Send us a text

Embark on a cosmic journey with me as we journey through the mysteries of the Vedic deity, Ganesha. Well-known for removing obstacles and opening pathways to success, we'll delve into his significance both symbolically and in our everyday lives. As the divine offspring of  Mother Durga/ Parvati and Masculine Shiva in the Vedic pantheon, Ganesha has the power to dissolve patterns, behaviors, and blockages that confine us. Honoring Ganesha/Ganapati, the principle that removes obstacles, during  the month of September 2023 is very auspicious. It's a good time to  learn new mantras to help clear obstacles in your lives.   The celebration of Ganesha is called Ganesh Chaturthi, a Hindu festival commemorating the birth of the Hindu god Ganesha which occurs this year on Tuesday, September 19, 2023 in India.

Jill reads the Ganesha Kavacham in English which bestows protective powers to all who listen to these powerful words.  Sanskrit Mantras are sacred sound formulas that remove obstacles and bestow blessings.

Further, we'll explore the transformative effects of the Ganesha mantras, particularly the one comprising six seed sounds (Om Shrim Hrim Klim Glaum Gum Ganapatayei, Vara Varada Sarva Janam Me Vasha Manaya Swaha).  As Jill  guides you through the chant, starting slow and gradually increasing the tempo, you'll experience firsthand the power of invoking Ganesha's presence. By the end of the episode, you'll not only have a profound understanding of this Vedic deity but also practical ways of incorporating Ganesha mantras into your routine. Enjoy this his enlightening exploration of Ganesha, and together, let's clear those obstacles that stand in our way!

Speaker 1:

Welcome to Cosmic Scene with Jill Jardine. I'm your host, jill Jardine, master's in Counseling, psychology, longtime astrologer, psychichealer, yogi and Sanskrit mantra instructor. In this episode, we celebrate Ganesha, the remover of obstacles. In the Vedic tradition, this has to do with all kinds of obstacles, removing them in your life, your body, your emotions, in your field. So stay tuned to learn more. Welcome to the episode on Ganesha, the Vedic deity that removes obstacles, known for that elephant head and the big belly seen on yoga t-shirts, yoga walls and generally an icon of happiness and health now in the yogic arena. So Ganesha comes to us from ancient Vedic teachings as the remover of obstacles. He is the son of the Divine Mother, Durga Parvati and the Divine Masculine, shiva, but as Westerners, we can use the Ganesha energy to get our lives in order. There's many mantras to Ganesha. I've done two other podcasts in previous years on Ganesha mantras and I'm going to share five new ones in this podcast at the end. But in the meantime, think about any area of your life where you may feel obstacles, blockages, or just can't seem to overcome certain patterns, behaviors. This is where Ganesha can help you, and the month of September 2023 is the time of year when Ganesha is celebrated specifically September 18th 19th, as the Ganesha Chaturthi, or birth of Ganesha, occurs as a holiday in India. So use this time and all year long to remove obstacles by honoring that energy of Ganesha, the remover of obstacles. Ganesha goes by Ganapati as well, and Ganesha actually has several names that are part of the various mantras. But I want to start the podcast by sharing Ganesha Kavacham. This is protection. This is to protect your body and your being, which is very important during these times when there's all kinds of things going on out there in the world. I'm going to read the English translation of the Ganesha Kavacham and just in this translation you will receive the healing and protection.

Speaker 1:

Om that which is auspicious. May we hear with our ears that which is sacred, may we see with our eyes, may we sing your glories and enjoy good health, with strong limbs and body that is allotted to us by you. Oh God, om peace, peace, peace. May Indra, the Lord of the Devas, the all knowing God, pusha, the Son, and Tarkshah, who removes all calamities, ambriya Svati, the presiding deity over the intellect and guru of the Celestials, all these beings, the high powers of Almighty God, protect us and bestow prosperity. May we be free from the triple afflictions coming from the worlds above, within and without. Om peace, peace, peace. Salutations to Lord Ganapati.

