatingly, you know, hands up, uh sort of whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa. Uh it has to be your own blood. It's a sacrifice. Like, if you don't sa if if it's not from you, then it's not a sacrifice. And if it's not a sacrifice, then it doesn't work.

SPEAKER_04:

Um so you and I, different definitions of sacrifice.

SPEAKER_07:

Um Master the Lion taught me this definition. I assumed it was correct.

SPEAKER_04:

So uh Glenwell Okay, never mind. You were you raised your hand, Sam. Go er Yeah, sure, Sam. Go ahead.

SPEAKER_02:

Um Sam pulls the the Gujarat feather dagger. Still angry faced, staring at you, just pulls it across her left palm and just like dripping circle this thing.

SPEAKER_06:

Yeah, Sam, as uh as the as the blood leaves your hand and enters this basin, it's like the the material around it, the stone and the bone that that makes the altar glows this dull red color, and the your blood is absorbed into the altar itself. And then you feel a sense of calming around you. And now instead of disadvantage for your wisdom saving rolls, uh any wisdom saving throws that you make, you have uh uh you just normal rolls.

SPEAKER_02:

She uh she just wipe her palm on her leather shirt thing. Jerkin. It'll stop. Reps in your eye. Do I take any damage for that?

SPEAKER_06:

Uh yes, you take 15 hit points.

SPEAKER_07:

What the how many blood did you let out?

SPEAKER_06:

How many blood?

SPEAKER_04:

You heard me.

SPEAKER_07:

I made my choice.

SPEAKER_04:

Apparently a lot.

SPEAKER_07:

You said advantage. Yeah, while while Sam.

SPEAKER_06:

Oh, sorry, good. Just normal roll instead of disadvantage.

SPEAKER_07:

Oh, because you sacrificed your backup to no disadvantage for those saving throws. Correct. Um, yeah, while while this is happening, while Sam is letting her blood out like this, uh, as disgusted as Nines is about the idea, he knows that other people have other cultures and customs, and it's okay. Um, but he he looks at uh Monty and Glenn and is like, wait, didn't she hear about the part of uh your Eurythra being like real evil or whatever?

SPEAKER_04:

No, my question was gonna be, what are we sacrificing for? Um but I I guess we're there now.

SPEAKER_07:

Um yeah, right? And Sam's on it.

SPEAKER_04:

Sam's angry.

SPEAKER_02:

She's mad. She's ready to be done with this fucking circle.

SPEAKER_06:

As she's bleeding over it, she just starts kicking dirt.

SPEAKER_00:

That's gonna get affected.

SPEAKER_06:

Um, I actually am gonna need everybody to give me so you as as you're sitting here contemplating, the the anger starts to scratch at the side of your head again. I need everybody to give me a wisdom saving throw. And nines, once again, you do have advantage.

SPEAKER_01:

Good thing I'm uh getting better at these as the day goes on. What the fuck? I got a 14.

SPEAKER_07:

Yeah, I rolled two fives. And I came out with a fourteen.

SPEAKER_04:

I mean, I got a seventeen.

SPEAKER_07:

That's still pretty good.

SPEAKER_06:

I mean, I am internet.

SPEAKER_02:

So I lost minus one. Give me a regular added.

SPEAKER_06:

Yeah, you still have a minus one, but it's a straight throw now.

SPEAKER_02:

Still have minus one. Oh, I gotta refix that. Oh, fuck stick. The first one's a ten.

SPEAKER_06:

Okay.

SPEAKER_07:

Uh yeah, actually, uh nines could tell you not only that you should not put tomatoes in a fruit salad, uh, but you'll also be able to describe the difference um in various sorts of fruit salads. He just doesn't know when to s serve any of them. He doesn't understand why. Like what's what's so fucking great about fruit salad? It's just rather radis. Radish salad. Yeah, radishes on the other hand.

SPEAKER_06:

Alright. Uh who rolled above a eleven? Eleven or above?

SPEAKER_07:

Nines did.

SPEAKER_06:

Okay. Uh, so Sam, you are gonna take another rage point.

SPEAKER_04:

Um not his rage points.

SPEAKER_06:

Correct. Yeah, these are separate points that we're keeping track for this plane. So that is two rage points for Sam, one for Monty at the moment.

SPEAKER_01:

Oh, I t where did I take one from?

SPEAKER_06:

From the failure the failure from the first one.

SPEAKER_01:

Okay.

SPEAKER_06:

Yeah. You don't you don't notice any additional effects at the moment.

SPEAKER_02:

I kicked her at this plane.

SPEAKER_06:

Just at the plane itself. Alright. Please continue your discussion of the ritual.

SPEAKER_07:

Uh well is is that the immediately noticeable effect is this clawing at our at our minds again and the increase of the rage? Is there the it and so now it's up to us to be like, whoa, hang on a minute.

SPEAKER_06:

Uh I so I'll I'll tell you, the the actual gameplay we're doing, not side conversations, I'm pausing it, but the actual gameplay we're doing, I have a timer going, and every time that timer hits a certain time, that's when you guys have to do the con the wisdom save.

SPEAKER_03:

Oof.

SPEAKER_06:

So it just happened to hit while you were discussing the shrine.

SPEAKER_07:

Okay, so do is there any do we is it seems like we have a very good reason to go faster, and is there any indication that we should be going faster? Because now I as a player know that, but my character has no inclination.

SPEAKER_06:

Nines does not. Um Sam has not shown any outward effects yet. Sam and Monty have both seen or felt some rage in them, but it it's nothing though it is a slightly abnormal, it might just be the atmosphere. None of you have seen outward effects at the moment. We were given and we were giving her a little bit of crap about picking the red portal.

SPEAKER_04:

Yes.

SPEAKER_07:

There's a mechanical reason for us to go faster, but we don't have like in-game reasons for our characters to want to go faster.

SPEAKER_04:

Correct. Yeah, nothing nothing is characterized at the moment. To do anything normal, anything outside of what we would normally do, which is take our sweet time.

SPEAKER_07:

Take our sweet fucking time, exactly.

SPEAKER_06:

And and to be clear, even while we're having this conversation, I have paused the timer. So I don't have it running at all times, only while we're doing actual gameplay.

SPEAKER_04:

So Glenn will turn and look at um nines and ask, what was the purpose of the ritual again now that we've performed it?

SPEAKER_07:

Uh and and nines will explain that it just looked like that's what it was looking for. It just felt like I was just explaining like what this ritual does. I I had no opinions about whether or not somebody should somebody should give their fucking blood up, which is crazy, by the way. Everyone knows that. You keep 100% of your blood, your body does not make more.

SPEAKER_04:

So we fed the big scary hole in the big scary kit.

SPEAKER_07:

Nines doesn't know. He had a bad education.

SPEAKER_04:

And uh okay. So maybe we should carry on. So Eric Erid. So to be very clear.

SPEAKER_06:

What Nines saw uh what Nine saw in the glyphs and everything, and what he explained to you all is uh this ritual requires a sacrifice to appease the rage within you. And that can be uh through a blood sacrifice. Yes, and so a confession of rage or giving the base an energy, which equates to a level two spell slaughter higher.

SPEAKER_07:

And having experienced greater uh than normal, like a little bit of a natural rage, maybe, Sam uh sacrificed some of her blood and reduced that effect mechanically. Correct. Okay.

SPEAKER_06:

But still failed. Still did fail. But now it's not a disadvantage. It's instead at minus two. No, just minus two.

SPEAKER_07:

So we we gotta either I I assume we gotta find more of these altars to to help keep our rage down, uh, but we gotta pay a price. Fourteen hit points, by the way. That's fifteen. Oh, uh fifteen hit points. So that's like a fifth of your it's like a letting out a liter of blood.

SPEAKER_06:

For Sam, it's nothing. Nothing to me. Alright.

SPEAKER_07:

So Glenn will start for a normal person, it's like letting out a liter of it's it's it's a blood donation, and you don't get a cookie.

SPEAKER_04:

Um, so Glenn will walk towards the front door and investigate to see if he can find any traps or anything. Okay.

SPEAKER_01:

Uh Monty will follow Glenn over there.

SPEAKER_06:

Alright, nobody else wants to do the ritual, to be clear.

SPEAKER_07:

Seems like I don't feel any any level of rage to give up.

SPEAKER_04:

And even if Glenn felt rage, I don't know that he'd recognize it.

SPEAKER_02:

I've seen what you do too.

SPEAKER_04:

I'm sorry.

SPEAKER_02:

I said I've seen what you do to doors. Yep. I we I was thinking the same thing.

SPEAKER_04:

But uh it's his his emotional scale is random at best. So if he got really mad for no apparent reason, he probably wouldn't recognize it as abnormal.

SPEAKER_06:

So to RP. Okay. Uh so um sorry, did you have something to say, Sam?

SPEAKER_02:

Uh I was just gonna rationalize what Sam did. She, you know, she swore to Morris she'd take care of him. She's already ups upset. Uh she felt like she made a bad choice about the red portal, and then uh she was already mad because of the area, and so she's like, I just want to take care of this so we can move on, take care of the party. Somebody needs to make a sacrifice, it might as well be me. Let's get fucking going. Squirt squirt blood.

SPEAKER_06:

Squirt squirt blood. Okay. Um, yeah, that's great.

SPEAKER_07:

Squirt, squirt.

SPEAKER_06:

You know what? For that, uh Sam, you get some inspiration.

SPEAKER_07:

That's so gross. I'm inspired to hate that.

SPEAKER_06:

Alright, so Bill, roll me procession.

SPEAKER_02:

Hi, Rail. Bill gets possession? Bill's perception?

SPEAKER_06:

Yes. Bill is checking the traps. 17. Or sorry, Glenn. Uh yeah, Glenn, you don't notice any traps here. Uh, like I said before, it looks like the iron doors have been used and even broken down partially as the one door is hanging off its hinge. Looks like you can get inside pretty easily. Anything that would have been trapped has been triggered already, um, because it's been worn before.

unknown:

Okay.

SPEAKER_04:

Um, so does Glenn see anything inside of the building?

SPEAKER_06:

Um yeah, so beyond the iron doors, you see uh a broken hall beyond you. Uh there's it it looks like this temple, even though it was a place of worship at one point, it's been swallowed by corruption. There's an enormous stone columns that are covered in these red crystals. Um the floor is cracked and uneven. It's as if the ground itself is uh infected, uh, and it's it's even glowing a a dull red color. And it's that same sickly pulse and beat that you're feeling in the earth. And uh as you're looking inside, you can feel a pressure inside your ears. It feels like this this heartbeat is is is just beating inside your head, and it's matching, and it's pounding in your ears. Uh you can see tattered banners uh hanging limply from the high rafters. Uh their colors have been long drained, uh, and now they're just like this this dull gray color. Their sigils are pretty unrecognizable beyond uh beyond just the shapes themselves. The air feels the air that you can feel coming out of the temple itself is heavy. It's wrong. It's as if you're you're breathing rage itself, and every breath that you take inside the temple, uh, or from the temple, seems to sharpen your emotions. You can feel irritation bubbling up in your chest and uh suspicion gnaws at the edges of your thoughts.

SPEAKER_01:

Oh, the uh the choices of places to go, does does Monty think this is the best? What other choices do we have? Because I would not want to go in a place like that, but I don't know what our other options are in front of us.

SPEAKER_04:

So first off, um is this a temple to Aerethnol, or is this something that was taken over by Arithnal?

SPEAKER_06:

Uh, based off the symbol above, you can uh pretty you can uh you can reasonably assume that this is a temple to Arethnol.

SPEAKER_04:

Okay, so this is originally to a rage god. Yes. So, um so Glenn will turn and look at the group and say sometimes we're pretty stupid. We probably should have asked that goddess what we need to do here. So somebody try to remember that next time. And uh Glenn kinda just shakes his head and well, there's nothing else we can do, and walks into the temple.

