Welcome to the podcast on the nodal axis shift into Pisces and Virgo and how that affects us all and those who have that placement in their natal charts. The lunar nodes are a karmic axis in astrology and when they change signs, it sets the tone for the collective karmic lessons for the next 18 months. In this episode, I'm going to discuss the significance of the lunar nodes in astrology and why it is important to know when they shift signs. On January 11, 2025, the north node enters Pisces and the south node into Virgo until July 26, 2026. The nodes aren't actual planets or asteroids. They are points where the moon moves into the northern ecliptic hemisphere, ascending north node, and where the moon enters the southern ecliptic, descending south node. They are always opposite each other, six signs apart on the astrological wheel, and they progress counterclockwise, as opposed to the planets all going clockwise, and their transit is in an axis, for instance, this Pisces-Virgo polarity, for approximately 18 months. Also, the signs that the nodes transit indicate what signs the eclipses will occur for the next 18 months. We just finished the cycle of eclipses occurring in the Marshal sign of Aries and the Peace sign of Libra, which began in 2023.

Speaker 1:

In Vedic astrology, the lunar nodes are called Rahu, the North Node, or Dragon's Head, and Ketu, the South Node, or Dragon's Tail, and their meaning and influence in a birth chart and further in the life of an individual is prominent. They represent the karma we bring with us in this lifetime and show what we need to work on to develop as we progress in life. The North Node, while making use of the qualities and challenges we are born with Now. This karma isn't just randomly loaded into you at birth. It's a result of your actions, cause and effect, cycles from previous lifetimes. The eclipses occurring in the next 18 months will also affect the signs of Virgo and Pisces. The lunar nodes are always involved in eclipse patterns as they swallow the sun or moon. In Vedic philosophy, in Vedic astrology, the north node is called Rahu and the south node is called Ketu. During eclipses, rahu or Ketu swallow the sun or moon, or both, as in a solar eclipse. Eclipses are shadowy times and Rahu and Ketu are the shadow archetypes of what lurks in the subconscious of a person or the collective unconscious. The story of Rahu and Ketu in the Vedic scriptures throws some light on how the lunar nodes are subconscious elements that lurk in the background. Here's a brief synopsis of the story of the lunar nodes from Vedic scriptures.

Speaker 1:

Quote when the Asuras, demons and Devas angels, goddesses, gods turned the ocean, amrita was produced. Amrita is the divine nectar of immortality. Demons stole the Amrita, so Lord Vishnu took incarnation in the form of a beautiful damsel called Mohini and tried to please and distract the Asuras or or demons in order to take back the Amrita. On receiving the Amrit, mohini came to Devas, the goddesses and gods, to distribute it to them. Svarbhanu, one of the Asuras, changed his appearance to a deva to obtain some portion of the amrit. However, surya, the sun, and Chandra, the moon, realized that Svarbhanu was an asura, a demon, not one of the devas. Knowing this, lord Vishnu severed Svarbhanu's head with his discus, the Sudarshan Chakra. However, even though his head and body became separated, they remained immortal as a separate entity. Before his head was cut off, he managed to drink a drop of the nectar from the Amrita. The head is known as Rahu and the headless body is Ketu. Since then, rahu and Ketu constantly chase the sun and moon for revenge, as they are the cause of separating the head and body of the Asura Svarbhanu. It is popular belief that when they succeed in catching sun and moon, they swallow them, causing a solar or lunar eclipse, but they can't hold them for long and the sun and moon emerge again intact, as they also had nectar and are immortal.

Speaker 1:

We find that it is through myth, storytelling or, as they call it in India, harikata, that we better understand phenomenas in astrology and other sacred sciences. Now let's discuss the nodes. In mathematical astrological science, the lunar nodes are a mathematical point between the sun and moon. The nodes rest along an axis, giving us a north node and a south node, which are polarity, meaning in opposite signs. In Western astrology, the north node represents our destiny in this lifetime or our mission or what we incarnated to achieve in this embodiment, sometimes viewed as our future, our growth edge and what we are working towards. The South Node, however, represents our past strengths or weaknesses, karma from past lives, our default position or what is easier for us to maintain and the foundation we are building upon.

Speaker 1:

In Vedic astrology, the symbolism of the north and south node is a bit different. The north node, rahu, represents what we are here to learn in this life, forcing soul growth. Rahu tends to be more worldly or material in nature. We take on the physicality of embodiment and thus have to learn the lessons of being in a physical form. With Rahu cycles in our chart, we have to remember we are spiritual beings having a material experience, lest we get swallowed by Rahu's constant urge for more, more, more. Rahu can be competitive, materialistic, looking for worldly gains and values. Ketu, or the South Node, on the other hand, is more spiritual in nature, seeking moksha or liberation, and rejecting worldly pursuits like relationships and making money. Ketu is more myopic, leading to single-mindedness which can lead to fanaticism. Ketu wants enlightenment. If the Ketuvic impulse connects with a religion, culture, group, it can make for a true believer in a cause or group, which can lead to fanatical or even violent behavior for the cause.