Speaker 1:

Thou art the living truth. Adorations to thee. Oh, living God, oh, embodiment of the great saying. Thou art that. Thou art the Creator supporter. Thou art the dissolver of the universe. All this is pervaded by thee and thou art eternal Othman. I speak that which is right. I speak that which is true. I See and glorify thy transcendental form and listen to thy great virtues. I adore thee and worship thee. I have dedicated my life for studying thy great deeds. Protect me from the west and the east, from the north and the south, from above and below. Protect me from all calamities. Look at me, my lord, protect me.

Speaker 1:

Thou art the embodiment of all eloquence and wisdom. Thou art pure consciousness. Thou art the embodiment of bliss. Thou art brahmin. Thou art truth, knowledge and bliss absolute, and thou art one without a second. Thou art the visible God. Thou art knowledge and thou art wisdom. This whole universe has emerged from thee. This whole universe is sustained and maintained by thee. This whole creation is dissolved by thy power. This whole universe merges back into thee. Thou art the earth, water, fire, air and sky. Thou art the source of words and eloquence. Thou art beyond the three gunas known as Satva, poise, rajas, passion and Thomas, ignorance. Thou art beyond the triple bodies known as the physical, subtle and causal, and the three states of consciousness, wakeful dream and deep sleep. Thou art beyond past, present and future. Mudadara chakra, the root supporting mystical center at the base of spine, is your eternal dwelling place. Thou art the embodiment of three powers known as Nyanasakti wisdom power, itchachakti will power and Kriyayatsakti creative power. The great yogis always meditate on thee. Thou art Brahma, vishnu and Shiva. Thou art Agni, the fire, god, vayu the wind, god and Suriya, the sun, god. Thou art Chandra, the moon, god and Brahma that pervades the earth, space in heaven.

Speaker 1:

Thou art Om. The first letter of the word Ghana is Gah that I utter first. Then is the nasal sound, mmm. When chanted together, they become gum, the seed syllable of the old Lord Ganesha. This appears like a beautiful crescent moon. This is thy transcendental form. Gah forms the first letter, a, the middle letter, and the nasal sound mmm, m forms the last letter. This sound, gum, is the essence of all sounds. I meditate on nada, the cosmic sound. I meditate on the holy Vedic scriptures for this.

Speaker 1:

Ganesha Vidya, wisdom, science on Ganesha. The sage is gunaka Gayatri is the meter, ganapati is the presiding deity of this mantra and the great mantra of Ganesha is Om Gum Ganapatiye Namaha. I recognize the one tusk elephant headed Lord. I meditate on his twisted trunk Symbolizing. Om made that one tusk Lord and light inspired me. Om Ekatan Thai of it. My hey va cratundai di me. He Than o danti he prachodaya. This is the Ganesha Gayatri Ekatan Thai of it. My hey va cratundai di me. He Than o danti he prachodaya.

Speaker 1:

I meditate on the one tusk Lord Ganesha's face. He has four arms. He is holding a noose with his upper right hand and he holds the goat with his upper left hand. In his lower left hand he is holding one tusk and he is showing the gesture of benediction. With his lower right hand he has the banner of the mouse.

Speaker 1:

His color is red. He is of big belly, carrying all the locus or spheres in it. His ears resemble winnowing baskets. He is clad with red color clothes. His whole body is smeared with red sandwood paste and he is worshiped with red flowers. He melts for his devotees and protects them. He is the primal cause of this universe. He is deathless principal. He manifested before the creation of this universe. He is beyond prakriti, the primordial energy, and prusha, the individual soul, whomever meditates on him. Thus, every day, that yogi is the greatest among yogis.

Speaker 1:

Salutations to the lord of the divine species. Salutations to the lord of the Ganas. Salutations to the lord of the attendants of Shiva. Salutations to the cosmic bellied one, the one tusk elephant. Lord the remover of obstacles, the son of lord Shiva. Salutations to one who showers his blessings.

Speaker 1:

Have you ever wanted to study astrology? Do you know what your soul purpose is? Do you know what your gifts, talents, strengths and weaknesses are? Do you want to find out? Everybody's talking about their chart. Now you can too.