SPEAKER_02:

Then kicks more dirt at the circle and then goes in after Glenn.

SPEAKER_01:

Do we does does Monty see any other options of places to go, or this kind of looks like it?

SPEAKER_06:

There is a canyon stretching uh far beyond this temple. Uh you can walk that direction if you'd like. You don't see any shapes or any anything uh beyond no structures, but uh it is an option if you would like to go that direction.

SPEAKER_01:

Ah, Monty will just walk in the temple.

SPEAKER_07:

Yeah, ignoring the uh oppressive air of anger, uh nines is gonna march ahead.

SPEAKER_06:

Yeah, so what I imagine with this like oppressive air, uh when you were kids, you ever see your parents argue and you just feel that tension in the air when they're arguing?

SPEAKER_07:

Like, I hate existing right now, and like I just want uh fast forward, skip.

SPEAKER_06:

Exactly. That's that's what what I kind of feel like when I'm describing this. Like you see your parents arguing, or maybe two close friends of yours arguing when you're around them, and you're just like, ah, I hate all this. I wish I wasn't here right now. Uh that just that uncomfortableness.

SPEAKER_01:

Sounds like a horrible childhood experience to have. Uh mine definitely wasn't like that. I I didn't have parents.

SPEAKER_06:

Oh my god. Oh, because Monty's an orphan.

SPEAKER_07:

Uh Monty is, yeah. It was immaculately concepted through the oppressive air virginity.

SPEAKER_06:

So, as you step into the temple, you can see that the uh the the path uh goes forward through this and at the very end of the hall itself, you can see a staircase leading deeper into the corridors. Uh uh the and and you start to hear a low it almost sounds like breathing in your ears. It's not the it's not the it's not a creature, it's not something that sh is around you. It feels like the temple itself is breathing.

SPEAKER_04:

So Glenn will misinterpret that. Okay. And he will he'll he'll turn and look at Nines and say, God, close your mouth when you breathe. We're trying to sneak in here.

SPEAKER_07:

Uh Nines will uh stop doing the reflexive uh boxed breathing that he does all the time, where he breathes in and out through various holes in his face.

SPEAKER_06:

Okay. Uh Sam.

SPEAKER_02:

Uh yeah. Sam pulls her axe and uh strides forward into this this temple. So how I think you talked about like the feeling we get. What do we see as we walk into it?

SPEAKER_06:

Yeah, so you see a long hall with a staircase at the end, there's red crystals protruding out of various uh sections of the wall.

SPEAKER_02:

The stairs go up or down.

SPEAKER_06:

Stairs go down, they are descending into the temple.

SPEAKER_02:

We're in the bottom of the valley. I don't know, they could go up, you know.

SPEAKER_06:

Yeah, no, that's that's a fair question. And uh you don't see anything directly in front of you, but you you do hear that that sound, that that breathing that I described before.

SPEAKER_02:

I'm still trying to visualize it. I was thinking more like uh like Gothic or like old Catholic Church or like just old stone like uh Western castles.

SPEAKER_06:

Um yes, Gothic, but red stone instead of black and gray.

SPEAKER_07:

Yeah, I was imagining the jungle biome from Terraria, if anybody knows what the fuck I'm talking about.

SPEAKER_05:

I do, I played Terraria a bit.

SPEAKER_07:

Uh, but also kind of the uh like an Indiana Jones temple feel. When you say temple, I think Indiana Jones. That's fair.

SPEAKER_02:

I was there, but the dryness kind of pulls me. I know like one of them he's in like under the sand in the desert looking for the buttons. I still think like vines and moss. When I think like Indiana Jones, I think jungle stuff.

SPEAKER_07:

Well that was that was the first it makes sense.

SPEAKER_06:

Really have um so where it was dry outside, uh there's definitely a moisture in here, but and you you can taste it in your mouth. It it tastes like old dried blood. Every time you breathe, it's this moisture of just blood hitting your mouth.

SPEAKER_01:

Copper.

SPEAKER_06:

Yeah. That that that that deep copper taste.

SPEAKER_02:

Yuck. Sam uh proceeds forward. Is there any other path in here besides those stairs that go down at the end of this hallway?

SPEAKER_06:

Uh none that you can see at the moment, though the crystals are taking up a good bit.

SPEAKER_02:

Yeah, Sam will proceed. Go ahead. Uh Sam will proceed. She's very wary of any of the crystals. On the ground or on the walls, a good uh strides right in. Okay. Angrily.

SPEAKER_01:

Uh Monty will uh as well, like he's he's very uneasy about this place, but he's gonna continue to move forward and be very cautious not to touch any of those crystals. Okay.

SPEAKER_07:

Uh does Nines Nines knows about the crystals, right? Yes. And so we're we're all we kind of agree, like, even without knowing shit about the crystals. We don't touch the crystals. We we st we step around them, sort of okay. And so he's not gonna like blithely walk along and trace his uh hands along the edges of the crystals or anything, right?

SPEAKER_06:

Yeah, no. Uh Nines knows about them. He's been around these uh Sam, Glenn, and Monty for probably about a week now. But uh God game time. Holy shit. Probably about a week now, and you It's been eighty-five years!

SPEAKER_04:

It's been a few weeks because we traveled on the water. That's true.

SPEAKER_07:

It was a lake where you could see where you were going.

SPEAKER_04:

No, we traveled.

SPEAKER_07:

It was a three-day voyage.

SPEAKER_04:

We traveled from the port to it was like a a week-long voyage.

SPEAKER_02:

You were you missed one of the episodes.

SPEAKER_07:

Oh, that's right. Yeah. Yeah. Uh was I aroused during this? Probably.

SPEAKER_02:

Yeah, and your fingers got inside you. I don't know if remember how did my fingers.

SPEAKER_06:

Alright. So, um as you're walking forward. Go ahead.

SPEAKER_04:

Sorry, I was reading um reading Brandon's notes, and Glenn attempts to talk to the voice in his hat question mark? Arnold? I mean, that's fair.

SPEAKER_07:

Yeah, I didn't hear what you said, I guess, and I don't know.

SPEAKER_04:

No, no, that was that's accurate.

SPEAKER_07:

Oh no. That's worse.

SPEAKER_06:

Yeah, that is.

SPEAKER_07:

I don't know what the fuck's going on half the time.

SPEAKER_02:

It's a magic hat named Arnold?

SPEAKER_06:

Yeah, but he's shy. He only talks to Bill or Glenn when nobody's around him.

SPEAKER_07:

Yeah, this is the reason that I'm playing a stupid character, is so I can mask all this shit.

SPEAKER_06:

Alright. So as you're walking forward in this this hall, um, the rocks are it it looks like part of the temple is crumbled. There's there's fallen roof and wall all around you. Ruins. Um there's red crystals growing up all or growing all over uh the walls and the floor. And as you're walking, the air seems to shift. The the crystals that pulse, that heartbeat that you were feeling before, it quickens. And from the mist ahead of you, uh you see a figure stumble onto the path. And at first glance, it looks like it's a man, maybe a traveler, maybe a soldier or a priest. Um but now he's looking at you and you can feel the rage inside of him, and he's suffering. He's uh very obviously suffering. Crimson crystals sprout from his flesh like t like almost like tumors. Um it's piercing through his clothing, his armor, his skin. Uh his skin is very pale, almost translucent, and it's stretched tight over over his frame. It looks like he's starving. Um one of his eyes is completely missing because of a a red crystal is growing out of his right socket, right eye socket, and it's glowing faintly. As he as he notices all of you approaching, his mouth opens, and it's a silent scr a silent scream. Almost as if it's a silent scream, and he's frozen uh mid-howl as he's staring at you. Each movement of this creature, uh it's it's very grotesque. It's like he's shuddering, kind of shambling along, and it's as it's as if his muscles are trying to resist this unnatural uh that's the word I'm looking for, uh like uh puppeteering that's happening to his body.

SPEAKER_04:

So like is a ring a ring type motion? Is that what you I'm sorry, I interrupted you.

SPEAKER_06:

Almost, yeah, like a ring type motion. And as he's staring at you, he raises one hand towards you, and you can't really tell if it's a warning or a pleading. Um and you can feel as he's as he's staring at you and pointing at you, a low growl rumbles from his d from his chest, and it's a deep sound. And there's no words that permeate from his mouth. It just just um I do need you all, as you're staring at this creature, a that rage starts itching at your mind again. Needs you all to make me another wisdom saving throw.

SPEAKER_02:

Uh was that advantage a single advantage, or all all of the rest of the rolls here?

SPEAKER_06:

All the rest of your roles are not at it at disadvantage. They're normal rolls.

SPEAKER_02:

Normal rolls, yeah. Okay.

SPEAKER_06:

Nope.

SPEAKER_07:

Uh nine's belly laughs with a natural twenty.

SPEAKER_02:

Damn! 17 for Sam this time.

SPEAKER_07:

My other advantage roll was a 19. I think I had a lot of. Money got eight.

SPEAKER_02:

Okay.

SPEAKER_06:

Glenn got six. Okay. Uh Glen, this is something that you're not used to feeling. Uh you miss your friend Morse. It's been it's been so long since you've seen him. You know, days since you've seen Morse. And you're used to traveling with your companion, your friend, and you've never felt a closeness to another individual before until you met Moores. Uh, and you you feel an anger towards the gods for taking him away from you. Uh for the rest of this plane, you are going to have a minus one to wisdom saving throws. Monty, that same rage takes you over. Uh, you are going to take an additional rage point, so that puts you at two rage points.

SPEAKER_05:

Okay.

SPEAKER_06:

Nines! Nothing's bothering you, buddy. And Sam, for the first time, you're able to push back this rage, this itch from your mind. And uh you're able to find a a calm, a center. Maybe it's looking at nines, uh, as he joyfully looks at this creature staring at you all. Maybe it's remembering your friends that you're supposed to be protecting. Uh you're not really sure, but you know that you you're able to push the rage from your mind.

SPEAKER_02:

Can uh can I read the intent of this uh crystallized dude? Is he uh you mentioned that we couldn't tell if he's like upset or he seems distressed at least. Is he like looking to attack us? Do I need to charge this motherfucker?

SPEAKER_04:

Yeah, give me an insight roll.

SPEAKER_02:

Excellent.

SPEAKER_04:

Because barbarians are notoriously good at that. Yep.

SPEAKER_02:

Uh that's a two for a total. Yep.

SPEAKER_06:

Uh, based off what you're seeing, uh the individual in front of you is not directly attacking you, but his movements are threatening.

SPEAKER_02:

Uh I will uh swirl my axe around in a uh articulate and threatening manner, and then close half the distance.

SPEAKER_06:

Alright. So if you all could join the map session. Go ahead, Glenn. How far away is this guy? He is Oh, never mind. Sixty-five feet away from you. How many? Sixty-five. Six five.

SPEAKER_04:

Jesus friggin' Christ. Okay.

SPEAKER_02:

Is this the play button map? Yes. I found it.

SPEAKER_07:

Can we do pee pee's?

SPEAKER_06:

Yeah, go for it. I added Morse, I didn't mean to. I'm gonna delete Morse. Well, I'm gonna go.

SPEAKER_02:

You already deleted Morse. Just keep he's in our hearts. Ah, you motherfucker. I can summon him.

SPEAKER_04:

It's just so frustrating. Let's start the let's start the fight where the melee characters have to wait three rounds before they get to do anything.

SPEAKER_02:

Three rounds?

SPEAKER_04:

Dude, you're in a long hallway, like.

SPEAKER_02:

I can get there in one round. You can't get there in one round?

SPEAKER_04:

I can't get there in one round, and they just stand in front of him.

SPEAKER_02:

Don't you get bonus action as a uh don't you get dash as a bonus action as a rogue?

SPEAKER_04:

Yeah, that's how I can get there in one round.

SPEAKER_02:

And then action s stab slash?

SPEAKER_04:

Yeah. Movement action.