Speaker 1:

The signs that the lunar nodes travel and the connections they make while transiting, those signs influence the collective consciousness and worldly affairs for those 18 months. While the nodes in our own natal chart can carry personal meaning, the position of the nodes can also indicate our collective karma and the lessons we are working through on a global level as they travel through the different nodal axis. So to get an idea of what we might expect, while the nodes travel through Virgo, the south node, and Pisces, the north node, let's look back to when they previously traveled this karmic axis. Most recently it was from June 23, 2006 to December 18, 2007. Then from December 1987 through May 1989. Before that it was from April 20th 1969 through November 2nd 1970, from July 27th 1950 through March 28th 195.

Speaker 1:

Those with the North Node in Pisces and the South Node in Virgo will have their nodal returns. So these are the people born during these times June 2006 through December 2007. So they're between 18 and 19 years old, december 1987 through May 1989. So those who are between 36 and 37 years old, april 1969 through November 1970. Those people are between 55 and 56 years old, july 1950 through March 1952. They're 74 through 75 years old and those born in 1932 through June 1933, so they're 92 to 94 years old.

Speaker 1:

Then I ask you to think back to what was going on in your life during those years. This is a karmic return for situations in our life during 2006 through 2007 and 1988 through 1989. Think back to what was happening, as I said, and what was significant for you, because there could be another level and, more importantly, if you are born during one of these previous North Nodes and Pisces, south Node and Virgo cycles, you are having your nodal return. All those dates I mentioned above and this is very significant to you on a personal level you are returning to your soul or soul mission. If you haven't fulfilled your dharma or life purpose, this is a wake-up call, or circumstances, situation and people in your life will change to get you on the right path.

Speaker 1:

This is sometimes a very auspicious time, when the unrealized potential bursts forth and opportunities arise out of the blue in a predestined way. The nodal return years are truly a time of destiny and soul revelations. Years are truly a time of destiny and soul revelations and, as I said, they occur at approximately 18 to 19 years old, between 36 and 37, 55 to 56, 74 to 75 years old, and if you get to 92 to 93 years old, you're having a nodal return. It goes without saying that both those with sun signs in Pisces and Virgo will be affected by the lunar nose transiting over their natal sun between January 11, 2025 to 2026. Also, there are many who have other planets, such as the moon or the rising sign or any of the other planets, located in Virgo Pisces, so this is a good time to check with your favorite astrologer, jill Jardine, to see how you will be affected in the next 18 months. The South Node is not just about the past. It represents what we have mastered and what we have to remember in order to fully accept and integrate our destiny. While the North Node is where we are heading, the South Node represents what we can't forget and what we have to honor in order to achieve this next step of our destiny.

The lunar nodes are actually mathematical points drawn between sun and moon and are linked to eclipse cycles. So they're not actual planets, they're mathematical points. While the lunar nodes sound quite technical, they're actually one of the most magical and esoteric components of astrology, and that's both in Western and Vedic astrology. The lunar nodes can give us whispers of what we did in a past life, what our purpose is in this incarnation and what lessons we have come to master on a soul level, on a collective level. The positioning of the lunar nodes indicates our evolution as a society and what themes and lessons we are destined to work with, and what themes and lessons we are destined to work with. On each eclipse in these respective signs, the universe will reveal more of the lessons, gifts and work the lunar nodes have in store for us. I'm going to dive a little more deeper now and unpack what these nodal placements mean for all of us. So here we are the North Node in Pisces, transiting from January 2025 to July 2026. So this is going to indicate what is the society moving towards?

Speaker 1:

Well, pisces is interesting because it's considered a spiritual sign, but it's also considered a deceptive and delusional sign and it can be quite nebulous. So, on a bigger scale, we may not actually know what's happening. There can be deception, there can be lies. However, the spiritual part of Pisces is supporting our creativity, asks us to move with compassion and to remember the big picture. Pisces energy is very spiritual and encourages us to step outside the realms of the physical dimensions and into more abstract ones. And, as I've mentioned in previous podcasts, I feel that Pisces rules energy. It's these things we can't see, but we have a sense of that. We can feel In the 12th house. Pisces is indicated by the 12th house in astrology, which is the unknown, which is what is hidden, which has a connection with the soul, which is an undercurrent. We can't quite put our finger on, but we know it's there. So Pisces is the last sign of the zodiac, so it holds the vibration of endings. This nodal placement indicates something of a karmic nature is coming to an end in our society and for us personally, we may find as we move through the next 18 months that something comes to a close or culmination point. So we have to be really aware and see what's happening.

Speaker 1:

Pisces also rules over religion, so under this placement we could see more religious views interweaving their way into our society. We may see the dark side of religion too, with more fanatical, fundamental and rigid religious beliefs be creating tension and strife and trying to dictate what society does or doesn't do. As Piscean energy is out of this world, there could be a tendency toward escapism, drug use or being out of touch with reality. People might want to escape to another planet like mars. We may find it hard to discern facts from fiction or commit to ideas, projects or even a schedule under the north node, in pisces.

