Money doesn’t always buy happiness and doctors are not immune from mental health issues.

The Medical Journal of Australia recently reported that one in five medical students reported suicidal ideation in the preceding 12 months and 50% of junior doctors experience moderate to high levels of distress.

But it doesn’t stop once you fellow, consultants attempt or commit suicide every year.

My episodes typically focus on improving our financial literacy, today we’re going to improve our emotional literacy because happiness is not directly related to our bank account.

Today my guest is Hugh Van Cuylenburg. He’s the author and founder of the Resilience Project. Through engaging programs and practical strategies, he’s teaching Australians how to become resilient in our new and demanding world. His message is being spread through schools, elite sports teams and corporate Australia.

This is a casual conversation where we discuss the positive impact of bringing gratitude, empathy and mindfulness into our daily lives so that we can be more fulfilled and happy.