SPEAKER_02:

Movement bonus action to dash. And then boom.

SPEAKER_04:

So I have 30 feet, so.

SPEAKER_02:

Sixty feet, five feet's pretty dang close, or just don't roll good on initiative. Let the bad guy go first.

SPEAKER_04:

But all of you guys are gonna close with him, so he's not gonna move.

SPEAKER_02:

I have a plus one to initiative. I am not going first. Also, I will throw things at this bad boy.

SPEAKER_04:

I'm pretty sure Nines has a pretty good initiative roll. Why did I open Nines has a plus six?

SPEAKER_06:

Only plus six. Monty has a plus four.

SPEAKER_02:

I do have an advantage, but it's only plus one.

SPEAKER_06:

Glenn, you have the highest at plus nine.

SPEAKER_02:

Yeah. I think the way advantage works, it's like effectively a plus two on top of what you had, I think numerically.

SPEAKER_03:

Yeah.

SPEAKER_02:

I'd have to read the math again, but I think that's what it about what it comes out to. Turns a twelve into a fourteen or something. Oh, it raises the action.

SPEAKER_04:

The mathematical chance effect.

SPEAKER_02:

Yeah, yeah. We did not rule initiative yet, right? Just making sure I didn't. Alright, I have returned.

SPEAKER_06:

Nice, just waiting for Matty. I'll actually go and fill my whiskey as well.

SPEAKER_07:

Well, maybe I should get a whiskey.

SPEAKER_02:

You schlubs, just keep the whiskey within the arm reach, you don't have to get up.

SPEAKER_04:

Yeah?

SPEAKER_02:

Oh, you know what though? My box of wine is downstairs. It usually sits right here. It's almost wine season again, boys.

SPEAKER_04:

So I guess I can move sixty feet. Nope, because that's a bonus action. Never mind.

SPEAKER_02:

Yeah, but don't that's a that's your you get uh for free, don't don't you?

SPEAKER_04:

No no, what I was gonna say is I can close sixty feet and then use a bonus action, but I've already used the bonus action. Oh yeah. Because I can I can pull 'em to me, but no. It's just frustrating because the ranged characters get to do 17 roll 17 things. And I'm being sarc I'm being melodramatic.

SPEAKER_02:

There's only one of those though. The one the one range character. Who is specifically a long range dude? Yeah. Yeah. This is only 10% of his range, I think. Isn't he like 600 feet or something with this longbow? Something crazy.

SPEAKER_01:

Insane, yeah. It's like 350, yeah.

SPEAKER_02:

No, it's 600 to get uh your your maximum ranges. It's 150 six.

SPEAKER_07:

Yeah, with like a disadvantage roll.

SPEAKER_01:

Oh, it is six hundred, yeah. Yeah, I think I take no no disadvantage. No, I take I take no disadvantage until after 600.

SPEAKER_02:

After 600. I think you've only got to use that once, though. I think that was by going into that shark temple or whatever.

SPEAKER_04:

Yeah. I've noticed he's never even used his bow in the podcast.

SPEAKER_07:

It's gonna be it would be like the the animated uh Robin Hood with the the animals. Yeah. You just you point your bow. Like you have to uh account for the Coriolis effect with a bow, you're shooting too goddamn far.

SPEAKER_04:

Yeah. Brandon is frozen.

SPEAKER_07:

And for me, yeah.

SPEAKER_04:

Okay. Not you, the other Brandon.

SPEAKER_07:

Wait, me? Oh yeah, that Brandon is frozen. I don't know. Is it my just my camera? Do I look do I look cool? Am I making a real cool, like uh sexy face?

SPEAKER_04:

As cool as you look.

SPEAKER_07:

Alright, alright.

SPEAKER_04:

No, you d at least don't have the weird in the middle of saying something face.

SPEAKER_02:

Almost responded to that. You almost got me, Maddie. That was really well timed though. I'll give you that. That was a fit situation.

SPEAKER_04:

Oh, failed to start camera.

SPEAKER_02:

Wonky.

SPEAKER_04:

That's what I should do. Glenn should just always use his shortbone now.

SPEAKER_02:

Yeah, I mean, don't lean into the items we have.

SPEAKER_04:

Glenn Glenn takes off his cloak of invisibility, folds it neatly, and sets it on the ground and walks away. Hands it to Sam. You want this?

SPEAKER_06:

The legendary item that he got. Yo, an invisible barbarian sounds terrifying.

SPEAKER_02:

I would drop my cloak of protection for a cloak of invisibility. I tell you what. Look how bad guys. They will not like that first attack. Why is the air screaming at me? Oh my gosh, that's an axe.

SPEAKER_04:

You don't You don't break invisible, you just stay invisible, right? Mm-hmm.

SPEAKER_02:

They would really not like that then. I don't even need reckless attack anymore, just fucking chop chop. You want a cloak of a protection? Because I'll trade you.

SPEAKER_06:

The only downside to that is like he's gotta use an action to activate it. That's the only downside of it.

SPEAKER_02:

Meh. Easy. I'll do that outside of combat. Like, oh, what are the three of you up today? Three of you? Oh yeah. Still a bit. Yeah, he mentioned having trouble with his camera earlier.

SPEAKER_04:

Um it does. It's kinda silly. Like, how it takes me six seconds to reach behind my head and pull the hood. Because the action is pull the hood over your head.

SPEAKER_02:

It doesn't take all it doesn't take all six sections. Remember that six sections six seconds includes your movement, your action, and your bonus actions. Like two seconds, and it's gotta be just so to cover all your bits and pieces. Gotta probably button down the front, right? Yeah. I think it's not unreasonable for the benefit you get. You guys there's uh a few people on the social medias that do uh like D D in real life for perspective to try to like consider how crazy you are. It's like shooting a bow three times accurately in six seconds, not even including moving, is pretty fucking wild.

SPEAKER_00:

Yeah, yeah.

SPEAKER_02:

Let alone running what uh nines runs fifty-five feet? Fifty-five feet in six seconds from my dead stop? No, thank you. I'm not gonna do that. I'm too old for that shit. And then nines, uh even worse, right? So if you run 55 feet, and then he gets, I think, two two basic attacks, and then Flurria blows is three more attacks on top of it. I mean if you ever hit just the punching bed.

SPEAKER_04:

Right? Average movement speed is thirty. So that's twenty miles an hour. You can walk twenty miles an hour and perform two actions. And if you're a warrior, you can attack somebody like five times.

SPEAKER_02:

Or dude action surge, you get six attacks in one round. Haha stupid.

SPEAKER_01:

Who gets action surge?

SPEAKER_06:

Warriors, fighters get yeah, fighters are kind of nasty. Actually, I've seen some really cool fighter or ranger combos for multi- uh classing. That's disgusting.

SPEAKER_04:

So, I mean, even a rogue, which I mean a rogue, if he decides to, if he decides to leave, he's gonna run at a sustained 60 miles an hour. Yeah. Welcome back, Brandon.

SPEAKER_07:

Thank you. I'm sorry about that. I've been having some computer difficulties. I think it's just that it like speaking of things that enrage us, uh this is this is doing it. I'm I'm failing my fucking wisdom saving throws. Brandon, you not, get a rage point.

SPEAKER_03:

Feel it.

SPEAKER_02:

Uh Sam. I had a addendum to what Bill said. So if you're moving 30 feet in six seconds, you're moving five feet per second, is only about three and a half miles per hour, which is reasonable.

SPEAKER_04:

That's about what Oh, okay. Sorry.

SPEAKER_02:

Thirty feet in one second.

SPEAKER_04:

I divided by I forgot to divide by six.

SPEAKER_06:

That it's six seconds. So uh so initiative is not rolled. Um the four of you are staring at this individual about sixty-five feet away from you. What would you all like to do?

SPEAKER_04:

Is are we not in initiative? No. Pull a cloak over my head. Actually, just the hood, not the whole cloak. Sure.

SPEAKER_02:

Sam brandishes her axe menacingly and closes half the distance.

SPEAKER_04:

Okay.

SPEAKER_02:

And let's out a rageful again.

SPEAKER_01:

The creature we see on the map is is the person.

SPEAKER_06:

Yes.

SPEAKER_07:

So, uh, while Sam is uh threateningly marching forward in this uh kind of crystalline valley with a paved path through it. This is inside the temple, or are we still Yeah? This is inside the temple. Alright. Uh yeah, Nines is going to try to uh hold her back a little bit, like arm arm in front of her. I mean, I guess how tall is Sam? I'm wondering, like, where does the arm go in accordance with her body? Uh yeah, no. I mean like the difference between putting an arm seat belt around a child in the passenger seat and like trying to stop a giant with one hand.

SPEAKER_02:

Yeah. Six and a half feet, not too crazy.

SPEAKER_07:

Okay. Still still definitely taller. Um she's a big girl. And so uh Nines is trying to get ahead of Sam and is saying, Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, there, uh big fella. Uh hey there. I uh I'm sorry she looks a little intimidating, but she means well, uh are you a bad guy or a good guy? Uh talking obviously to this uh puppeteered looking ghoulish figure. Yep.

SPEAKER_04:

Uh I'm sorry. So as Glenn is ta as he's pulling the hood over his head, he's taking a step forward and then he disappears.

unknown:

Okay.

SPEAKER_06:

Uh in response to you, nines, uh, this individual with red crystals poking out of his skin everywhere, just looks at you and he has this deep groan coming out from his chest.

SPEAKER_03:

Mmm.

SPEAKER_06:

And he takes a step towards you.

SPEAKER_02:

I feel like Sam's speaking his roll groans.

SPEAKER_07:

Yeah, Nines Nines looks to Sam, like, can can you understand him? I think you guys are speaking the same language.

SPEAKER_02:

Sam's half orc, right? I I uh respond by kicking dirt at No, I won't do that this time, but I will I'll like just give you side eyes. I don't break I'd keep keep my eyes on this uh red crystal mannequin boy.

SPEAKER_07:

You concentrate on one eye turning your m turning your eye muscles to look at me at the same time?

SPEAKER_02:

Yeah, I split my eye in half. I li I lift it with one eye and like I briefly lift the iPad so you can see I'm cross-eyed looking at No, I don't do that. I don't answer you.

unknown:

Okay.

SPEAKER_02:

I guess I would answer you probably. Uh

SPEAKER_01:

Monte is just kind of preparing an attack. He's gonna be kinda hiding behind a rock and drawing his bow, but he's holding his bow down toward he's not looking like he's trying to provoke.

SPEAKER_07:

So hiding the fact that he's ready to I'm imagining nines being dragged along, uh gripping one of Sam's prodigious wrists with both of his hands and digging his heels in, but still being dragged forward uh by Sam uh all the while saying stuff like No way, we don't know if he's an enemy, maybe he's friendly, like uh he's uh You know, trying trying to make excuses, like he We don't kick everyone in the face, right? You taught me that, I think. Maybe that was somebody else.

SPEAKER_02:

You can get an ass get punched in the face. It might be this guy's turn.

SPEAKER_07:

Being dragged behind trying to stop Sam from violence. Just this one. Just for a second, Sam. Maybe there's a good reason for violence. We just don't know it yet.

SPEAKER_02:

Sam stops about ten feet away with uh nines trailing off of the uh no idea where Glenn went. He's totally invisible. Still making like just keeping focus on this this red bad boy.

SPEAKER_06:

A human underneath all that crystal? He is a human, yes. Yeah, so this uh this individual keeps walking towards you, Sam. And he is now within immeley range.

SPEAKER_02:

Oh, you're approaching me. Does human make any moves on me?

SPEAKER_06:

Uh he is just kind of immeley range, he's not attacking yet.

SPEAKER_02:

I'm gonna keep him uh uh within axe reach, but I'm gonna kinda circle him and then we'll have to maneuver our way around him to the stairs without him making a move. So like just like shimming around him.