Speaker 1:

With the north node in pisces, we are invited to develop and strengthen our spiritual muscles and to remember that there is so much more than just our five senses. It can really help us embrace the higher realms. It can help us to think more creatively and step into these unseen realms of possibility, abundance and future realities. On a society level, there's going to be perhaps a move toward compassion. Therefore, the grace of God, go. I People can be more open-minded and tolerant. But again, we may see a lot of delusions and deceptions occurring in our society, especially by those who hold power. So we have to be really clear and tune in to our own intuition to get the real truth. So the South Node transiting through Virgo at the same time from January 2025 through April 2026, is a different energetic. The South Node in Virgo shows us what we are building upon and where our strengths lie. The South Node generally represents what we have already mastered and we need to move away from in order to keep progressing.

Speaker 1:

Well, one thing I want to say about Virgo Pisces Access. Virgo does rule medicine, health, things like nutrition, allopathic medicine, how people deal with all of that, including insurance issues, including, you know, going to see the doctor. Virgo is also a sign of compartmentalization. So the way the modern health system is, it tends to look at the body, depending on what is acting up or where people might be feeling illness. What organ when Pisces is much more holistic in nature. It would ask that we look at the whole body or the whole system, and maybe even it's the emotions or psychology which is creating physical problems. So we'll see an integration of allopathic and holistic medicine becoming more popular, as well as technologies related to regular medicine and hospitals being improved, and also technologies that are more connected to things like scalar energy medicine and other energetic impulses, such as Tesla and what would be considered a little bit far out. We can see them getting integrated.

Speaker 1:

Virgo energy, unlike Pisces, which is more spiritual, virgo is more practical and materialistic. Virgo likes to be organized, methodical and down to earth. Virgo needs plans, where Pisces energy doesn't like to be limited to any plans. So we are building off earthy, grounded and practical sides to move into a more free-flowing and less rigid place. And then, if we look at Virgo being an earth sign ruling the earth and Pisces being a water sign ruling water, we may see more earth changes in the form of earth eruptions, volcanic activity, earth moving and shaking, and then water inundations, hurricanes, tsunamis and the like, with this earth-water axis being activated. The last time the North Node fell in Pisces and the South Node fell in Virgo was from June 2006-2007. We should look back into our lives at this time to see what the major themes were, as well as what happened societally. It's not that the same things are going to happen again, but there could be similar themes.

Speaker 1:

Here are a few potentialities with the lunar nodes in Pisces and Virgo. A good thing could be people embracing spirituality as opposed to religiosity, but we could still have people getting very fixed on whatever religious leaning they have. Religious issues could become part of society involvement. We're already seeing that with the abortion issues in the United States. Certain groups think that it can't happen because it goes against certain religious beliefs. So we're going to see more of that. Pisces does rural glamour entertainment, music, so we're going to see some shifts and changes to those industries. There'll also be a time of endings, more embracing of supernatural phenomena and galactic or extraterrestrial ideas. Existence phenomena, alternative healing modalities, as I mentioned, will be more open. People will want to live a more holistic lifestyle, maybe looking at nutrition in a different way. Finally, maybe mental health issues will come to a forefront, because many people are wandering around in delusions or confusions and they can't get mental health help.

Speaker 1:

During the Pisces-Virgo transit for the next 18 months, we're going to have the eclipses in Pisces and Virgo, the lunar nodes will be activated and we'll see more results or more events occurring related to the Pisces-Virgo, ie Earth changes, water, earth phenomena and some of these Pisces-Virgo issues will come to the forefront. So here are the dates of the Pisces-Virgo eclipses in the coming years the Virgo lunar eclipse occurs on March 13th 2025, with the full moon in Pisces. The Pisces lunar eclipse occurs on September 7th 2025, with the full moon in Virgo. So the lunar eclipses are activating both of those signs powerfully. As I said, march 13th it's a full moon in Pisces, but it's a Virgo lunar eclipse, and then on September 7th 2025, it's a full moon in Pisces. Virgo lunar eclipse the Virgo solar eclipse will be September 21st 2025. The Virgo lunar eclipse will be March 3rd 2026. A Pisces lunar eclipse on August 28th 2026. And a Virgo lunar eclipse on February 20th 2027.

Speaker 1:

So these are important dates to know because we'll see big changes in society and especially those people who are having their nodal return, who I mentioned earlier in the program, and then there's a group that are having their opposite nodal return.

Speaker 1:

Those are people who have a North node in Virgo and South node in Pisces, the opposite of where the nodes will be transiting. And so, if your lunar nodal axis is pointing in the opposite direction, you are halfway through a karmic cycle and you are at a pivotal turning point and may experience an upswing or a pivot or a shift into a different direction. If you have been laying the groundwork for something, you may find yourself able to move in a new and more forward moving direction. And, as I mentioned, we all have Pisces somewhere in our chart, we all have Virgo somewhere in our chart, and it's really important to find out if you have any planets, angles or other key astrological points in your chart in Pisces and Virgo, as they will be affected in the next 18 years.