Speaker 1:

I'm offering a six module astrology course coming up in October 2023. You can go on my website, jilljardineastrologycom and register on my astrology course and join the cosmic party. So when we say these mantras and the transliteration of mantras into English, as I just did with the Ganesha Kavacham, which is the protection of Ganesha, transliterated into English, you're going to receive a transmission from my words, even the English words. You will get some healing from. That is why I'm doing this episode to transmit some healing.

Speaker 1:

And now we're going to go into the part of the episode where I teach five new Ganesha mantras that I have not shared in previous podcasts when I taught Ganesha mantras. So the first one is connected to Ganesha, as the one trunked one, and his name is Ekantantaya, and this mantra brings focus. Ekantantaya means he with the supreme focus, with the one pointedness, and as we have the one pointedness, we can focus on what's important and illuminate the intellect and get out of ignorance. So, to bring one pointedness to the mind, this mantra can achieve a single-minded state of mind. Having wish and united with devotion, you can achieve anything and everything, and the mantra is Ekantantaya Namaha, om Ekadantiyanamaha, om Ekadantiyanamaha.

Speaker 1:

The next Ganesha mantra that I will share has to do with dispelling negativity, whether that negative energy is inside you or coming from outside you, coming from another person, coming from a situation, coming from your own negative ego or hatred in or out of enemies, and any form of negativity. This mantra will dispel that. Om Ushista Gan-a-Pataye Namaha, om Yukista Ghanapataye Namaha, om Yukista Ghanapataye Namaha, om Yukistagana Pataye Namaha, om Yukista Ghanapataye Namaha, om Yukistagana Pataye Namaha, om Yukistagana Pataye Namaha. And I always like to share Ganesha Mantras coupled with Lakshmi, the Goddess of Abundance and Prosperity, and I've taught several of them, but this is one where we take the foundation, the foundation Ganesha Mantra, om Gham Gana Patayey Namaha, and we add the seed sound for Lakshmi Shreem to it.

Speaker 1:

Most of the mantras Om Shreem Gham Gana Patayey Namaha, and this next Ganesha mantra is kind of magical, because Ganesha can bring us something called cities, and cities are special magical powers Well, not so magical Things like intuition, intuition, clairvoyance, synchronicity all of these are considered cities and we get to a certain level of spiritual development and those can come to us naturally. And so this mantra helps to get the city or blessing of Ganesha and invokes the power of Ganesha to overcome evil and overcome any difficulty and bring success to all activities. And the mantra is Om Shri Siddhi. Siddhi is spelled S, I, d, d, h I Vina Yakaya Namaha. Vina Yakaya is another name for Ganesha, so the mantra is Om Sri Siddhi Vinayakaya Namaha.

Speaker 1:

And the last Ganesha mantra I'm going to share today is one of my favorites. It's a little bit longer and it helps to bring things under some kind of control, so long as they are truly your concern. So it's basically saying please bring those things that concern me under my control. One meaning is to offer your ego, asking for a shower of blessings, and this mantra is so powerful because it has quite a few seeds. The mantra is Om Sri Rima Kliam Glam Gum, ganapathayay Vahra Vahra Da Sarvajaname Vashamana Yasvaha.

Speaker 1:

So right there we have six seed sounds Om Sri Rima, kliam Glam Gum. Om universal consciousness, shreem, seed for prosperity, goddess of abundance. Reem, the seed for the sacred heart. Cleem, the principle of attraction. Glom, another seed for Ganesha. Gum, the foundational seed for Ganesha.

Speaker 1:

So the mantra starts with six seed sounds. Thus it has quite a bit of power and can move energy. So I will chant it slowly to begin and then I'll speed up and receive the transmission from this powerful Ganesha mantra. Om shreem reem cleem glom gum gana patayay vada vada da sarva jhana me va shaman yas vaha. Om shreem reem cleem glom gum gana patayay vada vada da sarva jhana me va shaman yas vaha. Om shreem reem cleem glom gum gana patayay vada vada da sarva jhana me. Vasha man yas vaha. Om shreem reem cleem glom gum gana patayay vada vada da sarva jhana me.