SPEAKER_06:

No, he turns to face you, and as you circle around him, he raises his hand. I need all of you to roll into initiative.

SPEAKER_07:

This is gonna be violence is the answer.

SPEAKER_04:

I get advantage on initiative.

SPEAKER_02:

Me too.

SPEAKER_07:

I just really want to pretty much advantage on initiative.

SPEAKER_02:

Oh 29. 16%.

SPEAKER_07:

And nine's got a fourteen.

SPEAKER_02:

You mentioned that uh this human raises their hands. Can you explain more like uh the body position?

SPEAKER_06:

Yeah, he raises hand above his head and a large claw, and you can see on the pal on his palm that he's got red crystals on it, like jutting out from his palm, and he looks like he's uh reaching to slap at you. Alright. So um Is this a strong hand? This is a strong hand, yeah. So it is a strong hand. Uh yeah, you guys hear them before you see them. Uh you can hear the frantic scrape of bare feet and blades against stone and crystal, uh, breathless grunts of the creatures too far gone for any kind of reason. And then out of various rocks and crystals, crystal areas, these creatures start stumbling toward. Maybe a former dwarf, maybe a former elf, uh, but all of their eyes are wide and glassy. Uh, you can see tears of blood streaking down their cheeks as they twitch and spasm. Some mutter incoherent curses under their breaths, others scream wordless rage into the air, but every movement is wild and erratic, driven by pure violent instinct. And they all seem to throw themselves at you. Without hesitation, their blades are flashing, and they all start charging you at once. Were they like invisible before? Uh they were just laying down vine crystals or rocks, yeah. Okay. Hummer. Alright, Glenn, you're up.

SPEAKER_04:

Alright, Glenn will take a step towards Errant Quill while maintaining invisibility, and you hear a whispered ektor, and then a Kaboo as he attacks with his rapier.

SPEAKER_06:

30? That does hit.

SPEAKER_04:

Well, that's good. Um, so 30 49 points of damage. Jesus.

SPEAKER_07:

Jesus is right, what the fuck?

SPEAKER_06:

Yeah. Alright. Describe how you kill Aaron's Quinn.

SPEAKER_04:

Um, so you see, um, out of a kind of a ghostly blade up here, and as you s as he as the blade pushes forward around the blade, you see kind of a thundery force, and the blade just straight up goes right into the back of his head and comes out the front of his head, blasting through his entire crippled or his uh weakened uh skull because of the the structural damage done to the bone from the crystals, and you just see it blast through his head, and then it all disappears. Like the sword disappears, and Glenn just kind of fades back into the ground. You see him quietly move away and head towards Tommy Master or Master Blaster. Mage blaster, sorry.

SPEAKER_06:

Tommy Mage Blaster. Wait, what the book? Yeah, that was for you, Brennan. I put him in your name. Thank you. Tommy Mage Blaster was the character I played during uh Brandon's drawsteal shot, one shot yesterday. Alright, so Glenn, as you stab this individual when he falls to the ground, you hear him start to laugh uncontrollably. And this pulse erupts from his chest. I need everybody to give me a DC con save.

SPEAKER_02:

Counterpoint, that's not very ragey. Fair enough. Alright.

SPEAKER_04:

Uh I know how much you like this mechanic though.

SPEAKER_02:

DC what you're doing.

SPEAKER_04:

Yeah, I'm just gonna fucking walk down the path.

SPEAKER_02:

What's the DC for our con save?

SPEAKER_06:

Uh the DC is 15. Alright, I got a 26.

SPEAKER_02:

Money got a 19.

SPEAKER_04:

20. Okay.

SPEAKER_07:

Uh 9. Even though he has a plus seven with only a three, I rolled a 10.

SPEAKER_06:

Okay. So everybody that made the save is gonna take uh seven points of damage. Nines, you're gonna take fourteen points, but you're also gonna add a rage point. And you're gonna have minus one to wisdom saving throws for the rest of this plane. Well.

SPEAKER_07:

How many points of of damage?

SPEAKER_06:

I didn't 14 for you, nine, seven for everybody else. Double.

SPEAKER_07:

Yeah, I think I can only Oh wait. I have tranquility? Does that matter? What is tranquility? Uh so uh tranquility means that at the end of each long rest, which we just took, uh I gain the effect of the uh of a sanctuary spell, meaning that I can't be targeted by attacks until I also attack.

SPEAKER_06:

It's an AoE spell. Yeah, it's an AoE.

SPEAKER_07:

I yeah, and I don't have the uh definition of sanctuary spell in front of me because this just says that I gain that.

SPEAKER_02:

Um sanctuary means that you can't be targeted, so if something tries to target you, it targets the nearest uh of your allies in the range.

SPEAKER_07:

Yeah, uh obviously not damaged, but Yeah, of course. Um and I it is targeted, yep.

SPEAKER_06:

And maybe it was this pulse, maybe it was just getting into combat, but all of you feel this rage start to itch at you once again. Can you all give me a wisdom saving throw? No longer advantage or you do have advantage, but they are at minus one. Still at minus one, okay. Wow. And the wisdom save is fourteen.

SPEAKER_07:

Wait. I rolled a fourteen before you said that.

SPEAKER_06:

Oh, it's fourteen, yeah.

SPEAKER_07:

It's going up each time. And then minus minus one, I got a thirteen that time. No, I'm sorry, buddy.

SPEAKER_01:

Uh Monty rolled a fourteen.

SPEAKER_02:

Okay. Glenn rolled a little bit.

SPEAKER_06:

Uh so Glenn, you got a six, Sam, you got a sixteen, uh, Monty at 14. Is that with your minus one?

SPEAKER_00:

Yeah.

unknown:

Okay.

SPEAKER_06:

And nines, you got a 13. Okay, so uh nines and Glenn. Uh the the battle around you is just deafening. Like, you can feel the rage building within you. These creatures attacking you for no reason. Nines, uh, you know, Master The Lion. Master of the Lion, I apologize, I forgot his name. Master the Lion never prepared you for enemies like this. Enemies of pure rage. Uh Master the Lion always thought you were gonna face creatures of discipline, of uh, of honor, and uh he never prepared you for these types of creatures. And though you feel no rage towards Master of the Lion himself, you feel anger towards these creatures. So I need you you both are gonna add a rage point.

SPEAKER_04:

Am I supposed to be keeping track of these rage points? I don't know what they do.

SPEAKER_06:

I am keeping track of the rage points. Glenn, you have one. Two. Two? This is a second fail.

SPEAKER_02:

I'm keeping track of my notes. Of my own only. Sam's at two.

SPEAKER_07:

Like you said, he's keeping track of your rage points.

SPEAKER_06:

Honestly, I didn't get that other one. I see it here. Yeah. So you have two. My bad. Uh Glenn you have two, Monty you have two, nines, you have two, Sam you have two.

SPEAKER_04:

And the first one is when you gain the negative one to your wisdom, say, right?

SPEAKER_02:

Yes. Oh, fill out concept. Yep. I think it was like AoE blast. 30 feet. Hearing him s just hearing him scrap scream? Yep, 30 feet.

SPEAKER_06:

Okay. Alright, so Tommy Mage Blaster. Bam. Oh, Glenn, are you doing anything else? I'm staying invisible. Got it. Uh Tommy Mage Blaster is gonna run up the stand. It's gonna take a big old opportunity. I'm sorry, what? Attack of opportunity. Attack of opportunity? Yeah, you just passed by me. He ran straight down. He wasn't even within five feet of you. Okay. Uh yeah. Tommy Mage Blaster's gonna take a big old swipe at you. Does a 12 hit you?

SPEAKER_02:

Uh it does not. Can you tell me more about Tommy Mage Blaster?

SPEAKER_06:

Yeah. Tommy Mage Blaster looks like he's almost come back from the dead. He looks resurrected even. Uh, like he's a uh uh a shell of his former self. Looks like a dwarf without hair. Um even his beard is missing. His right arm is bent at a strange awkward angle, uh, and the his a bone from his arm is sticking out of his elbow.

SPEAKER_02:

What the hell, man? A beardless dwarf? What's wrong with you? I know. He's fucking sick.

SPEAKER_07:

He's sick, oh, exactly.

SPEAKER_02:

He does not hit me. Uh Sam was still looking at Quay uh Errant Quill, the exploding dude. Uh just like getting anger and anger at the moment, and like just out of happenstance, it even he comes in on the her blind side with the eye patch and she just like is it a claw attack?

SPEAKER_06:

Like a weapon hand attack? Uh he's so he's stabbing at you with just this blind fury, right? He is uh crystals out of his hands? Uh no, this guy has a dagger.

SPEAKER_02:

He's trying to stab you. I just slap it. As he comes up to me, I'm like fixed then it's just like poof! So mad can't hit me. Okay. Alright.

SPEAKER_06:

Uh Sam, that leaves you.

SPEAKER_02:

Uh step one, rage. Uh I'm gonna give into this rage it's been building within me.

SPEAKER_06:

Uh Sam, that for some reason that like all the rage around you and and the feeling it's temple, it's not gonna consume a rage point from you.

unknown:

Oh, what gives?

SPEAKER_02:

That's so much better. Uh because I only have like five of those. So I know. Uh so as I enter this rage, uh, even inside, the the air around me starts to tingle with electricity. Like arcs and sparks start to go off of Sam's skin as I uh like hold my axe up and start looking at Tommy who just swiped at me. Uh my aura of anger goes into a 10-foot area now, which I don't think I can hit Amalia, which I was hoping to, with my ruler. Oh no, she's outside. She's outside. That's totally fine. That's real bad news for Tommy. I was just gonna give him a whack, but now I don't have to. Uh I'm gonna strike Tommy Mage Blaster with my uh Aura Storm Or Storm Aura C. Uh so he's gonna need to make a uh dexterity saving throw. Uh DC-17.

SPEAKER_06:

Tommy Mage Blaster, deceased skeleton that has come back to life, is very good at dexterity. Oh yeah. That is a one, not one.

SPEAKER_02:

Uh that does not make the DC 17. Oh, okay. Yeah, he should really be embarrassed. For somebody who's good at that. He's unnaturally good.

SPEAKER_01:

He should have done a recap and gotten inspiration.

SPEAKER_02:

Yeah, probably. Uh so as he fails this dexterity saving throw, a uh a bolt of lightning shoots out right from Sam and just zaps him for eight lightning damage. Ooh. Okay. And also because he failed his save, he's not prone.

SPEAKER_05:

Oh shit.

SPEAKER_02:

Yeah, that's the future we're talking about. It's not a big deal. Don't worry about it.

SPEAKER_05:

Okay.

SPEAKER_02:

Um. Cool. I presume he's still alive. Or not read not re dead at least. Yep. Great. Uh I'm gonna just take a big two-handed swing overhead, just chop right down and then for my first attack. Which is uh 17 plus 13 for 30. That does hit. Oh, so I have an advantage. Let me roll it again. Oh yeah. Because he's cause he's not prone. No, I'll take the 30.

SPEAKER_06:

You may get a Nat 20, who knows?

SPEAKER_02:

That's what I was hoping for, you know? Uh so it's a D12 plus eight. So that's uh 13 damage on him.

SPEAKER_06:

Okay.

SPEAKER_02:

13 axe damage? Did he did he make it?

SPEAKER_06:

He's still alive.

SPEAKER_02:

He's still alive. Alright, well, you know what happens. Try try again. Uh he's still prone, so I'm gonna do another advantage attack on him. Uh is uh 16 plus 13 for 29.

SPEAKER_06:

I think that's probably gonna do it. Oh, I'm sorry, that misses actually.

SPEAKER_02:

Oh, damn, he's got a high IC for a prone dude. No, he is. Okay. Uh D12 plus eight. Uh a nine plus eight? Uh so 17 total damage on that second hit?

SPEAKER_06:

Uh tell me how you cleave this prone poor individual in the middle.

SPEAKER_01:

We didn't even know if he's a bad guy.

SPEAKER_02:

The first one all did to is his collarbone and like broke that. The second one comes right down over a sternum and just splits him like sternum, rib cage, spine, just splits him right in half, just splits him open. Cracking a pistachio.

SPEAKER_06:

Yeah, so this individual had less red crystals than him than Aaron Quill did, uh, but he still does release some pulse. So I need everybody to make me a con save. Uh the save is 14.

SPEAKER_02:

Sam got a 15.

SPEAKER_06:

Glenn got off the 14. Okay.

SPEAKER_07:

Ooh, 19 for 9. Nice.

SPEAKER_01:

Monty does not save with an 11.

SPEAKER_06:

Ooh. Alright, so Monty, you are gonna take an additional rage point, but no damage is dealt to anybody.

SPEAKER_02:

Cool.

SPEAKER_04:

Alright.

SPEAKER_06:

So.

SPEAKER_02:

Oh, I'm not done.

SPEAKER_06:

I I understand that. Okay. Okay. So, Monty, uh, you feel this rage building within you. All attacks that you make are made at advantage from now on through the rest of this plane. However, all attacks against you are also made at advantage.

SPEAKER_01:

The monkey's paw. Just gotta kill them before they get to me.

SPEAKER_06:

True. Honestly, for it it's probably best that you've hit this first, right? As a ranged attacker. Yeah. Um go ahead, Sam.

SPEAKER_02:

So I get two attacks per error per turn per attack action. I already use my bonus action. I still gotta move. And I had the great great weapon master feet, which uh the feature that matters now, when I reduce a creature to zero HP, I can make an additional melee weapon attack. Oh, as a bonus action. Damn. I thought I'd just get to chop for free forever. That's fine. I'm gonna go uh run over here to uh Amerigo and just get in his face and scream at him while I rage.

SPEAKER_06:

Okay. Yeah, so you run to the southeast between two rocks, scream at Amerigo, a uh dwarf cutter covered in red crystals. Is the map mirrored? What? I think that's the west. What did I say?

SPEAKER_02:

You said the southeast.

SPEAKER_06:

Oh, sorry. I meant to say southwest.

SPEAKER_02:

Apologize, totally not important. I just couldn't hit myself. No, you're fine.

SPEAKER_05:

Yeah, absolutely. Okay.

SPEAKER_02:

And I will pass the turn.

SPEAKER_05:

You're up.

SPEAKER_07:

You know, up to this point, Master the Lion and all of his classmates were talking about how you have to uh acknowledge the rage, uh, let it wash over you, um ignore the anger, etc. And these are problems that Nines never actually had. He felt like throughout all of his schooling, he was just kind of floating above all of these emotions. But now, now he understands. He has seen Sam in in all of her glorious rage and intellectually knew what she was doing and how and why and and what that meant, but never really felt it. Uh, never really understood it. But now. Now he gets it. He feels the righteous indignation of these enemies standing before him. He understands that they are arranged against him and are trying to prevent him from fulfilling his his calling, even. To travel with these erstwhile companions and defend them to the best of his ability, but now he does it. With a little bit of an edge. Right? Like those he he understands that this isn't sparring. That pulling your punches is not the way. That peace, the tranquility, the turning the other cheek is folly. He sees for the first time what it means to hate. Oh damn. And with that, he charges forward. Like you can see anime style. He sets his feet and the and the earth beneath him like cracks as he as he surges forward. Naruto running straight forward.

SPEAKER_01:

Does he also realize that he hates radishes?

SPEAKER_07:

Hang on now. Let's not get crazy. I'm trying to be I'm trying to do some character development here. Don't make fun of why would you be comedic with nines right now? You know what I mean? That doesn't matter with this. That was a dramatic moment.

SPEAKER_02:

Leave me alone. Sam and Nines are bonding right now. Like Sam is not aware, but this is like a deeper connection.

SPEAKER_07:

Oh yeah. Uh Nines has never understood Sam until this very moment. Uh and he's gonna surge forward against this pretender. This Tommy Mage Blaster. Tommy Mage Blaster is dead. Uh he's gonna surge forward against this. Yeah, there's no indication. I can't pay attention. The red borders are dead.

SPEAKER_06:

They've exploded on us already, all over our faces.

SPEAKER_07:

Uh surge forward.

SPEAKER_06:

Trying to find somebody to fucking hit.

SPEAKER_07:

Both are still alive? Ray behind him with his forward momentum. Uh and he's gonna go over to this uh rightly direction. No idea which cardinal direction that might be.

SPEAKER_05:

Sure.

SPEAKER_07:

Uh because we're in a we're in like a the interior of a building.

SPEAKER_06:

Yep. Yeah, you guys are always heading cardinal north. Oh.

SPEAKER_07:

Well then I'm gonna I'm gonna notably punch this dumb bitch in her stupid face. Her name is real dumb. It's actually Amalia Castellanter. I don't even I don't know what that means. Nines doesn't care.

SPEAKER_02:

That actually translates from Elvish to English to punch me in the face.

SPEAKER_07:

Yeah, uh all all of that is to say that Nines is gonna move three spaces to the right and attack this creature.

SPEAKER_06:

Yeah, you run up to this elf woman who is covered in red crystals, and about as many red crystals as uh the first individual that you saw had, uh, and she's just she's staring at you in a silent scream as you run up to her. Give me an attack roll.

SPEAKER_07:

You know what? Some other time, I might have wondered why she was silently screaming, because most people don't do that. But hey, I'm I'm too far gone. No, I'm telling you. Totally understand. Alright? It's not this isn't me. This isn't nines anymore. This is tens. Fucking extra right now. Okay. Sorry. Uh with a plus two quarter steph, I'm gonna I'm gonna smack this woman with uh a 30 does a 33 hit.

SPEAKER_06:

You guys are knocking into 30s. Yes, I'm gonna do that.

SPEAKER_07:

Oh, I'm trying. No, that was a natural 20.

SPEAKER_06:

Oh shit, was it? Yeah, it's worse. Oh damn. Alright, give me double double damage. Double double dice. Double dice.

SPEAKER_07:

Damage. That's gonna be ooh, 23? Does a 23 hurt?

SPEAKER_06:

A 23 does hurt.

SPEAKER_07:

7 and an 8 plus an eight. Oof. Question.

SPEAKER_02:

Do you have like a tattoo or something? Does some kind of cracking damage?

SPEAKER_07:

There's some lightning damage to. Only for unarmed attacks. Oh, just for my uh bonus attacks. Yep. Which is that's coming up shortly. Um but that's that's still just my first attack. I'm gonna do it again. Uh for a 30.

SPEAKER_06:

That does hit crap. You guys are hitting hard.

SPEAKER_07:

And that one's only gonna do 17 damage. Uh okay.

SPEAKER_06:

She's she's looking rough. She's half on the ground right now.

SPEAKER_07:

Oh. Oh, honey. I'm only halfway there, baby girl. My BBG. Uh, so I'm I'm now gonna uh flurry a blow her. So uh as my bonus action, I'm gonna spend a key point to do two of these bitches. At a plus eleven, does a 19 hit.

SPEAKER_05:

It does hit.

SPEAKER_07:

So that's gonna be 15 damage.

SPEAKER_06:

Tell me how you puncture this woman's skull.

SPEAKER_07:

Oh, I don't. I'm holding a quarter staff, as you'll recall. Oh, sorry. And so the uh the runes, actually. Oof. The runes that I have uh that I got from something probably epic, where now lightning infuses my uh unarmed attacks. You can see uh this glowing streak of light come down my my limb. As I uh roundhouse kick her in the jaw. Damn. And then not only whatever damage I did with that unarmed attack, I did an additional 16 lightning damage. I mean, I don't think it's an additional 16 lightning damage. I think that's a lightning damage attack unarmed. But still, like I rolled well.

SPEAKER_06:

Yeah. Yeah, as your as your foot connects with her chin, you see blood and crystals erupt from her mouth and just spout out to the side. Um, so Glen So that that eruption happens again. Glen and nine, then you need to be able to make me a counts save of 15.

SPEAKER_07:

Does uh does a natural one plus seven equaling eight work? No, it does not.

SPEAKER_04:

So a natural one with a plus three, so a four, that doesn't make it either of us uh.

SPEAKER_07:

You wrote natural one as well? Yeah. Yeah. Okay, their their algorithm is based on time.

SPEAKER_06:

Uh so um you can feel that rage building within you again. You can each either take uh twenty-one points of damage or take a rage point.

SPEAKER_07:

I want more rage.

SPEAKER_06:

More rage it is. Glenn? Yeah, I well, of course I'll take a rage point.

SPEAKER_07:

Yeah, I'm not gonna fight this. It feels right. Alright, so uh my blood is thrumming.

SPEAKER_06:

Yeah, it is. So nines and glenn, both of you just like Monzi, you now have to you now have your attacks at advantage, but any attacks against you are also at advantage.

SPEAKER_07:

Good enough. That's fine. I don't take damage anymore.

SPEAKER_02:

Does that affect saving throws in it?

SPEAKER_06:

It does not affect saving throws except for the minus one wisdom throw. Fine. Um, uh speaking of wisdom throws, that rage started ditching in your mind, I need you all to give me one.

SPEAKER_07:

I got wisdom saving throw at a minus one for uh 17 for now. Jesus Christ.

SPEAKER_02:

Did we already die once this for the combat round? Yes. Isn't this the same six second window?

SPEAKER_06:

Uh time? Time out. Yeah, different timer.

SPEAKER_01:

Okay. One second. This is Brandon wanting us to move faster.

SPEAKER_06:

Oh no, it's necessarily. Not necessarily.

SPEAKER_07:

This is Brandon wanting shit to be fucked. I think that a 10 and 0 makes a hundred.

SPEAKER_06:

That's 14 again, so 14 saves.

SPEAKER_02:

So 100 wins. Mont actually did good this time.

SPEAKER_06:

Who rolled 14 or above?

SPEAKER_02:

I guess I'll just take advantage of all attacks.

SPEAKER_06:

Alright. Glenn and Sammy both get an additional rage point.

SPEAKER_02:

Sam's at three?

SPEAKER_06:

Sam is at three. Glenn is at four. Yep, Glen is at four rage points. Alright. Anything else, Science?

SPEAKER_07:

Uh I d yes. Technically that was only a single attack, and I could use the rest of my movement and uh second attack to put the.

SPEAKER_05:

Well, you did do a flurry of blows, isn't that your bonus action?

SPEAKER_07:

Uh but that's only a single f bonus action um that gives me two.

SPEAKER_06:

That's right.

SPEAKER_07:

Yeah.

SPEAKER_06:

Sorry, I f I temporarily forgot that monks at above a 10 are just stupid.

SPEAKER_07:

They're fucking insane. They just attack, attack, attack, attack, attack. Yep. Uh so I can use the rest of my movement now that I've kicked the fuck out of dumbass Amalia Castellanter. Actually, you can't, yeah.

SPEAKER_06:

Jeez, you have so much movement.

SPEAKER_07:

There's this weird druid character, archdruid, to the south. Southeast. Florida style. There's this little dick hanging out in the southeast. And I'm gonna run up and use my other flurry of blues on him.

SPEAKER_06:

Give it to me.

SPEAKER_07:

Uh, I'm sorry, which which what do you want to get me for for you to be given?

SPEAKER_06:

Give me an attack roll.

SPEAKER_07:

Okay. Just checking. I mean on the off chance. No, no, that's fair.

SPEAKER_06:

Yeah, it's a little bit of a thing.

SPEAKER_07:

A 15 does not hit. His uh his anger has blinded him. And his uh second was that rolled at advantage? Oh shit, I forgot. It weren't already. Already. That was several minutes ago. Okay, there's a 17 hit.

SPEAKER_06:

That does hit.

SPEAKER_07:

God damn. Uh wait, don't take that one. I'm actually gonna do this one instead. Wait, is that different?

SPEAKER_02:

Yes, the d10 plus six. Isn't it additional damage?

SPEAKER_07:

It's not instead of it's in addition. I'm not sure because of the way that I have this set up is it's at a plus 11 with 1d10 plus 6 versus a plus 11 with 1d10 plus 6. And so at an A D10 um no, there's the lightning damage is only an additional plus uh d4. It says right here. Plus 1d4 on on uh on hit. So uh D1. That's nice. That's nice. The the flavor the flavor damage notwithstanding, I'm gonna throw an additional d4 on this. And it's only uh another one, so.

SPEAKER_06:

How much total?

SPEAKER_07:

Uh where's the log?

SPEAKER_02:

I just had a uh You rolled twice, so there was a flaring of blows for twelve people.

SPEAKER_04:

13 or 14? 13. Got it.

SPEAKER_07:

13. 13 damage, thank you. And that concludes my turn. That's everything that I can do.

SPEAKER_06:

Alright, this archdruid that I totally forgot to change the name of. Uh comes in, swipes at U9s, and he's got crystals just coming out of every every finger all through his palms, and he's just trying to try to. Yeah, he's just gonna try to hit you. First roll at advantage. Does a 21 hit. I don't think it does, right? It really doesn't.

SPEAKER_07:

I have 22 armor class right now.

SPEAKER_06:

I was like, that's a good roll. Oh fuck, this is nine.

unknown:

Alright.

SPEAKER_06:

Yeah, so uh this creature is just going to just continuously, just relentlessly start swiping at you. But he doesn't he's not able to penetrate.

SPEAKER_07:

What a piece of shit.

SPEAKER_06:

What a red shit. Yes, fuck to think that he can actually hit me. At advantage. It was at advantage. Yep. You know how I love rules. I do. He's gonna swipe at you. Please swipe. That's a Nat 20, Sam.

SPEAKER_02:

That'll definitely hit.

SPEAKER_03:

Yeah.

SPEAKER_02:

I'm not an AZ tank, I'm an HP tank.

SPEAKER_06:

I know, I know. So, Sam, you are gonna take 16 points of damage, and you're gonna take an additional rage point. It's uh bludgeoning.

SPEAKER_02:

I'm gonna take half that damage.

SPEAKER_06:

Okay, eight points of bludgeoning damage, and an additional rage point.

SPEAKER_02:

Does the rage make me any more resistant to damage?

SPEAKER_06:

It does not.

unknown:

Okay.

SPEAKER_07:

Makes you more vulnerable, presumably.

SPEAKER_02:

Yeah, the way things have gone thus far. So I'm up to four rage points by my notes. Yes. Oh yeah.

SPEAKER_06:

And I still have them are at four rage points. Uh Monty is at three. And Nines is at three.

SPEAKER_02:

And I'm down to 129 HP. Oh. My god. Yeah. Not playing one place.

SPEAKER_06:

Monty, you're up. Oh my god. I need a ranged attacker. Last in shot.

SPEAKER_01:

Ah, there's there's still oh, there's still one person that goes after me. Um alright, so Monty uh sees the one last person that has been attacked. Exilin. Exilin? Axillian? Elixion? Elixion. Owl. We'll call him Al for short. The Al the absolved. Um and he's going to kind of turn and level his bow at him and fire uh using his sharpshooter ability.

SPEAKER_06:

So from that angle, he will have half cover rules. Can you climb on that rock next to him?

SPEAKER_01:

Oh so yeah, he's got the cover, cover doesn't affect me.

SPEAKER_06:

Oh damn. Okay, never mind.

SPEAKER_01:

Yeah. Sorry. Uh but I'll roll that at advantage. Uh 28. Oh, minus five, twenty-three. Twenty-three does hit. Okay. So I'll do uh 1d8 plus 7 and then add 10 to this. So that's 21 plus an additional uh 4 damage. Or sorry, d4. Uh so we're looking at a total of 24 points of damage.

unknown:

Jesus.

SPEAKER_06:

Tell me how you kill Alex and the Absolve.

SPEAKER_01:

Uh just one shot straight in the middle of their face.

SPEAKER_06:

Okay.

SPEAKER_01:

Um no more.

SPEAKER_06:

Alright. Monty, I need you to make me a con save as this red wave bursts over here.

SPEAKER_01:

Man. Just me.

SPEAKER_06:

Just you.

SPEAKER_01:

Uh I saved with a four. You didn't say that. D it's uh two on the dice plus two for a four.

SPEAKER_06:

Alright, so Monty, you're gonna take twelve points of damage.

SPEAKER_01:

Uh wait.

SPEAKER_06:

And you're gonna take an additional rage point.

SPEAKER_01:

I'm embracing the rage. Okay. Uh I think I will turn my attention to the arch druid. That's uh beating on nines. And I'll take one.

SPEAKER_06:

You now have a minus two to all saving throws for the rest of this plane.

SPEAKER_07:

All saving throws. Okay. Also, I take exception to you describing it as this person beating on nines because nines is nines, I guess this person that's being beat on.

SPEAKER_01:

That nines is beating on.

SPEAKER_07:

Like which Okay, you're I I think you would probably kind of wonder which side you should help. Yeah. As bad as I'm beating this guy.

SPEAKER_06:

Monster, I apologize. That was your fourth rage point. At four rage points, uh nothing additional happens. Yeah. Sorry, my bad.

SPEAKER_01:

Thanks, let us know what happens next, though. I I thought Glenn was ahead of me. So I'm now caught up to Glenn.

SPEAKER_06:

Yes, you, Glenn, and Sam are at the same.

SPEAKER_01:

Okay. I will take that uh that minus two to all saving throws here shortly. Don't worry. Uh uh Monty will turn his attention to the archer druid, uh, doing the same thing. Sharpshooter attack with his bow. Uh uh, and I have to roll that at advantage, but uh twenty two.

SPEAKER_06:

Yeah, that hits. You guys are hitting hard.

SPEAKER_01:

And so I'll do Level 14, motherfucker. I'll do the dice is We don't realize. Wait, that's that's bad damage. Uh uh.

SPEAKER_06:

This encounter is just to increase rage points if you guys haven't figured that out yet. Okay. Thanks.

SPEAKER_01:

We haven't figured out anything. We haven't figured out anything. We're still wondering why we're here. Uh 21 points damage total.

SPEAKER_06:

Alright, tell me how you kill the arch druid.

SPEAKER_01:

Um, so he's kind of faced looking at uh nines, and Monty just squares up to his ear hole and uh shoots him straight in the side of the head, so you got the arrow sticking in one side and out the other.

SPEAKER_07:

Yeah, uh Nines is is grabbing him by his his collar sort of thing. And is ready to deliver another blow and uh only stops because he realizes that his opponent's head went limp.

SPEAKER_01:

Now he's pissed at Monty. That's where this rage is going, isn't checking on each other.

SPEAKER_06:

Nines, I need you to make me a con save at 16, and Monty needs you to make me a con save at 14.

SPEAKER_02:

Uh con save. What's the range? I thought you said 30 feet. 30 feet. I think Monty's outside that.

SPEAKER_06:

27 at the range. Where does the range start? I'm going border to border.

SPEAKER_01:

29, yeah.

SPEAKER_06:

Um 29, border to order.

SPEAKER_01:

Nope. Uh he saves with a natural one on the dice.

SPEAKER_07:

Oh, and nine's got a 26 on the save.

SPEAKER_06:

Alright, yeah, 9, you saved. Uh, you are gonna take you're gonna take an additional 8 points of damage, 9s. Uh, but Monty, you're gonna take 16 points of damage, and you're gonna take a rage point.

SPEAKER_01:

Now do I get my minus two to everything?

SPEAKER_06:

Yes, you get minus two to all saving throws.

SPEAKER_01:

Oops. Okay, what's that?

SPEAKER_06:

Alright. Boom boom. And uh Glenn, back up top with you.

SPEAKER_01:

Oh hey, I I still get to move.

SPEAKER_06:

Oh, sorry, Monty, go for it.

SPEAKER_01:

Yeah, I'm gonna I'm gonna move further away from these frickin' dudes.

SPEAKER_06:

Alright, go for it. Yeah.

SPEAKER_01:

Uh there's only one left alive next to me. Yeah. So uh Monty just realizes he keeps getting hit with this stuff, so he's going to run over here and use his bonus action to hide. Okay.

SPEAKER_04:

Great. Now, Glenn, you're up. Alright, so Glenn is going to move here. I think. Here. And then he will take out his shortbow. And put an arrow into air. Whatever. He will position himself more than 30 feet away. More than 30 feet away, but with an angle so that he can shoot past Sam. Okay. Give me an attack roll. Hold on, I gotta find short bow.

SPEAKER_06:

There it is. You've used this a lot. I think this is the first time you've ever used this in the campaign.

SPEAKER_04:

It is. Luckily, I have advantage. And I missed. Ah, so I rolled uh 13 twice. Oh yeah. And it's missed. With a plus ten.

SPEAKER_06:

Yeah, Glenn, though you've had this door bow, it's been used more as an intimidation thing than anything else. And you've never actually fired this towards an enemy. Uh, and so you're just not used to it. And you should wide.

SPEAKER_04:

You should have practiced for it. You shouldn't have practiced. Um so can I drop it and throw a dagger?

SPEAKER_02:

For your offhand attack?

SPEAKER_06:

Yeah, yeah. I'll allow that for an off-hand attack.

SPEAKER_02:

I don't even think you have to drop it. You only have to hold it with one hand.

SPEAKER_04:

Yeah, it's a hand crossbow, right? No, it's a it's a short bow. Uh yeah.

SPEAKER_07:

It's less an offhand attack and more simply a bonus action. Yeah. So it doesn't matter which hand you're using. Right?

SPEAKER_04:

Yeah.

SPEAKER_02:

It's uh yeah, well, it's a dual-wielding.

SPEAKER_07:

Oh, I mean, because honestly, thinking about a bow versus a sword, you're holding a bow with your left hand, and you're holding a sword with your right hand.

SPEAKER_02:

Man, you're really hand dominating people right now. Do you think just because I hold a bow with my left hand and I'm right handed?

SPEAKER_07:

I think that you're holding a bow with your non-dominant hand, and you're holding a sword with your dominant hand, and you're throwing with your dominant hand, and you're attacking button. You have full damage if you have a bow in your offense.

SPEAKER_06:

Uh, natural 20. Damn, that does hit. Roll me some double damage.

SPEAKER_04:

Oh, it's a sneak attack. You know what's freaking insane? Oh my god. Sneak attack. Yep. Sneak attack. So this is minus 10. Alright. No, two plus four. Okay, yeah, so that is thick. You have to minus the five. Where's my snake?

SPEAKER_02:

Oh, because you don't have because it's your because it's offhand.

SPEAKER_04:

But this on the other hand is full damage. 63? Oof.

SPEAKER_06:

Plus uh five. Yeah, tell me how you kill this creature. With a dagger.

SPEAKER_03:

Yeah.

SPEAKER_04:

Fair. So, um Glenn is pissed. So you see him take a step and he throws his dagger with way more force than he has ever thrown a dagger before in his life. And you see this dagger end over end, and as it hits the front of Amarco's head, it just blasts through the entire head, and you just see the entire brain pan blast out of the back of its head, along with the brains and the dagger. Damn.

SPEAKER_01:

He threw the dagger through it.

SPEAKER_04:

Alright. What? I mean, it did 70 points of damage.

SPEAKER_06:

Yeah. Sam, like this this dwarf drops in front of you, and he opens his mouth and a a a whisper comes out. I'm sorry. As he bursts in r in uh a red mist. And Sam, I need you to make me a con save of 16.

SPEAKER_02:

Does uh 25 beat a 16?

SPEAKER_06:

It does beat a 16. Um we're only gonna uh Yeah. Uh 10 points. Blood or 10 points of force damage.

SPEAKER_02:

Worse damage. I don't think I have reserves of force damage. Let me just check on here.

SPEAKER_06:

But you don't take another rage point.

SPEAKER_02:

Nope. I take full damage on that one. But you know what? Doesn't hurt as bad as cutting your own hand. True. Sorry guys, I'm down to 119.

SPEAKER_06:

So now that the combat has ended and you look around, you can see that all of your companions are it's it's almost like a blood frenzy has hit them. Uh all all of your all of your companions' veins are glowing red through their skin. Um you can see a wild crazed eyes in each of your companions' eyes, and uh they seem to be hyper-focusing on one thing at a time.

SPEAKER_02:

I feel like you guys finally get me.

SPEAKER_07:

Yeah, I don't see the problem.

SPEAKER_06:

Um and Sam, even though combat is ended, your rage persists through this.

SPEAKER_02:

It's a good thing I'm not a berserker, alright? Am I right, boys? Yeah, even though even though uh Americo's dead, there's so much static in the air around me that like his beard standing well, his beardless face. No, he does have a beard. It was Tommy that didn't have a beard, that fucking weirdo. Uh Amerigo's beard is like starting to fluff out from all over the lightning just being sparky off of me. Wow, that's really not good. Sorry guys. I'm just filling the air with static, you know, continuing to rage.

SPEAKER_05:

Okay.

SPEAKER_01:

Uh Monty. Monty kind of he comes out from behind the w the rock where he was and walks over to the center of the group and is kind of looking around at everybody. And Tana takes a deep breath and he says, That was fun. I guess Sam's gonna reach down. That was fun.

SPEAKER_06:

Monty, where'd your accent go?

SPEAKER_01:

He he lost his accent now. That'd be fun. Uh he'll say, that that was that was actually a little bit of fun. And he's just kind of looking around at the dead bodies scattered around this little path we find ourselves on.

SPEAKER_02:

Sam's still holding her axe, but she's gonna take her like her left hand and grab Amerigo by the the chest of his clothes and just shake him until all of his loot comes out.

SPEAKER_06:

Uh yeah. Through shaking Amargo, you find uh 14 gold pieces, and a clean red crystal drops from him.

SPEAKER_07:

Does it appear to be what do you wait clean? What do you mean clean?

SPEAKER_06:

Not covered in blood or gore.

SPEAKER_07:

Uh most people would just call that a crystal.

SPEAKER_02:

It's clean. Does it appear to be of similar nature to these in your Facebook marketplace post?

SPEAKER_07:

If you have to specify that there's no blood on it? That's weird. You know that, right?

SPEAKER_06:

It's been vacuumed. Leave me alone.

SPEAKER_07:

You want to buy my blood-free saxophone?

SPEAKER_06:

Excuse me. What were you asking, Sam?

SPEAKER_02:

Uh, does this uh clean red crystal bear any resemblance to the crystals protruding from his body or the crystals that are scattered throughout our hallway?

SPEAKER_06:

Yes and yes.

SPEAKER_02:

Yes. Oh, I don't want to touch it.

SPEAKER_06:

Okay.

SPEAKER_02:

But we'll take them in golds.

SPEAKER_06:

Nice.

SPEAKER_02:

Angrily.

SPEAKER_06:

Okay. Uh you each two have a round salute if you would like.

SPEAKER_04:

A round?

SPEAKER_02:

One round. Uh guess I'll Sam will move over to Tommy, who she killed, and shake him violently as well.

SPEAKER_06:

Yeah. Um as you shake him, you get what looks like a a a long sliver of blo of bone that drops from him. It's definitely the bone that was protruding out of his arm. And it is a wand of unknown origins.

SPEAKER_02:

But it's not made of crystal?

SPEAKER_06:

Nope, it is made of bone.

SPEAKER_02:

Next time I loot it.

SPEAKER_04:

Um Glenn will use his mage hand and uh loot. Errant Quinn. Okay.

SPEAKER_06:

Uh Errant has 34 gold pieces on him. And another red crystal drops. It's it's not as clean as the first red crystal.

SPEAKER_02:

Like a model's red crystal?

SPEAKER_04:

You said 34? Yes. Um. So Glenn will use his mage hand, lay out a cloth, and wrap up the crystal in a cloth, not touching it. Alright. How big is it? Uh it's about three inches long.

SPEAKER_06:

How like will it fit in a vial? It will not fit in a vial. Too wide. It's it's about inches by an inch and a half. Okay, it's a little bit more. Oh, wrapping it in a cloth and drop it in his bag of holding. Okay, great. Monty, uh, nines?

SPEAKER_01:

Yeah, Monty doesn't have much interest in looting these bodies. He's really focused on moving on.

SPEAKER_07:

Okay. Uh, yeah, nines is just glad they're dead.

SPEAKER_06:

Great. Alright, so the next part of this uh is gonna be a skill challenge. If you guys want to continue. Should it take about 20 minutes to do? Or we can call it and continue the next time.

SPEAKER_07:

Uh uh yeah, I got I got twenty in me. Bill? Justin?

SPEAKER_06:

Yes. Yeah, I'm good. Okay. Um I am gonna need everybody to roll me a wisdom saving throw.

SPEAKER_07:

Uh at a three rage that's pretty regular. No, that's just minus one.

SPEAKER_06:

Just minus one. And it's a 15 save.

SPEAKER_07:

I failed with a twelve. Yeah, I I passed with a twenty-seven.

SPEAKER_06:

Twenty-seven?

SPEAKER_07:

I'm just going with a minus one. Yeah. I rolled an eighteen plus nine. Oh yeah, uh minus one twenty-six, I guess, but still.

SPEAKER_01:

Wisdom is this among among things. What's the save?

SPEAKER_06:

Fifteen.

SPEAKER_01:

Oh, yeah, I got sixteen.

SPEAKER_06:

Okay. Alright. Uh Glen and Sam. Uh, you both feel this rage itch at your minds, and you're gonna add an additional rage point, so that's five rage points for both of you, and you now have a minus two to all saving throws for the rest of this uh plane.

SPEAKER_02:

Sweet. I don't like those anyways.

SPEAKER_06:

Guys ready to finish tonight?

SPEAKER_07:

Yeah, let's do it.

SPEAKER_06:

Alright, so out in the corner, uh who has a passive perception above a 14?

SPEAKER_02:

Sam above or a meeting? Meeting or above. Okay, yeah, Sam does, yeah. Sorry.

SPEAKER_07:

Olivia? Uh no. Uh wait, what what number? 14 or above. Yeah, nine has an 18 passive perception.

SPEAKER_06:

In the corner of this room, you all see that a similar looking altar that you saw at the entrance of this temple.

SPEAKER_07:

Nice. Like an alternate altar?

SPEAKER_06:

No, it's another altar. It's pretty much that copy of the altar that you saw at the threshold of this temple.

SPEAKER_07:

Uh huh. And so we're walking through this corridor, we fight these people, and then there's another altar, like another altar. Like uh a smash cut, zoom in. Yeah.

SPEAKER_01:

So we know so far we know that you can either give blood or a second-level spell slot.

SPEAKER_07:

Uh blood. Uh uh a personal anecdote about how uh an emotion saved your life.

SPEAKER_01:

A personal anecdote how an emotion saved our life? Uh expression of rage.

SPEAKER_06:

It was something like an expression of rage. That's what it's described. Yeah.

SPEAKER_01:

So, like an expression of rage, like you hit it with something?

unknown:

Oh.

SPEAKER_06:

Actually, what it is is a confession of rage.

SPEAKER_07:

Oh, there you go. Yeah, you gotta you gotta tell how uh rage um enriched you. This is a cult. We're we're going into the cult building. Like imagine you're trying to join the Church of Scientology. Well, the Church of Barbarians. And and you're trying to pretend that you have no Thaadins, you know? Like come Oh, okay.

SPEAKER_01:

Then uh can I kind of retro redo what Monty said at the end of the battle scene? Like he walks up to the uh to the altar and he kind of looks down at it and states, All this anger, it kind of feels good. I did it in the wrong voice again. He's he's definitely adopting this one. This anger, it it actually feels very good.

SPEAKER_06:

You f you sound significantly less threatening with the accent. Yeah, that's real sexy. I don't know why I'm this hard.

SPEAKER_00:

I'm Catman.

SPEAKER_07:

I think it might be coincidence. And then you said that, so no, I I know what's going on now.

SPEAKER_06:

Okay. Do you want to provide a sacrifice to the altar?

SPEAKER_01:

What is this? Oh, I thought that was it. You had to confess your rage.

SPEAKER_06:

You have to a confession of rage, a blood sacrifice, or giving energy to the altar, which is spending a second level spell slaughter above. Okay.

SPEAKER_07:

So this was I'm sorry, this was at the entrance uh to this temple that we learned this. Um and and my assumption was that there would be several such opportunities. Is there a another altar in our vicinity? Yes.

SPEAKER_01:

Yeah, he just said there was one right in front of us.

SPEAKER_07:

Oh, okay. Sorry, I zoned out.

SPEAKER_01:

I think we're gonna see these in a couple more, probably. Okay, yeah, and I assume so. Yeah, Monty Monty will expand a second level spell slot.

SPEAKER_04:

I thought it was an or, not an and. I'm confused. It is an or.

SPEAKER_07:

Oh yeah, you have several options for ways that you can appease the rage.

SPEAKER_02:

I don't know that Monty's admission of liking this feeling counted as a admission of rage.

SPEAKER_06:

Confession of rage.

SPEAKER_01:

Confession of rage.

unknown:

Okay.

SPEAKER_01:

That's not a confession of rage, like enjoying killing a bunch of people.

SPEAKER_02:

Yeah. Can we get maybe an example of what a confession of rage might be so our characters can meet that?

SPEAKER_06:

That is all the glyph says.

SPEAKER_02:

Right, but for us the players, we have no opportunity. Is there anything can can I roll it in?

SPEAKER_07:

Oh, C out of character here, what I'm imagining is that Brandon is looking for commensurate ideas rather than specific demonstrations.

SPEAKER_01:

I have an idea what that means. So Monty's Monty's at a spot. Let me put it in Monty's headspace. Like he he's realizing that something's affecting him and that he really enjoyed I mean he he he doesn't have a problem killing with people, but he hasn't never enjoyed it as much as he is, and he's enjoying this rage feeling that he is getting. And he's embracing it. But uh how to how to physically do that, I'm confused. Yeah.

SPEAKER_02:

It's watching the light leave their eyes. Sam will take a swing at it if they're in in time for uh so Sam will, uh, still raging, grab the lower half of Tommy Mage Blaster and just drag him up to this thing, toss him into the circle, the circle of runes and stones, and then use her bonus action while raging till zap this lower torso and legs with lightning and just scream at it as a confession of rage.

SPEAKER_06:

Alright. So, Monty, you have done a you've spent a level two spell slot, correct?

SPEAKER_01:

Well, I wanted to go with the confession of rage thing, but again, I don't understand how it wor like. So sh sure, we'll go with the the second level spell slot. Oh yeah. I'll give up on the other part.

SPEAKER_06:

I I'll do I'll do Sam's first, that's fine. Uh yeah. Sam, you feel the rage calm calm you slightly, and you you're gonna reduce your rage points by one.

SPEAKER_02:

Back down to four.

SPEAKER_06:

Back down to four. So you no longer have a minus two to all saving throws.

SPEAKER_01:

For now. I'll just expend a spell slot. Fair enough. I saw I I don't I don't understand, but that's okay. Doesn't matter. I as a player, I as a player don't understand. I'm in the same place Glenn was, or Bill is having listened to the being intentionally in vague.

SPEAKER_06:

It's meant to be intentionally vague.

SPEAKER_01:

Awesome. There you go.

SPEAKER_06:

Anybody else want to do anything?

SPEAKER_01:

No?

SPEAKER_05:

Okay.

SPEAKER_06:

That puts Monty at four, Sam at four, nines at four, Glenn at five. Yeah, because I don't have spill slots.

SPEAKER_02:

I thought you were a wizard.

SPEAKER_04:

Yeah, but apparently that doesn't count. So Brandon just likes fucking with me, so.

SPEAKER_01:

So everything for me goes back to normal, correct? Except for the minus one to wisdom.

SPEAKER_06:

Minus one to wisdom, you have advantage on all attack rolls, and creatures have advantage against attack rolls against you. Alright. So as you're all standing around this uh this altar, the ground starts to tremble violently, and as you look around, you can see the blood from all the uh uh enemies you've slain start to get absorbed in the ground. And the the crystals seem to react from this. They start growing rapidly. Uh veins of blood-red crystals start surging up from the floors, the walls, even the ceiling. And in moments, it seems like the temple's become a living thing. It starts growing, lashing, and and moving towards you. Um it it and the hall behind you where you came from starts erupting with crystals. And your choices are to be m to move or to be entomed in these crystals themselves. So we are gonna do a ski uh skill check as these crystals are growing all around the halls all around you. Your goal is to get to the end of the hall and down the stairs um to the final chamber uh before the crystals overwhelm you. There is going to be sorry uh we we need five successes before three failures. The DC for all of these is going to be 17.

SPEAKER_07:

Oof. Okay. Uh and so how how do we affect successes?

SPEAKER_06:

Uh yeah, so successes they're are sorry. So you can what I would like you to do is describe what you want to do. Maybe it's uh try to force your way through the rapidly growing walls of crystals uh by using athletics. Or maybe you're trying to uh I don't know, uh recall a forgotten prayer from an Whole time to try to slow the divine corruption around you, and maybe that's a religion check, that kind of stuff. So describe me what you want to do and the check you want to use, and then I will uh and we'll get a roll for you.

SPEAKER_01:

Who's it going? Are we doing an initiative order for this?

SPEAKER_06:

Yeah, same initiative orders last time for so Glenn, you are first.

SPEAKER_07:

I can guts to open if that would be helpful. I.e. I have an idea for how my character wants to do this.

SPEAKER_04:

You can go ahead.

SPEAKER_07:

I Yeah, what I'm what I'm thinking is that uh because Nines is such a dexterous and acrobatic fellow, um, and especially given the the rage that has been bubbling up within him, um I I feel like it would be pretty within character or relatively easy for him to practically uh bounce between uh crystal growths, i.e., he surges towards one growth of crystals and like elbows it and then uses that momentum and jumps off to the next growth on the other side of the wall and and and attacks that. And so he's really just using his dexterity to bounce around to try to create a uh an opening or a path forward for his companions. Does that make sense?

SPEAKER_06:

Yeah, give me an acrobatics roll. Absolutely.

SPEAKER_07:

Yeah, uh, and which is great because I have a plus eleven in fucking acrobatics.

SPEAKER_06:

So what are the chances you roll below a 17?

SPEAKER_07:

Uh very little I just rolled a 24. Uh so 13 plus 11 for 24. Uh how does 9's fare in in trying to punch his way out of the situation?

SPEAKER_06:

Yeah, so you're as these uh jagged spikes of crystals are erupting from the walls around you, you're able to dodge and weave around them, bouncing from crystal to crystal, uh, from rooftop to rooftop, like a nimbly blimbly cat. Hey yo! Hey. Uh, and uh yeah, you're able to uh push a path forward for your other companions.

SPEAKER_07:

Hell yeah, nines is gonna yell out like uh Follow me, you clumsy dummies.

SPEAKER_06:

This is Nines raging. You dummies!

SPEAKER_07:

Yes, he He fucking pulls out the big words.

SPEAKER_06:

Okay, who would like to go next?

SPEAKER_02:

Sam will go. Uh yeah, so I'm still raging, right, Sam?

SPEAKER_03:

Mm-hmm.

SPEAKER_02:

So mechanically I get advantage on strength tricks. Uh conveniently, there is in fact only one ability, or uh what is this? Skill. Only one skill that cares about strength, which is athletics.

unknown:

That's true.

SPEAKER_02:

Uh which Sam's pretty good at. So she's gonna run forward, she's gonna try to follow in Nines' footsteps. She's really not she's she's nimble enough, but she's not nimbly divimbly, you know. Uh so she doesn't quite like Prince of Persia back and forth along these things. So she's kind of like bashing any of these crystals on the ground instead of like through the air, like what he uh I imagined Nines was doing. And I get to the point where like some of them are like starting to crush together, and Sam will end up sliding in between them and just like push them apart and make room for uh Monty and Glenn to squeeze through.

SPEAKER_06:

Nice, yeah. Give me an athletics roll.

SPEAKER_02:

At advantage. Cause Rich. That's a 27.

SPEAKER_06:

Uh yeah. Sam, as you're running through forward, you're uh you're like a running back for a football team. You're just pushing through all these crystals, you're forcing your way through the rapidly growing walls of the crystal, and and you're just you're knocking them out. You see shards erupt around you as you're running forward, um, and none of these crystals seem to slow you down at all. Um where nines was bouncing around, you're just forcing your way through this wall of crystals.

SPEAKER_04:

Alright, so Glenn, having paid attention to Nines pushing his way through and finding a path, and the path that Sam is clearing his way through or her way through, and clearing the way for the rest of the group, he's going to observe it and watch and find the way through. Yeah, give me perception roll. Okay, natural one, but thankfully, I get a 10. So that would be a 21.

SPEAKER_06:

Silly rogues things. Yeah. I'm not gonna fuck with you for the nat one.

SPEAKER_04:

Uh checks don't use natural ones or natural twenties either.

SPEAKER_06:

Yep. You would argue with me differently if you rolled a nat twenty on a Christmas save. Or not a Christmas save, on a percep or a per persuasion or a deception. That's a good one. For flavor, yes. Yeah, exactly. For flavor, he claimed. Um yeah, Glenn, you're able to spot the weak points of these crystals that have not yet rooted, and you're able to bounce from uh uh crevasse to crevasse as you're jumping around this this uh this canyon in this temple, and you're able to catch up to Sam N9's. That's that is three successes, zero failures.

SPEAKER_01:

Monty would like to use his feline agility. And uh he's gonna kind of dart and dash and jump to try to avoid these crystals and catch up with his companions.

SPEAKER_06:

Okay, so if you're trying to use acrobatics, that skill has already been used, so I will make you roll it at disadvantage.

SPEAKER_01:

Okay. Uh let me do So which ones have already been used?

SPEAKER_06:

Athletics, acrobatics, and perception. Maybe you want to do something like uh survival, like uh you're trying to predict where the the next growth will burst from the floor, or uh maybe you want to do arcana. You wanna concentrate and temporarily disrupt the crystal growth. Um maybe insight and you feel the the beat in the earth itself.

SPEAKER_01:

Trying to think of either insight or possibly stealth. Um, okay. Can Monty kind of maneuver his uh way down this path, um hiding behind rocks and try to uh I don't know. Can you see can you use stealth against an inanimate object? That probably doesn't make any sense.

SPEAKER_06:

Um maybe use his inks. I'll say this. I'll say this. Yeah. Um so the crystals seem to be reacting to your individual characters, and they seem to be growing towards you almost like they're hunting you. So maybe uh maybe the growth is partially reactive to movement and sound. So if you want to attempt to move silently and carefully through the hall to try to avoid these sudden bursts of crystals that seem to be moving towards you, I'll Okay, we'll do that one then.

SPEAKER_01:

Give me a fair showing some some sort of a uh intelligence, if you will. Uh 15 on the dash for 24.

SPEAKER_06:

Yeah, that that's safe. So yeah, you're able to move silently, carefully through the hall, and the the crystals don't seem to acknowledge your presence as you're walking through it. Okay. Sam, did you have something?

SPEAKER_02:

Uh I have an idea for our next check.

SPEAKER_06:

Yeah, we only need one more save.

SPEAKER_02:

Pop my hat in there. And then somebody else has got something. What do you got? Uh so I'm gonna cash in my hero my inspiration. And uh I'm gonna try to use intimidation. Sam sees how slow Monty's going. And he's gonna be like, Jeez, is like just full of rage, still raging, right? Just There's no time for that! Let's go! And just try to intimidate Monty into hurrying his ass.

SPEAKER_07:

Oh. Nice. Is this a challenge or an adversarial role?

SPEAKER_06:

Okay. Um I will trying to think. Okay, yeah. Uh Monty, you feel this rage towards you. Uh it's gonna be probably a roll against roll. It's not gonna be a save. So intimidation versus what would it be?

SPEAKER_02:

Oh, wait, would Monty be resisting it? I'm trying to encourage him to come through, but in an aggressive way.

SPEAKER_07:

I feel like the opposite of uh intimidation is kind of uh wherewithal or maybe even straight wisdom or uh a save versus maybe maybe it's a wisdom save.

SPEAKER_02:

Is it maybe better as a persuasion check to like convince him not to take his time but just to get his ass moving?

SPEAKER_06:

Yeah, if it was if it was persuasion, I would do a straight check. 17 or higher.

SPEAKER_02:

I'll I'll still catch in my my inspiration, but persuasion check to like stealth is really great, but not right now. It's fucking good.

SPEAKER_06:

Alright, give it to me.

SPEAKER_01:

And the crystals see him and attack.

SPEAKER_02:

Yeah. Is a natural 20 plus six good enough for that?

SPEAKER_06:

Natural twenties don't count during skill checks.

SPEAKER_02:

Well then is a 26 okay? I don't understand the rules anymore.

SPEAKER_06:

Uh yeah, Monty, you feel this this inspiring speech from Sam and grunts and movements of her hand. And she convinces you to move faster as you're stealthing towards the hall. And though the crystals do feel you and they see you once again, they start erupting towards you, you're able to run faster and just dodge all these crystals as they're erupting.

SPEAKER_00:

Okay.

SPEAKER_01:

Monty has inspired.

SPEAKER_06:

Nice. Alright. So you guys see anything yet? Teabags.

SPEAKER_04:

Oh, I was not looking at the thing. Okay.

SPEAKER_02:

Oh, I zoomed out. They don't look like teabags anymore. No, they're not. It looks like a giant heart.

SPEAKER_06:

Okay. So you all emerge into this large cavern. It's got an altar on the end, and these crystals seem to be growing in a pattern that you recognize as uh what looks like a the heart of uh like what a child would draw. And uh there are large uh cliff edges all around this this temple, and it seems to be built into the natural stone around it. There's a large cave hole in this cavern, and on the altar itself, uh there is a glowing red crystal, and it seems to be pulling you all towards it. Um as soon as you enter this area, you feel just this this rage start building in all of you, and it starts itching at your head uh itching at your minds, and you look towards your companions, and you just feel this unjust unmitigated anger and rage towards all of your allies, every wrongdoing, every time Nines has snored in his sleep, every time Monty has left uh you know scraps of food on his plate while you're traveling, every time Glenn has attacked a door when a you could just use the doorknob. Um every time Sam has just farred it while you're in an enclosed space, just the indignation of it all. And uh that is where we're gonna end the night. Sam, do you have anything to add?

SPEAKER_02:

Uh uh question about the map. Is You mentioned cliffs around the edges. Are those cliffs up or cliffs down?

SPEAKER_06:

Up.

SPEAKER_02:

Cliffs up, okay. Thank you.

unknown:

Alright.

SPEAKER_07:

So uh I love all of it. Uh I I see immediately your influences, and I fucking love it. It's it's fucking exciting, so thank you for that. I I had a great time.

SPEAKER_06:

Love it. Uh I appreciate you noting um all my nerdiness because I don't ever come up with anything by myself. It's all, you know, influenced by video games and movies and every book that I've ever read or listened to. You you come up with it by pulling that shit together.

SPEAKER_02:

Give yourself some credit.
